Ed Brown Products Introduces the Jeff Cooper Commemorative 1911

Monday, April 22nd, 2019

PERRY, MO – Ed Brown Products, Inc. is honored to once again be working with the Cooper family to release the 2019 Jeff Cooper Commemorative 1911, a tribute to the late Colonel Jeff Cooper and all of his contributions to 1911 world.

Over ten years ago Ed Brown introduced the first tribute pistol in honor to the Colonel.  The 2019 edition, like the first, pays special attention to the specific details that were his choice on a pistol of this quality.  The all blued gun, features a high polish slide with Jeff Cooper’s signature inlayed in gold on the right side, and the left side is inlayed “DVC” which stands for the latin phrase, “Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas”, meaning “Accuracy, Power, Speed”.  This became the motto of IPSC.  The 25 LPI checkering provides a solid grip to control the pistol, while adding a classic detail.  As the Colonel instructed, make it reliable and not too flashy.  A fixed rear sight is perfectly matted to the gold bead front sight for a effective and durable point of focus.  A concealed carry grip safety was chosen after reviewing photos of some of the Colonel’s favorite 1911’s, revealing he preferred a shortened grip safety.  Finishing off the package are th Cocobolo grips, adorned with the Jeff Cooper logo made up of his initials, a quill, and a sword – he was equally skilled with all.  As with pistols built at Ed Brown, every part is fully machined and hand fit by highly skilled craftsmen, for an exceptional fit, function, and feel, with the quality that will last a lifetime.  This timeless design is sure to be a source of pride for the owner and a family heirloom to be shared with future generations.

The Jeff Cooper 1911 will be a limited release and will be offered with an optional bound book case that includes a special printing of Jeff Cooper’s Yankee Fist, a Jeff Cooper Commemorative Coin, a Legacy Foundation Patch, and a Legacy Foundation Pin, all fitted neatly inside with a letter of authenticity.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each pistol will go to the Jeff Cooper Legacy Foundation to continue educating the next generation in firearm safety, training and self defense.

Sales and Marketing Director John May said, “Having grown up reading the articles and books by the legendary Jeff Cooper, it is my privilege to have worked with the Cooper family on this gun.  Having been a student of modern pistol craft as well as the 1911 this seems only fitting to share this with 1911 fans both old and new.  Do not miss out on this limited release and get you piece of 1911 history while you can.”

Ruger Announces Six New PC Carbine Models

Monday, April 15th, 2019

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) is excited to introduce six new PC Carbine™ configurations including three free-float handguard models chambered in the popular 9mm Luger and three standard models offered in the highly anticipated .40 S&W chambering. These new PC Carbine models are offered in varying magazine capacity and threaded barrel configurations to ensure multi-state availability.

With improved utility for home defense and competition, the 9mm free-float handguard models feature a hard-coat anodized aluminum handguard with Magpul® M-LOK® accessory attachment slots on all four sides for easy mounting of M-LOK-compatible accessories. The appeal of the popular PC Carbine is further broadened with new models designed to accept the powerful .40 S&W cartridge.

All of these new models boast the hallmark features of the original PC Carbine. Uniquely designed for use with a variety of magazines, the PC Carbine has an easily interchangeable magazine well system that allows the rifle to accept common Ruger® and newer Glock® magazines. The PC Carbine also features a dead blow action with a custom tungsten weight that shortens bolt travel and reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise.

Similar to the popular 10/22 Takedown® rifle, the PC Carbine is designed for quick separation of the barrel/forend assembly from the action for ease of transportation and storage. Takedown is as simple as locking the bolt back and verifying that the rifle is unloaded, pushing a recessed lever, twisting the subassemblies and pulling them apart.

The rifles also feature a reversible magazine release and charging handle to accommodate right- or left-handed shooters. The bolt is machined from heat-treated, chrome-moly steel to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability. The cold hammer-forged, chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise rifling provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easier cleaning, and some models feature a threaded muzzle to allow for use of standard muzzle accessories.

The accurate sighting system features a barrel-mounted, ghost ring adjustable rear aperture sight and a non-glare, protected blade front sight. The durable, glass-filled nylon synthetic stock features a soft rubber buttpad with spacers to allow the rifle to be adjusted for different sized shooters or varying levels of outerwear.

The PC Carbine ships with the SR-Series™ magazine well installed and an additional magazine well that accepts newer Glock® magazines. A 9mm Ruger American® Pistol magazine well is available separately at ShopRuger.com.

Black Aces Tactical announces shipment of the $449 Pro Series S Shockwave Semiautomatic

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019

Black Aces Tactical (BAT), a veteran owned American manufacturer, is proud to announce the shipment of the long awaited and much talked about Pro Series S Shockwave Semi.

Said Black Aces Tactical, “At the heart of the Pro Series S Shockwave Semi is a billet receiver produced local to central Florida combining the latest technology and most talented engineers.  We spent extra time to ensure our parameters were met so the customer receives the best weapon that we can produce.”

Specs:

·              No NFA/No AOW

·              6061 T6 Aluminum Receiver

·              14″ Barrel

·              26.5″ Overall Length

·              Choice of Black Synthetic and optional Walnut Furniture

·              Mossberg rear flange and top drill/tap pattern

·              4+1 capacity

·              Cycles both light and heavy loads

“We took our time on this receiver”, said Black Aces Tactical.  “The fit and finish are very important to Black Aces Tactical.  When a customer opens the box for the first time, they have to be excited about what they see.  For instance, the grip perfectly mates to the billet receiver and gives the weapon a beautiful form. These are the little things that we focus on as we manufacture. Also, due to import restrictions, having a “firearm other” classification automatically means that the receiver itself has to be manufactured in America. This gave us the opportunity to make it right from the start.”.
