McMillan Merchant Solutions

Monday, June 10th, 2013

This just in from McMillan Group International‘s Facebook Page. McMillan had a heck of a time with Bank of America, prompting them to look for alternative means to handle their transactions.

McMillan Merchant Solutions, LLC

We are getting close. I have chosen a name, McMillan Merchant Solutions, LLC, have signed a contract with a processing company which is behind our industry 100%. As a matter of fact when I told them that I wanted to donate a percentage of my revenue to any number of industry and 2nd Amendment supporting organizations, they told me they will match me dollar for dollar. That indeed help me to trust that they all willing to put their money where their mouth is just as I am.

I will have a list of organization that I will be willing to donate to and I will let the customer suggest to whom I will make a donation.

I have NRA, NSSF, SCI and Dallas Safari Club. I would like some suggestions as to who else should be on the list. I am thinking we should have 6 choices but if there are more good choices than that, I will consider adding to the list.

Come on everyone, tell me who you would like to see on the list.

Tell them what you think here.

Arc'teryx LEAF Talos LT Halfshell

We recently recommended the Arc’teryx LEAF Talos LT Halfshell and we just got these photos from Haley Strategic Partners that give you some good all around shots of the Talos LT to help you get a better feel for it. As it turns out there are a whole lot of other great products in these photos like carbines from Bravo Company USA featuring parts from B5 Systems as well as armor carriers and pouches from Mayflower Research and Consulting along with holsters from G-Code. You may also notice a lot of Kryptek camouflage in these photos including some cool custom combat pants from Australia’s Platatac, not to mention some interesting gloves from Outdoor Research.

Chris Kyle Frog – A New Website and New Logo

Sunday, June 9th, 2013

For most of us, when we hear the name Chris Kyle we think of three things; SEAL Sniper, Punisher Logo and unfortunately, tragic loss. I am told that before his death, he was working on a new logo that would be just about him, as the Punisher logo he had long used was now as much a part of Craft International as it was his. His life was cut short and he wasn’t able to unveil it himself, but his wife Taya has taken up his legacy and not only launched his new logo but also a new website.

Check out www.chriskylefrog.com for the latest info as well as items emblazoned with the new logo that incorporates Kyle’s identity as a SEAL in both trident and frog which he had as a tattoo as well as the Crusader Cross he had tattooed on his arm.

Wild Things Closes North Conway, NH Location

Friday, June 7th, 2013

The North Conway Daily Sun reports that outdoor and military clothing manufacturer Wild Things is closing their original North Conway, New Hampshire location which has been open for more than 30 years.

In addition to a small retail outlet, product development was based out of the New Hampshire location which is located near the home of co-founder Marie “Titoune” Muenier. Marie is a world class climber who, along with her ex-husband John Bouchard started Wild Things in 1981 to build the kinds of clothing and gear that they wanted to use.

Over time, military Special Operations Forces discovers their gear and eventually, the vast majority of sales transitioned from civilian to military customers. Marie sold the company in 2008 to private equity firm Consumer Growth Partners but has remained on board in product development. A role she will continue in spite of the North Conway closure.

Wild Things products are manufactured in several contract sewing factories located throughout the Eastern United States. Wild Things HQ remains in Rhode Island. Sales will continue to be web-based.

S.O.Tech Re-certified for ISO 9001:2008

Sunday, June 2nd, 2013

We got an awesome note from S.O.Tech the other day. Yeah”grueling” sounds a bit over the top but that’s the point of ISO certification. It is the gold standard in ensuring a company consistently manufactures a quality product and requires a great deal of time and effort. Congrats guys!

After an extensive and grueling audit S.O. Tech is proud to announce that we have passed and re-certified for ISO 9001:2008 certification.

What’s ISO?
ISO certifications ensures that our customers get a quality product, every time. Consistently and efficiently. Historically speaking most small businesses aren’t ISO certified due to the high cost of certification and by the book procedures.

Also keep in mind that the majority of large manufacturers and corporations are all ISO certified and for a reason including Car companies, computer manufacturers, etc.
