Mystery Ranch – Terraframe 80

For years, the Terraplane (seen above) was Dana Designs’ and then Mystery Ranch’s flagship pack due to its comfort, capacity and construction.

Now MR has incorporated their OVERLOAD feature, creating the Terraframe 80. OVERLOAD offers expandability via a load sling between the pack and the frame, keeping the weight near the back.

The frame incorporates rigid, carbon fiber stays which combined with a suspension which allows torsional flex will provide ample support for loads up to 150 lbs. The Terraframe includes the patented Futura Yoke which easily macro adjusts to proper torso length and Redirect waist belt system which is adjusted via a forward pull of the straps.

-Top-loading bag has two zippers along the face for center-of-pack access to gear

-Two vertical torpedo pockets for external access
-Zippered lid compartments
-Removable lid converts into blitz backpack with harnessing (seen below)
-Speedzip compartment for easy access to sleeping bag

-3 L (100 oz) hydration reservior pocket against frame with ports to drinking tube above shoulders
-Frame construction uses tubular webbing and horizontal cross carbon fiber stays that allow for ideal flex
-Hybrid internal / external frame (designed like an internal frame system but on the outside of the pack)

The Terraframe 80 weighs 6.1 pbs dry and has a capacity of 4870 cu-in. Manufactured from 330D Lite Plus Cordura fabric with YKK zippers, the Terraframe Design is also available in a 3-Zip variant.

Haley Strategic Partners – D3CRM Micro with Hanger in MultiCam Black

Folks have been asking for a MultiCam Black version of the popular D3CRM for quite awhile and HSP came through.

In addition to the inserts discussed below, the Micro Rig offers a zippered front opening with internal elastic slots for storage as well as the multi-mission hanger expansion with similar storage features.

The Micro rig has three insert options that can accommodate most common magazines.

-The triple 5.56mm insert comes with HSP MP2’s for retention and can also hold a radio if desired.

-The 7.62mm insert Pair also comes with HSP MP2’s for retention and can also hold a radio if desired.

-The Quad SMG/PCC (Sub Machine Gun/Pistol Caliber Carbine) insert is our Multi-Mission pouch on steroids.  This unique insert allows any size mag to be inserted from a smaller MP5 style magazine up to a larger SIG MPX style magazine.

The MARCH Belt was designed to work on the CRO Gunfighter™ Belt, a very well made inner/outer gun belt featuring horizontal and vertical PALs to allow for scaling the pouches based on need. The belt is extremely rigid and holds in place for extended wear.

In addition to the CRO Gunfighter™ Belt, The MARCH Belt is sold with five pouches and two tourniquet covers. The Small and Medium Gen Med pouches have CRO’s signature bungee retention panel with vertical pockets to allow customization. They are designed to open flat or be set to open at varying degrees depending on the medic’s preference. The rear pouch is a tear-away design and features the same inside setup as the Hybrid IFAK™.

Qore Performance Introduces IceVents Plate Carrier Shoulder Pads

McLean, VA, JUL. 11, 2018 Introducing IceVents: the plate carrier shoulder pad that can absorb 5000 pounds per square inch.

IceVents Plate Carrier Shoulder Pads are the result of a unique and exclusive collaboration between Qore Performance and Supracor using their proprietary Stimulite Technology. Stimulite is a highly sophisticated, impact-absorbing hexagonal honeycomb thermoplastic elastomer or TPE that is currently used in some of the world’s most advanced aircraft including the F/A-18 Hornet and the 787 Dreamliner.

IceVents can be added to any load bearing gear like plate carriers, backpacks and sling bags; delivering incredible end-user benefits not found anywhere else in the market. The proprietary, omni-directional, hexagonal venting pattern keeps users dry and comfortable all day. The plush honeycomb matrix is 90% air by volume, making it one of the lightest plate carrier shoulder pads on the market today, at just 0.6 ounces or 17 grams (the weight of a first class letter or half a piece of bread).

IceVents wider design, combined with the compressibility of the hexagonal honeycomb, distributes applied force across a broader area resulting in increased comfort and decreased fatigue over long periods of time under load. The air-dominant architecture of IceVents are impossible to tear by hand, but can be trimmed with scissors or a sharp blade for a custom fit.

Inherently anti-microbial, IceVents naturally reduce odor and maintenance while improving hygiene. Mild soap and water can be used to wash IceVents if needed.

Many of you may know my long-time friend Mel Terkla. He and his wife Rena have started a new company called PocketUp, specializing in load carriage.

They started out with various pockets for organizing larger packs but they are introducing the Park Pack, a simple daypack design.

Website Back In Service – MVT Special Operations Rig (SOR) Available in Ranger Green & Coyote Brown

The Special Operations Rig (SOR) was designed in collaboration with SOF personnel, specifically to fill the need for a chest rig / PC panel that is optimized for operational use, while able to comfortably carry the AN/PRC 152 radio to the front / side of the body. This has resulted in four kydex magazine pouches (5.56) flanked by two collapsible side pouches that enhance the rig by allowing the carriage of two radios (one each side), or 2 x 5.56 magazines in each radio pouch, or use the pouches for admin items or leave them collapsed. In addition, the front of the radio pouches have four rows of MOLLE, for the attachment of admin pouches as needed.

These specific design features and capabilities have resulted in a chest rig that is extremely versatile to varying load requirements, and will suit non-military as well as military personnel, whether or not you carry a radio on your gear. It can be used entirely as a standalone chest rig, attached to a plate carrier, or as a hybrid allowing optional attachment to a plate carrier, depending on the tactical situation.

Wear the SOR with the supplied H-harness, over a Plate Carrier or standalone.

Utilize the supplied PC Kit to attach the SOR directly to your Plate Carrier.

Multiple use options, as an assault panel over a PC, or standalone in ‘recce mode.’

The SOR is designed to allow the radio pouches to adjust comfortably across your chest, or if worn over a PC, the radio/mags fit into the space beside your front plate.
