Trigger Magazine

From the makers of Guns & Ammo comes Trigger Magazine. A new special interest and firearms publication, Trigger covers “guns, optics, ammo, gear, swag, carry, adventure, sport, history, [and] lifestyle”. This inaugural issue has articles on Tracking Point, POV cameras, custom pistols, defensive driving, WWII reenactments, the new Call of Duty, and more. What really caught my eye was the article on Rock River Arms, which included admiring detail of CEO Chuck Larson’s sports cars. Say what you will about Recoil, but this is the second similar special interest publication from other publishing houses since Recoil’s introduction a year and a half ago. To sum up Trigger Magazine, it’s Maxim for NRA members (except it’s a total sausage fest), but I like it regardless and will be picking up future issues as they’re published.

Back “Terminal Lance: The White Donkey” on Kickstarter

Saturday, July 13th, 2013

Kickstarter is a crowd funding platform that matches projects with donors. You find a project you like and you pledge funds to help it come to fruition. One of the latest projects to make the pages of Kickstarter is “Terminal Lance: The White Donkey” a graphic novel. It comes from Maximilian Uriarte, the creator of Terminal Lance, a web-based comic strip that offers a humorous look at Marine Corps life.

“Terminal Lance: The White Donkey” is a 150 page story about a Marine and his journey to Iraq, written and illustrated by a Marine. The creator Max has been working on the project for over three years. I always think its great when we can help a fellow Veteran make his dream come true, so SSD put our money where our mouth is and pitched in. Check it out. You may want to help as well. The rewards for your pledge look pretty good.

Hunting mule deer is one thing; hunting mule deer using a bow with howling winds in the Sandhills of Nebraska is something entirely different. Luckily for active duty Navy SEAL, Master Chief Ron Bellan and the rest of the Reaper Outdoors team they had Camo Form® to help them accomplish their mission.

Reaper Outdoors is the team behind the hit television series, “Survive The Hunt,” the first tactical/ hunting show. Recently Camo Form by McNett® Tactical sponsored a mule deer hunt with the Reaper Team on an episode titled, “Operation Camo Form.” Despite cold, harsh and windy conditions, they managed to land a mule deer with the help of Camo Form.

“We’re wrapping anything and everything we can think of,” said Bellan. “We’re using it and have been using it for a long time. We believe in this product. It’s Reaper tested, Reaper approved.”

Camo Form is the only reusable camouflage wrap that will not leave a sticky residue when removed. Unlike camouflage tapes, Camo Form adheres to itself as it is wrapped around the object. Camo Form helps conceal weapons, blinds and outdoor gear, adds grip, quiets clanking objects and helps with noise dampening. In addition, the heavy-duty fabric can be washed and re-used many times over. With 14 traditional and digital camo patterns, Camo Form offers on-the-fly concealment no matter what the environment.

Paul talks about the living conditions soldiers endured in Mogadishu, the UN Joint Forces stationed there, the media, decisions that were made by our military, the search for Aidid, planning for the mission, the mission assets, Operation Gothic Serpent including the downed Black Hawks, the convoy, staying overnight, and the extraction the next day. Chris Irwin Joins Kill Cliff As President

Friday, June 7th, 2013

ChrisIrwin

Former U.S. Navy SEAL officer Chris Irwin has recently joined Kill Cliff as President of the company. Irwin, who has 16 years of military service in addition to his experience as a civilian executive running his own company, also graduated from the United States Naval Academy. Fun fact: he also happens to be related to the late Steve Irwin.

In addition to hiring a new president, Kill Cliff has launched a new advertising campaign and a new website. Commercials can be heard on XMSirius Satellite Radio on the ESPN and CNBC stations, and seen by Comcast subscribers in the Southeast on Discovery Channel during Deadliest Catch and spots during Atlanta Braves games.

Kill Cliff is available through a variety of tactical outlets.
