Milipol – J Arthur (Pvt) Ltd

Wednesday, November 18th, 2015

I run across all kinds of different stuff at these trade shows.  I found this take on a combat shirt by J Arthur Ltd rather interesting.  One friend asked me if it was a pajama when I showed him the photo.

Milipol – S&S Precision Previews Latest Rhodesian Chest Rig Version

Wednesday, November 18th, 2015

I’ll show you something really cool.  Developed at the request of a Scandinavian customer, the innovations that S&S Precision incorporated into this version of their Rhodesian-style chest rig will soon be available to all. First off, they’ve fully updated the pouches.

As you can see, there’s also a new Yoke as well as laser cut drain holes at the base of the rig which you can see in this photo of the backside of the rig. Although S&S has incorporated a new pouch attachment, it remains fully PALS compatible.

Look for additional details in an upcoming Maker Monday.

Milipol – W.L. Gore & Associates Pyrad

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

I’ve often wondered what a combat uniform made from Gore Pyrad treated fabric would look like. I’m a big fan of the technology. Having heard that some work was being done in Europe I was excited to see this display.

In this case, it’s the French Camouflage Centre Europe pattern, but the Pyrad treatment can be applied to most fabrics. As you can see, it doesn’t negatively affect the color of the pattern.

The fabric retains its basic properties yet becomes FR. So, for example, a waterproof breathable fabric remains so. It also doesnt feel heavy or hot. But, it’s not something that’s going to wash out.

Milipol – Paraboot

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

Talk about bringing back some memories.  I was walking through the halls at Milipol when I glanced at a booth full of boots.  One of the models reminded me of a pair of jump boots I owned when I was a lot younger.  You old heads will probably remember them.  Fully leather lined and padded with a thick sole.

This model is a little different than the original jump boot in that it has zippers and no ankle reinforcements.

When I flipped the boot over, it still had the same Parasaut sole but I am told this model is now for aircrew use.

Milipol – Janisset SAS

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

French company Janisset SAS develops molded products as well as produces vertically integrated webbing. They own their factories in Viet Nam, Romania and France and are capable of weaving jacquard as well as variable width webbing.

I found this helmet mount very interesting. Unfortunately, they would not let me photograph it attached to a helmet.
