Paratech has developed a new maritime damage control shoring system. The current state of the art consists of centrally located wooden shoring that must be measured and cut to size. The new Paratech Damage Control System is easier to use, offers considerably more strength then the traditional wood method and is will not succumb to fire threats like wood which will combust. Additionally, there are no mold or mildew threats or corrosion.
Recently adopted by a European Navy, the system has been deployed on their ships in various locations on the ship increasing reaction times.
Coming Summer 2014, the Ranger Hippo is a collaboration between Polaris Defense and Mobile Hydraulic Equipment Company to produce a lightweight, all-terrain, alternative for the maintenance contact vehicle in order to access remote worksites.
Combining the well known capabilities of the Polaris RANGER Diesel along with the HIPPO 1041P, you now have Hydraulic, Electric, Pneumatic and Welding power all in a single unit powered by the RANGER’s Diesel engine.
The system will transport up to 3 personnel and up to 500 lbs of cargo in the box. This will support most light maintenance requirements and will reach those remote sites that are inaccessible by more traditional vehicles.

Tear-Aid is a see-through, airtight and waterproof repair tape. It is elastic and features an extreme bond. It sounds perfect for field repairs. In fact, the USCG uses it to repair their Zodiacs.

Holmatro is well known for their high pressure hydraulic rescue tools. However, they’ve got a couple of options for those of you who need to be able to get into confined spaces or remote areas where a hydraulic cable and generator/compressor are not available.
The self contained options rely on battery packs to produce a great deal of torque for spreading, cutting, pulling, and crushing duties. Depending on the model, they can offer a cutting force of up to 56,920 lbs
Holmatro also offers hand operated rescue tools. Depending on the model, these can spread and cut with a max cutting force of up to 56,920 lbs. They are lightweight and can even be used underwater.
