Kryptek Announces Camouflage Technologies Division

Wednesday, January 10th, 2018

Kryptek is proud to publicly announce its “Camouflage Technologies” division evolving from the expertise gained during the infamous U.S. Army Camo Improvement solicitation.

Kryptek Camouflage Technologies (KCT) provides passive concealment solutions that are customized specific to region, environment, and organization. KCT dovetails with Kryptek’s combat apparel capabilities allowing a complete turnkey solution for units, organizations and countries that desire functional and effective uniforms while gaining separation and advantage from legacy camouflage options that have saturated various Areas of Operations.

Building on Kryptek’s extensive government tested and proven family of camouflage, KCT’s new array of patterns is much broader with numerous variants to their Macro and Micro pattern assortments. Kryptek’s designers and engineers work closely with end users customizing the camouflage to ensure the best possible solution for the area and environment of intended use.

As well as providing functional concealment options, KCT also addresses the psychological aspect of camouflage. “When used for combat or counter terror operations, the need to ‘Identify Friend or Foe,’ or IFF, is becoming more and more of a concern as legacy patterns now saturate the Market and are easily obtained. Kryptek has reached a point in its life-cycle where it can provide combat apparel options that are customized for units, while controlling the fabric printing process thereby enhancing the security of the program for the end user,” says Butch Whiting, Kryptek Outdoor Group CEO.

KCT delivers a unique approach to obtaining combat apparel. Rather than just licensing or selling a pattern to an interested consumer, a complete package option is developed specifically to accommodate the end user. This approach provides the consumer with an agile, specific and precise way to equip units and organizations based on their specialized needs.

“Apparel Programs with various Coalition Special Operations units have been underway with KCT for the past two years,” says Josh Cleghorn, President of Kryptek Outdoor Group. “These programs have fallen in line with initiatives we have developed for Special Operations units here in the U.S. When you couple our premium combat apparel collection with our KCT capabilities, you truly have a unique option, especially for foreign organizations that are less bureaucratic and want to move relatively rapidly.”

KCT has developed more than 20 never-before-seen camouflage patterns. Each pattern provides a unique option with limitless color variations among each pattern. To view these new and exclusive camo patterns in person, please contact Kryptek at info@kryptek.com for an appointment at SHOT show booth #3648.

Toys, Tools, Guns & Rules: A Children’s Book About Gun Safety hits online stores

KANSAS CITY, MO (January 4, 2018) – Author Julie Golob is a prominent voice for sharing safe, responsible gun ownership throughout the firearms industry and beyond. Golob is a decorated multi-time world and national champion, an Army veteran, and a mother of two, and her newest book, Toys, Tools, Guns & Rules: A Children’s Book About Gun Safety, encourages families to begin having conversations about firearms with children at a young age.

There are millions of guns in the United States alone. Despite how polarizing the media and politics make the topic of firearms, Golob emphasizes that we must talk with our children about guns and firearm safety to protect them and help prevent deaths and injuries. Her book Toys, Tools, Guns & Rules helps parents break the ice with kids on this taboo topic.

Golob’s career as a competitive shooter (she holds more than 50 world and national titles), military service, and expertise as a firearms instructor helped prepare her to write her first children’s book.

“I’ve been around firearms and the shooting sports all my life. As a mother of two young children, I wrote Toys, Tools, Guns & Rules to continue to teach my daughters about guns and firearm safety at a young age. My goal is to provide parents this educational resource to help encourage an open conversation with kids, because gun safety is for everyone.”

Throughout the 40-page book, Golob uses colorful and realistic imagery, illustrated by Nancy Batra, to inspire vital conversations about guns—starting by comparing firearms to other potentially dangerous adult tools. Parents and children can view some of the many different types of firearms and what they can look like. Toys, Tools, Guns & Rules provides parents with the opportunity to educate curious minds about how firearms work, call out the most dangerous parts of a gun, and identify adults children might know and encounter who safely and responsibly use firearms.

In addition, Golob provides a useful guide for parents on how to make the most out of the book, so that they can answer questions and establish family and home rules regarding firearms. Coloring printouts and additional free resources are also available at kidsgunsafetybook.com.

Toys, Tools, Guns & Rules: A Children’s Book About Gun Safety is available through Amazon.com. Visit kidsgunsafetybook.com for more information.

Once a small manufacturing company based in Yonkers, NY, Kimber has grown at a rapid pace over the past 21 years with locations in the New York metro area and Montana. The new Troy facility will double Kimber’s manufacturing capacity.

“Due to an unprecedented year-over-year growth in demand, every time the company has embarked upon a planned expansion, the newly created capacity is exhausted before the expansion is complete,” said James Cox, Kimber’s chief financial officer. “As we continue to move into uncharted waters in regards to Kimber product demand, it was important to us to build a facility that will allow us to secure a significant new plateau of capacity.”

“We are pleased with the impressive track record that Alabama has with attracting and retaining world-class manufacturing companies,” said Leslie Edelman, Kimber’s president and chief executive officer. “Growing our company intelligently depends significantly on being in the right manufacturing environment, and in Troy, we have a community dedicated to our long-term success. Working with the Alabama Department of Commerce as well as Mayor Jason Reeves and his team has been a pleasurable and rewarding experience.”

“We will be building a large, automated, state-of-the-art design engineering and manufacturing facility in Troy to support Kimber’s growth plan and strategy,” said Greg Grogan, Kimber’s chief operating officer. “Troy offers us expansion with a passionate workforce, affordable utility costs, a pro-business environment, experienced local training support, and long-term incentives from the State of Alabama and the City of Troy alike. This expansion, in conjunction with our existing manufacturing facilities, talented and experienced employees, and best-in-class products provides for exciting times here at Kimber.”

“This is a dream come true for the City of Troy and for me personally; a firearms manufacturing company with such a stellar brand as Kimber, creating jobs and capital investment for the community,” said Jason Reeves, Mayor of the City of Troy. “Troy has a strong manufacturing base and Kimber will certainly, positively add to that.”
