FEDERAL RESOURCES PRESENTS HOLLYWOOD MOVIE, RANGE 15, IN CHARITY EVENT AT IAFC CONFERENCE

Friday, June 10th, 2016

FR-Range-15-Flyer

Baltimore MD, June 16, 2016 – Federal Resources, a first responder solution provider located in Stevensville, MD, is hosting an exclusive showing of the new independent movie, RANGE 15, at the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) International Hazardous Materials Response Conference on June 16th, 2016 in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Baltimore. The movie, tagged as the first film made entirely by veterans for veterans, stars actual veterans and Medal of Honor recipients alongside famous Hollywood actors.

RANGE 15 is the collaboration of two veteran-owned clothing companies, Ranger Up and Article 15 Clothing, run by Nick Palmisciano and Mat Best. The companies gained popularity among veterans and others through comedic videos placed on YouTube. With their dismay of Hollywood portraying veterans as unhappy “neanderthals”, the pair decided to team together and film a comedy to showcase that veterans can indeed have fun.

Nick and Mat set up an IndieGoGo campaign and raised over $1 million to acquire the funds for a feature length film. Federal Resources, a company that believes in and honors our veterans, became a key sponsor to the film, offering technical expertise and advice for the movie. The movie, a comedy horror zombie film, showcases many hazmat responders throughout the film. HazMatIQ instructor and Federal Resources Director of Training, Chris Waier was on set to ensure the responders were portrayed accurately.

The movie stars Mat Best and Nick Palmisciano along with William Shatner, Keith David, Danny Trejo, Sean Astin and other Hollywood heavyweights. Veteran and Navy Cross recipient Marcus Luttrell, who inspired the movie “Lone Survivor”, and Medal of Honor recipient Leroy Petry also star.

“This movie is for the veteran community. It’s not for anybody else if they don’t want it to be.” exclaims writer and star Nick Palmisciano. “I hope it does a lot to bridge the veteran – civilian divide. But if it doesn’t and the only thing that happens is that our community has a movie that they love, then we succeeded.”

Federal Resources will host a screening of the film on June 16th in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Baltimore during the IAFC Hazmat Conference in Baltimore MD. The event will feature a cash bar and a screening of the film in its entirety. Admission cost will be a donation of “anything you can give”, with a $5 minimum donation. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the YVORRA LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, CHIEF JOHN M. EVERSOLE ENDOWMENT FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS RESPONDERS. The doors will open at 6:00 pm EST for the cash bar social hour, followed by the film at 8:00 pm EST.

Grey Ghost Gear Releases the Wanderer

Friday, June 10th, 2016

Wandering. It’s what we do. We take ourselves all over the globe in search of riches, excitement or maybe the next double whiskey on the rocks. Often we’re traveling to and from work or on a plane moving to the next business venue. Wherever we wander, we need to bring along the necessaries for our job and to feel comfortable outside our home or battle position. Taking cues from our previous waxed canvas offerings, Wanderer captures all such reasons and needs in a low profile, high functioning aesthetically striking design.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” Mark Twain

The Wanderer is a messenger style bag built of waxed canvas and features waterproof zippers. You can carry your precious cargo in rain the rain or along the shore without worry. It feels really nice too, like furry walls on a chill, foggy morning.

  • Measurements: 20.5 in. long, 11.5 in. tall, 4.5 in. deep
  • Carry strap: adjustable seatbelt webbing fit everyone from the petite flâneur to brawny vagabond
  • End pockets: 2 each on either end; one zippered and flap closed, expanding to carry a water bottle, the other an open stash pocket that will hold a small umbrella (for you, not your gear), a couple of AR magazines or an IFAK.
  • Body Flap: The pull-over courier style flap secures with 2 magnetic snaps and contains 2 9×5 in. zippered, tricot lined pockets for smart devices, eye pro, or other small valuables.
  • Interior Organization: The primary compartment is divided into a 2/3-1/3 configuration. The smaller of the 2 will carry a laptop. The other will secure anything from a PDW with stock collapsed to your carry-on luggage. A simple side release web-and-buckle feature secures contents from spillage.
  • Further Compartmentalization: 2 vertical zippers in the front compartment open a gate to access loose, small items. The reverse side of the gate contains 4 stretch mesh pockets and a pen scabbard. Above those is yet another pocket with sufficient accommodation for an iPad Mini or similar device.

The classic, understated nature of the Wanderer is imminently suitable for customers who must by necessity remain inconspicuous and low profile but it works perfectly well for the everyman too. Utilize it to carry your gear across campus or use it to for off-body carry needs – there’s a zippered, hook-and-loop backed pocket to the rear of the bag, with plenty of room for a handgun and spare mags, and it’s been pleated so the weapon won’t print.

This is the same sort of utility that recently earned the Wanderer and its cousin, the Gypsy, a place on Fox News list of “ultimate tactical graduation gifts.”

Vagabond or skald, flaneur or gyrovague or face-shooting pipehitter who lives in a house that looks like a werewolf, we think you’ll find our new messenger bag worth a look. You may not have been everywhere yet, but might as well put it on your list. Take a Wanderer along with you.

Ration Fuel Sparks EUROSATORY Interest

Friday, June 10th, 2016

A unique waterproof fuel used by British soldiers to heat their rations and warm their drinks is set to spark interest at next week’s EUROSATORY event in Villepinte, France (13-17 June).

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) have awarded a four year contract to the UK-based survival equipment specialists, BCB International Ltd (Hall 6 G798), for the supply of a new operational ration cooker and fuel. BCB’s ‘FireDragon’ fuel is an innovative solid biofuel made from ethanol.

The contract marks a move away from hexamine fuel which the British Army supplied to troops for over forty years for cooking in the field. Hexamine was a potentially dangerous and outdated substance.

As BCB’s Managing Director, Andrew Howell, explained the fuel had to meet the UK MoD’s robust and rigorous requirements: “The UK MoD were looking for a solution that amongst other things was lightweight, could boil 500ml of water in under 11 minutes, was easy to light and extinguish, burned cleanly and is easily transportable. Our solution which includes a new folding cooker and a fuel pack weighs less than 300g and the FireDragon fuel will boil 500ml of water in under 8 minutes.”

Mr. Howell confirmed that other Armed Forces that currently issue their soldiers with Hexamine are taking a close look at BCB’s FireDragon fuel: “More and more Armies are taking a long hard look at the drawbacks of Hexamine and a second look at the benefits of FireDragon. The ‘FireDragon’ fuel is good news for their troops. It will enable their soldiers to cook their ready to eat meals with a safer and cleaner fuel. Our fuel is non-toxic, non-drip and made from 100% natural ingredients, including sustainably sourced ethanol. FireDragon is patented worldwide. It burns cleanly and leaves very little residue; thereby allowing soldiers to spend less time on cleaning their cooking equipment and more time on their vital operational roles. The fuel can be packed with rations which will help reduce transport costs.”

“Wherever they operate, whether in driving rain, the freezing arctic or searing heat, the fuel will enable soldiers to heat their rations whenever required.”

EUROSATORY 2016: IWI Marks TAVOR’s Decade of Excellence in Combat; Will Present, for the First Time, a Military Version of the X95 .300 AAC Blackout

Thursday, June 9th, 2016

Eurosatory 2016, Paris, France, June 13-17, Israel Pavilion, Hall 6, Stand #E 733

June 9, 2016 – Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) – a leader in the production of combat-proven small arms for law enforcement agencies as well as governments and armies around the world – marks TAVOR’s decade of excellence in combat. The company will present, for the first time, the military version of the X95 assault rifle in .300 AAC Blackout caliber.

According to Uri Amit, IWI’s President and CEO, “We are currently celebrating TAVOR’s decade of successful military operation. The TAVOR became the first new generation bullpup rifle to achieve such popularity in such a short time; in only ten years it has been adopted by dozens of armies and units around the world. The TAVOR was developed in response to the evolving changes in the battlefield, which required a versatile weapon to support fighting in both Close Quarters Battle (CQB) and in open areas. Reaching the highest levels of accuracy in ranges of up to 500 meters, the TAVOR has excellent ergonomics, making it easier for the fighter to operate it on the battlefield.”

For the first time at Eurosatory, the company will present the X95 (MICRO TAVOR) assault rifle in .300 AAC Blackout caliber – making the X95 a multi-caliber platform with the ability to switch to any of 4 calibers (5.56X45mm, 9mm, 5.45X39mm, and now – 7.62×35 mm). The conversion is easily accomplished, requiring only a change of the barrel. Due to the fact that the BLK 300 and the 5.56mm ammunition have the same dimensions, they both use the same standard AR magazine. Since a wide variety of ammunition can be used for the BLK 300 caliber, the rifle can be silenced at a very high level, which is not possible with the current 5.56mm ammunition.

About TAVOR Family of Assault Rifles

IWI’s TAVOR family of Assault Rifles are versatile, innovative, and technologically advanced weapons that have been extensively proven in the battlefield, performing with precision and reliability, and meeting the needs of human ergonomics. The TAVOR family was developed in close cooperation with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), based on experiences acquired in actual combat. Complying with the most stringent NATO standards for small arms – including operation in harsh conditions – the TAVOR is in service in the IDF Infantry and Special Forces as well as in other countries throughout the world. It has a bullpup configuration, a barrel length and weapon size that cover all soldier’s fighting ranges – from 500 meters to indoor operations, fighting from vehicles, urban areas, etc.

About X95 Family of Assault Rifles/Carbines/SMGs

The X95 (MICRO TAVOR) – which can be used as an Assault Rifle, Carbine, or Sub-Machine Gun (SMG) – is designed for Law Enforcement and Special Forces. Developed in close cooperation with elite units and tailored to their specific requirements, it was created to deal with modern terror threats, as well as urban and open area combat – all in one mission. It is the standard Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Assault Rifle, and is the only weapon available in four different calibers. Exceptionally reliable in even the harshest weather conditions, the X95 complies with the most stringent NATO standards for small arms.
