Cobalt Kinetics & Firearms Depot to Release Pro-Staff Inspired Signature Rifles

Friday, May 12th, 2023

May 12th, 2023: Cobalt Kinetics, a manufacturer of exquisitely designed (and expertly built) American Masterpiece firearms and accessories; is proud to announce that they will be teaming up with Firearms Depot to release two signature rifle builds designed by their Pro-Staff members. Jon Dufresne (Kinetic Consulting) & Don Edwards (Greenline Tactical) have lent their subject matter expertise to design the 11.5” CK-Pro “Bear Claw” and the 13.9” CK-Pro “Fast Eddie” platforms.

The collaboration between both companies was viewed as a great opportunity to provide customers with specialized platforms that were built using specs hand-picked by each shooter (and borrowing on years of subject matter expertise in the process). Each build will feature the same list of amazing components that makes the standard CK-Pro so amazingly accurate/ dependable, but with some tasteful upgrades too. The 11.5” & 13.9” will come equipped with Cobalt’s suppressor compatible RCB muzzle devices (Deadair Keymo on 13.9” & HUXWRX QD on 11.5”). They will also come with lo-profile, 2-point slings.

The platforms will also feature each Pro-Staff shooters signature barrel designed by them in conjunction with Rosco Mfg. barrels. Both barrels are constructed from 416R stainless steel, are then electro polished, and finally Melonited. The result is an MOA producing, precision grade barrel, with duty level service life, and both have been optimized for suppressor use. They feature a proprietary “Continuous Taper” to shore up strength on critical parts of the barrel, whilst lightening up other parts to provide a cooling/ balance ratio not easily found in other barrels. Both platforms also feature Cobalt Kinetics’ LIFETIME WARRANTY.

The platforms will be sold exclusively through Firearms Depot, starting with the 11.5” CK-Pro “Bear Claw” on May 12th.

“Working with Firearms Depot on this project has allowed us to bring something to the market that customers can enjoy whilst also being able to depend on. Both platforms are the result of over a year and a half of testing, abuse, and input from both talented shooters. Each found their specific set-up that worked extremely well for their given mission roles. The best part is that customers will be ready to roll to the range (or training class) once they mount an optic. We have provided every possible upgrade on these platforms, so customers do not have to!”

Friday, May 12th, 2023

The Direct Action HALIFAX® Small backpack is the smaller and simpler version of the HALIFAX® Medium model. Its large main compartment is equipped with a long YKK® zipper, allowing for quick and easy access to the contents of the backpack. The front and back walls of the compartment are lined with soft velour, enabling the attachment of additional accessories. In addition, the back wall is covered with a laser-cut modular system compatible with MOLLE/PALS, allowing for customization of the backpack according to individual needs and preferences. A zippered mesh pocket is also provided on the top of the front wall.

On the outside, there are two small zippered pockets on the top flap. One of them has a soft, velour-lined interior to prevent scratches, making it ideal for carrying glasses. At its height, there is a large loop panel, allowing for personalized identification or the placement of a “friend-foe” marker. Below there are two flat pockets with diagonal, vertical zippers and a vertical “daisy chain” between them. A modular panel perpendicular to the chain (corresponding to one column of the MOLLE/PALS system) is used below to allow for the attachment of additional narrow pockets. The backpack also features a laser-cut modular system on the sides corresponding to three rows and three columns of the MOLLE/PALS system. Below the modular panels are partially elastic pockets for carrying water bottles or canteens. The top of the side panels has holes for the hydration system tube to pass through.

To ensure user comfort, the wide straps are lined with softshell and filled with soft foam. This provides comfort even when carrying a fully loaded backpack. In addition to the reinforced back panel, there are five specially shaped pads that not only enhance carrying comfort but also improve air circulation.

Brouwer – Magwell Extension for M1811 Grip Module

Thursday, May 11th, 2023

The Brouwer M1811 Magwell Extension is designed to enhance the already generous magwell of the M1811 Grip Module for the Sig P320. The Magwell extends the margin of error when performing magazine changes by increasing the magwell opening diameter and providing a smooth transition for feeding.

Special consideration was made to ensure that the addition of the Magwell would maintain the same grip index and repeatability of the M1811. In order to achieve this the external profile was designed to minimize impact and interference with the users grip. The rear of the Magwell was designed to fit below the profile of the grip to reduce impact to the users palm swell. The front and sides of the Magwell were designed to offer a secondary index point that cradles the users hand at the bottom of the front strap.

Compatibility:
The Magwell is designed to work with factory 17 round magazines, as well as high capacity magazines without modification.

Material and Finish:
The Magwell Extension is made from 7075-T6 aluminum and is currently offered in three different coatings: Hard Black Anodized, or Anodized with color matched Cerakote in either Coyote or Black.

MSRP:

$74.95 Hard Annodized

$84.95 Hard Annodized with Cerakote

Multimillion-euro order: Austrian Armed Forces Award Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Framework Contract for Logistic Vehicles

Wednesday, May 10th, 2023

Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles has signed a framework agreement with the Austrian procurement organization Bundesbeschaffung GmbH Wien to supply various logistics vehicles for the Austrian Armed Forces. Encompassing the delivery of up to 1,375 HX, TGS and TGM vehicles, the framework agreement runs for seven years. Potential order volume could reach up to €525 million.

The Austrian government’s request for tenders comprised a total of 23 lots, of which six were earmarked for the military. Given the various technical requirements for the lots, Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) proposed vehicles from the TGM, TGS and HX model series with different axle configurations. RMMV’s proposal also included a variety of build-on systems such as cranes, platforms and tippers as well as roll-off, swap body and snow removal systems. RMMV received the go-ahead to supply Austria with all six lots of military vehicles.

“We’re very proud to be supplying the Austrian armed forces with state-of-the-art truck systems built at our plant in Vienna”, says Michael Wittlinger, chairman of the board of management of Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles. “Our claim at Rheinmetall is to equip those who stand up for our security in the best possible way. We are convinced that our vehicles will protect, support and satisfy Austrian soldiers in the best possible way.”

Procurement of the logistic vehicles is part of a comprehensive modernization of the Austrian Army. “From now until the year 2029, €560 million will be invested in modernizing 170 armored vehicles, including 58 Leopard 2 A4 main battle tanks and 112 Ulan infantry fighting vehicles”, declares Austrian defence minister Klaudia Tanner. ”Following the €873 million invested in procuring 36 AW169 ‚Lion‘ helicopters, this is the next big step in achieving a modern Army. Concrete steps like this are making the slogan ‘Mission Forward!’ a reality”, insists Tanner.

The Austrian armed forces have long been a very good customer of RMMV. They already successfully operate various vehicles from the company’s TGM, TGS and HX model series. Today, over 200 vehicles from the TGM model series with a double cabin and interchangeable build-on systems are in service. Furthermore, during the next few years, vehicles from the HX series with a three-sided tipper and rear-mounted crane will be delivered, as will vehicles from the TGS 8×8 series equipped with a Palfinger hook system. Since the end of 2021, the Austrian military has been using RMMV’s integrated armoured cabin, which, depending on requirements, can be mounted on existing HX trucks in very short order.

RMMV is a joint venture owned by Rheinmetall AG, which holds a 51% stake in the company, and MAN Truck & Bus SE, with the remaining 49% share.

Raytheon Technologies Introduces OXYJUMP NG Oxygen Supply System for Military Parachutists

Wednesday, May 10th, 2023

Advanced technology provides advantages for special operations missions – enabling longer glide duration on higher altitude jumps, maximizing oxygen use and reducing system weight

TAMPA, FL (MAY 9, 2023) – Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies business (NYSE: RTX), introduced its  OXYJUMP™ NG oxygen supply system for use in high altitude jumps by parachutists. The OXYJUMP NG system’s breakthrough technology enhances mission capabilities with a longer gliding distance, improves jumper safety, is easy to use and contains significant size and weight advantages over legacy systems.

Existing oxygen supply systems are limited in extended high-altitude operations, restricting the effectiveness and reach of parachute missions.

Utilizing Collins’ oxygen pulse technology – already certified by one NATO country – the OXYJUMP NG system provides customers with a smaller, lighter weight solution which automatically adjusts oxygen levels to enable longer mission profiles.

“The OXYJUMP NG system gives allied armed forces the stealth, readiness and safety necessary to complete the most complex jumps on earth,” said Brad Haselhorst, vice president and general manager of Military, Safety and Cargo Systems at Collins Aerospace. “The OXYJUMP NG system not only keeps up with the evolving nature of combat jumps, but it’s ready for use today.”

Designed for comfort and ease of use, the OXYJUMP NG system operates automatically and includes an ergonomically designed mask to comfortably and securely fit against the face, giving users peace of mind and keeping them focused on their most critical tasks.

Collins Aerospace’s OXYJUMP NG system will be on display at SOF Week in Tampa, Florida at booth L910.
