Blackhawk Adds Heather Miller as Brand Ambassador

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – December 9, 2021 – Blackhawk, a leader in law enforcement and military equipment for over 20 years, has announced the addition of competitive shooter Heather Miller as a brand ambassador.

Born and raised in south Texas to a military and law enforcement family, Miller’s passion for firearms started at the age of four under the mentorship of her father. Since then, she’s become one of the top female shooters in the United States, representing Team USA at the 2019 International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) World Rifle Championship in Sweden and at the 2018 IPSC World Shotgun Championship in France, where she and her Team took silver.

Over her 12 years of competitive shooting, she has won numerous matches and events. She actively competes in 3-Gun, USPSA and PRS, and is currently moving into more tactical-focused events such as the Tactical Games and the Gryphon Group Rumble.

In addition to Blackhawk, Miller represents Benelli, Lone Star Armory and Staccato, which partnered with Blackhawk in 2020 to develop T-Series Red Dot Sight (RDS) Level 2 and Level 3 retention duty holsters specifically designed for Staccato 2011 handguns.

Outside the competitive arena, Miller has been carrying for defense for 14 years and gives back to her community by teaching concealed carry and firearms clinics, as well as supporting local and national 2A efforts.

It provides a solidly mounted and dependable remote switch option for weapon optics, lasers and lights. Hot Buttons are available to function industry standard electronic devices and can be configured to work with OEM and specialty products.

The Spade Grip Mount takes all of the features that made Hot Button the industry-leading remote switch and makes it available for crew served weapons. Designed to support a project for B.E. Meyers as a control module for the IZLID laser system, the Spade Grip Mount attaches directly to the fire control on the M2 Browning Machine Gun as well as most other spade grip equipped weapons systems.

Spade Grip Mount conveniently places two Hot Buttons at the top of a grip handle for easy thumb activation. It can be securely mounted on either right or left side and will not move under hard use. Spade Grip Mount has several key features:

• Rock solid mounting structure.

• Button Cover / Lockout to prevent ND.

• Dual button paddle activation to fire two devices simultaneously

Hot Buttons can be built with device-specific leads for almost universal device control. UNITY TACTICAL is excited to announce the release of the FAST™ MRO Optic Mount, designed for Trijicon MRO® and MRO® HD optics.

FAST™ is a series of optic mounts and platforms that provide end users with a quicker sight picture than standard height mounts. A 2.26” optical centerline height provides faster/easier reticle acquisition while wearing electronic ear-pro/communications headsets, night vision goggles and gas masks and allows for more rapid visual processing of the battlefield by promoting a heads-up posture. A heads-up posture also helps users maintain a neutral spine position which is more comfortable while wearing helmets, plate carriers, and other heavy gear.

The FAST™ MRO Mount features a built-in standard height windage-adjustable back up rear iron sight that keep weapons uncluttered, without reducing capability. It also features the FAST™ offset accessory mounting interface.

Compatible with all FAST™ FTC (Flip-To-Center) Magnifier Mounts.

Decision Dominance: SCI TOCNET-G4 Vehicular Intercom System Receives New Networking Capability from Persistent System

Firmware upgrade for Persistent Systems mobile ad hoc networking devices allows dismounted troops, headquarter staff, to seamlessly communicate with vehicle crews

NEW YORK, Nov. 30, 2021 — Persistent Systems, LLC (“Persistent”) a leader in mobile ad hoc networking (MANET), announced today that its MANET solutions have undergone a firmware upgrade, enabling them to interface with SCI Technology’s TOCNET-G4 unified voice management system for tactical military vehicles.

With this new capability, troops moving in, out of, and around vehicles can use their handheld MPU5 MANET devices to seamlessly connect with vehicle crews via the TOCNET-G4 intercom system, even under the most chaotic battlefield conditions. The result is increased connectivity, improved situational awareness, and improved decision dominance during a military engagement.

“Before this upgrade, you had to deal with crackly audio and messy headset plug-ins, which was not ideal when you’re taking fire. Now everything is smooth, fast, and automatic,” said Nicholas Naioti, VP of Business Development at Persistent. “Anyone on Persistent’s Wave Relay® MANET can communicate on the TOCNET-G4, so now headquarters has a direct line to an individual vehicle driver.”

The TOCNET-G4 is connected to the Persistent Systems Wave Relay® MANET via the GVR5, a dual-band networking radio developed for tracked and wheeled vehicles in conjunction with General Dynamics Mission Systems. Through the GVR5, troops using Persistent’s handheld MPU5 devices can communicate with vehicular crews on the TOCNET-G4 system.

“Everything is ethernet-based,” said Ed Reber, director of the Army C3T business area at General Dynamics Mission Systems. “There is no need for extra cabling, which reduces cost and logistics requirements. With this capability, you can just ‘dial’ a specific crewman or connect with someone who is part of a force operating in a specific location.”

The TOCNET-G4 is currently on, or being tested with, 50-plus military platforms. These include the JLTV, GMV 1.1, Stryker, LAV, and NGCV MET-D.

“The ubiquity of SCI Technology’s TOCNET-G4 unified voice management system means that the firmware upgrade to Persistent’s MANET hardware will benefit a lot of users,” said Shaun Fischer, Director of Portfolio Management at SCI Technology.
