Thyrm Introduces the LPC Clip

Low-Profile Carry for Premium Flashlights
Sunnyvale, CA – Thyrm® changed the premium flashlight market in 2014 with the introduction of the SwitchBack®. Individuals could now pocket-carry most premium flashlights like Surefire and Streamlight with the SwitchBack’s pocket clip. The SwitchBack’s finger ring introduced a host of new features to the handheld light market including flashlight retention and the SwitchBack technique for use with handguns. Consumer demand for a low-profile flashlight carry clip spurred the design of the SwitchBack’s undercover cousin – introducing the LPC Clip™.

The LPC (Low Profile Carry) Clip offers deep carry of premium flashlights like Modlite Systems, Surefire Fury, 6P and G2X, Streamlight Protac HL/HL-X, and the soon-to-be-released Cloud Defensive handheld. This low ride height minimizes visual signature. Thyrm designed subtle control surfaces into the LPC to aid in secure deployments and various grip techniques. A lanyard hole fits 1/8” shock-cord and paracord.

As with all Thyrm products, LPC Clips are designed and made in the USA.

ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 4, 2021 – AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV), a global leader in intelligent, multi-domain robotic systems, today announced it was awarded a firm-fixed-price contract on Sept. 28, 2021 by the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for $20,321,973 for the procurement of Switchblade® 600 tactical missile systems (TMS). Delivery is scheduled to be completed by January 2023.

“Switchblade 600 is an all-in-one, man-portable tactical missile that provides warfighters with the capability to fly, track and engage non-line-of-sight targets and light-armored vehicles with precision lethal effects,” said Brett Hush, vice president and product line general manager for TMS. “The tube-launched, Switchblade 600 can be easily transported for deployment from fixed and mobile platforms in any environment, providing operators with superior force overmatch and minimizing exposure to direct and indirect enemy fires.”

AeroVironment’s Switchblade 600 is an all-in-one, man portable solution equipped with a high-performance EO/IR gimbaled sensor suite, precision flight control and more than 40 minutes of flight time to deliver unprecedented tactical reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition (RSTA). Its anti-armor warhead enables engagement and prosecution of hardened static and moving light armored vehicles from multiple angles without external ISR or fires assets. Switchblade 600’s patented wave-off and recommit capability allows operators to abort the mission at any time and then re-engage either the same or other targets multiple times based on operator command, resulting in minimal to no collateral damage.

AeroVironment Demonstrates First-Ever Switchblade Loitering Missile Integration for Air Launched Effects from JUMP 20 Medium Unmanned Aircraft System

Friday, November 5th, 2021

• Initial proof-of-concept demonstration conducted in August 2021

• Leverages an AeroVironment end-to-end solution with combat-proven systems for increased mission autonomy and efficacy

ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 3, 2021 – AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV), a global leader in intelligent, multi-domain robotic systems, today announced the successful demonstration of integrating Switchblade® 300 loitering missiles and JUMP® 20 medium unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for increased mission autonomy and efficacy. This Air Launched Effects (ALE) proof-of-concept demonstration took place in August 2021 with the goal of launching an inert Switchblade 300 from the JUMP 20 and successfully recovering both air vehicles.

The systems were integrated by fixing the inert Switchblade 300 tube-launch system to the existing JUMP 20 platform’s vertical lift boom with a custom-made bolt-on mount and firing solution. Switchblade 300 was remotely fired using the JUMP 20 ground control solution with in-flight control taken by a separate Switchblade ground element. Both vehicles were successfully recovered, proving the demonstration event to be the first-ever Switchblade 300 integration and air launch from a JUMP 20 Group 3 vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) platform.

“This end-to-end integrated solution enables customers with greater time on station than if they were to deploy a Switchblade on its own, resulting in the ability to conduct persistent real-time surveillance to increase the chance of identifying the correct target and minimizing collateral damage,” said Brett Hush, AeroVironment vice president and product line general manager of tactical missile systems. “It combines the combat-proven Switchblade loitering missile’s lethality, reach and precision strike capabilities with low collateral effects and the VTOL, fixed-wing JUMP 20’s advanced multi-sensor ISR services and 14-hour endurance.”

Poseidon Kronos Tactical LPU from Fenris Consult

Friday, November 5th, 2021

Norway’s Fenris Consult AS recently contacted us about their Poseidon Tactical LPU, a Damage Resistant Life Preserver.

YOU CAN KILL THIS LPU – IT WILL STILL SAVE YOUR LIFE
Over the past few years, there have been several instances of maritime operators having lost their lives due to damaged or failing equipment.

Combined with more aggressive and well-armed opposing entities, odds are this will happen again in the not-so-distant future.
Simultaneously, the development of “tactical” LPUs haven’t really gone anywhere – military issued LPUs are generally low quality, relatively large in size, and they haven’t really offered much.

David Manzi of Safe Defence PTY Ltd, trading as Poseidon AU, has been associated with the Aviation, Maritime and Land Safety and Survival Solutions for more than 38 years.
Poseidon® has numerous cutting-edge solutions, and regularly takes on custom development for professional end users. Poseidon also offers unique technical solutions, such as the Damage Resistant Technology for their LPUs.

While testing potential candidates for the procurement of a brand new LPU, a NATO maritime- focused, amphibious unit realized none of the existing candidates were up to the task. They wanted an LPU with the best possible qualities, new technology and all the top life-saving properties, while keeping the footprint on the users as low as possible.
Poseidon® set out to make the best tactical LPU possible, and six months later this resulted in the Poseidon Kronos.

Poseidon Kronos LPU shown here mounted on the Crib Gogh VAULT system – a world first tested with a life preserver meeting the future PPE compatibility protocols also meeting STANAG 2895

The Poseidon Kronos boasts a unique technology called Damage Resistant Technology – if you stab the LPU with an edged weapon through-and-through, it will still inflate fully.
If a maritime police officer are shot through the LPU and falls over board, the LPU will still inflate fully and make sure the officer keeps his head above water and safe from drowning until he is recovered.

In addition, the Poseidon Kronos offers 306N of buoyancy, FR materials (FAR 25.853), inflation redundancy, ISO12402 In-water Performance and TSO-C13g compliance conformant with a Human Test Subject of a fully kitted combat solder in full body armor and load bearing vest, plus 55kg loaded to the chest region of the test subject, with Independent NATA Lab certified testing.

The ability to shoulder the weapon with the Inflation cells in the packed format and fully inflated ensures the combat soldier is not compromised in his/her combat duties.

Comp-Tac Releases CT3 Level III Duty Holster

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021

HOUSTON, TX – November 2, 2021 – Comp-Tac® releases an optics and light compatible, Level III Duty Holster – The CT3™.

The CT3 is designed so the user can deactivate the three levels of retention while maintaining their master grip. The intuitive release mechanism equals economy of motion, faster, more consistent draws and less training time.  The three level of retention are the hood, automatic ejection port lock and friction retention, to prevent unintentional removal of your handgun. The CT3 activation lever releases the hood when pressed, and only releases the ejection port lock when held down during the draw. These features, combined with Comp-Tac’s unique and masterful approach to holster body construction, give the CT3 unparalleled fit, security, and draw speed. A variety of mounting options are available including drop offset, mid-ride belt, SQR (Secure Quick Release), PLM (Push-Button Locking Mount), and an adaptor plate for QLS system.

“The CT3 is the result of two years of design, testing and partnership between Comp-Tac and multiple departments and members of the law enforcement community,” explained Gordon Carrell general manager of Comp-Tac. “For years, Comp-Tac has been a leading supplier of concealed carry and off duty equipment. We wanted to be able to take the skills that we have acquired and the relationships we have built in the industry to offer a solution for the men and women on the front lines of our law enforcement, military and all users wanting multiple levels of retention.”

You can watch the official product videos for the CT3™ at youtu.be/So_qqwvsBCw and CT3™ Official Product Video

In addition to the CT3 Holster, Comp-Tac® has also released the CT2™ Series of holsters. The CT2-A™ Holster offers two levels of retention with an ejection port lock that automatically locks when the weapon is holstered along with friction retention. A safety shroud assists in concealing the activation lever to provide an additional layer of safety and security. Designed using super durable Kydex®, the CT2-A Holster has numerous mounting options.

The CT2-H™ Holster uses both a hood and friction providing two levels of retention. The safety shroud assists in concealing the activation level for the user’s safety and the safety of others. Friction retention screws can be adjusted for a secure hold around the trigger guard and muzzle. Aircraft-grade Kydex® is strategically formed to restrict any undesired movement also known as “holster rattle” while the weapon is holstered. The CT2-H is designed with the user in mind for safety, security, and superior all-day-wear comfort.

The CT2-A and CT2-H product video can be seen at CT2-A™/CT2-H™ Product Video.
