Bushnell Shooter KC Eusebio Wins 8th World Speed Shooting Championship

Eusebio Named Overall Champion and Claims Two Division Titles

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – April 28, 2021 – Bushnell®, an industry leader in performance optics, congratulates pro shooter KC Eusebio on winning his eighth World Speed Shooting Championship title. Eusebio, equipped with a Bushnell First Strike 2.0 reflex sight, was successful in claiming the High Overall title and two first-place finishes in both the Open and Rimfire Optics Division during the 2021 world championship.

“I’m always excited to compete at the Steel Challenge as I’ve been shooting this match since the age of 9, and it just never gets old,” said Eusebio. “What makes this one so special was that I’m the first to win 8 Overall Championships. I was also able to capture a new world record in the Rimfire Optics division, besting my last record from 2020.”

Sponsored by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association and the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), the World Speed Shooting Championship is considered one of the most competitive and prestigious handgun competitions in the world. Shooting at an average speed of 2.48 seconds per run, and with an overall time of 77.71 seconds, Eusebio quickly shot his way to the winner’s title of “World’s Fastest Shooter.”

“I wouldn’t have been able to do this without Team Bushnell,” said Eusebio. “The First Strike 2.0 has once again been able to perform at the highest level of speed shooting. In the Main Match, Eusebio won the High Overall title and first place in the Open Division. He also won first place in Rimfire Optics Division, setting a record for the fastest overall time in match history.

Bushnell and Hoppe’s Pro Jessie Harrison Takes Gold at 2021 World Speed Shooting Championships

Major Order for HENSOLDT Optronics

Oberkochen-based sensor specialist supplies sight systems worth almost 75 million euros for Dutch armoured reconnaissance vehicles

Oberkochen, Germany, 28 April 2021 – Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT has received an order from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) worth nearly 75 million euros to equip the Royal Netherlands Army’s “Fennek” armoured reconnaissance vehicles with visual systems. The scope of the order includes 188 BAA II NL observation and reconnaissance systems as well as a number of spare parts.

“Our optronic solutions combine sensors from different technologies to provide armoured vehicle crews with an excellent situational awareness,” said Andreas Hülle, CEO of HENSOLDT Optronics. “In the field, this capability is essential to fulfil the mission and ensure the protection of the crews.”

The BAA II NL is the logical further development of the BAA II JFST, which is already in use in the Joint Fire Support Team (JFST) of the German Armed Forces. The external dimensions have remained the same and the use and menu navigation have also been left unchanged in order to keep the training effort for the crew as low as possible.

The scope of the contract also includes adjustments to the YellowKite camera, which will be optimised to become a day-vision/near-infrared (NIR) camera with colour vision and will receive a near-infrared cut filter. In addition, HENSOLDT provides a digital outlet.

HENSOLDT will deliver the observation and reconnaissance systems to Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), which will handle the integration of the BAA II NL and its command and control system into the Fennek reconnaissance vehicles. Deliveries to KMW will begin in autumn 2022 with the qualification systems. Series delivery will start in 2023 and is scheduled to be completed by 2027.

CCI and Federal Sponsored Shooters Broke Several World Records and Won Three Championship Titles at World Speed Shoot

ANOKA, Minnesota – April 21, 2021 – CCI and Federal Ammunition sponsored shooters Grant Kunkel and Chris Barrett broke multiple world records and earned world championship titles in three divisions at the recent World Speed Shoot. The 2021 Steel Challenge Shooting Association World Speed Shooting Championship Match was held April 14-18 at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Alabama, presented by CCI and Federal Ammunition.

Of the 637 guns in the match, Kunkel finished high overall and set a new world record in the Rimfire Rifle Iron Division turning in a performance of 53.97 seconds. The previous record was 58.86. Kunkel was the first person to shoot a sub-five-second stage with a 4.98-second finish on the “Smoke and Hope” stage. He also set four stage world records and took 1st place in that division. In addition, Kunkel claimed the world champion title in the Rimfire Rifle Optics Division, second-place finish in the Pistol Caliber Carbine Optics Division and third place in the Rimfire Pistol Optics Division. In all, Kunkel managed to set eight world records for fastest stage time in a given division.

“To have earned a high overall win and set all the records Grant did is amazing,” said Federal’s Shooting Sports Promotions Manager, Jason Spradling. “This is a huge deal. Two years ago, the 60-second mark was broken, and no one thought it would ever be bested. Grant beat it by almost 5 seconds.”

“When I am competing at a World Championship there isn’t any room for error, that is why I use CCI Mini-Mags and Federal Syntech pistol ammunition,” said Kunkel. “Their accuracy and reliability are second to none!”

Kunkel’s CCI/Federal teammate, Chris Barrett, also had a strong showing. Barrett earned his 5th world title in the Pistol Caliber Carbine Irons Division and set new world records on seven stages. Barret uses Federal Syntech in his PCC rifles and Open Division pistol, and CCI Mini-mags in his rimfire rifles and pistol.

“Chris’ hard work and dedication to this sport continue to pay off and we’re extremely proud of his accomplishments,” said Spradling. “We congratulate Grant and Chris on such outstanding performances.”
