TNVC Contributes $50,000 to Reward for Arrest of Gunman in LA County SO Ambush

Friday, September 18th, 2020

Redlands, CA, September 18, 2020

With a heavy heart and prayers for the victims and families of those involved, TNVC President and CEO Victor DiCosola has announced that TNVC has donated $50,000 to the reward offered by Los Angeles County for information leading to the arrest of the gunman who callously ambushed and attempted to murder two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies in cold blood on the evening of Saturday, September 12, 2020.

“With our headquarters in Southern California, TNVC has always maintained a close relationship with nearby Law Enforcement agencies,” said CEO Victor DiCosola, himself a former Southern California law enforcement officer.

“We are deeply saddened and also angry about this brazen and cold-blooded attack, and want to do everything in our power to help bring the perpetrator of this inhuman act to justice, and to support the families of those two deputies and their families. TNVC has always been committed to our Law Enforcement and First Responders, and everyone else who puts their own lives on the line to protect others, and many of our staff are military or law enforcement veterans. This one hits close to home in more ways than one, as does the seemingly random and vicious nature of the attack.

“It has been an extremely difficult and divisive time for our Nation over the last few months, however no matter what your political or ideological beliefs, I hope that we can all agree that such a brutal attack on fellow Americans who have sworn to protect and serve the public is reprehensible and unacceptable. For this reason, TNVC has donated $50,000 to contribute towards the reward to bring the perpetrator of this heinous act to justice.”

Persistent Systems Launches Rugged Display and Controller for MPU5

Friday, September 18th, 2020

The warfighter’s interface to the networked battlefield

New York, NY. – Persistent Systems, LLC (“Persistent”) announced today that it has unveiled the new Rugged Display and Controller (RDC) for the MPU5 mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) device. An alternative to third-party consumer Android™ phones used with the MPU5, Persistent’s purpose built RDC offers improved ruggedness, ergonomics, and enterprise-class management in one of the few Android™ End User Devices (EUD) made in America.

“When you plug in the RDC, you instantly have a complete situational awareness capability,” said Brian Soles, Persistent’s Vice President of Business Development. “The MPU5 is a computer that runs the Android™ operating system, and every MPU5 comes preinstalled with the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), which is a full-fledged situational awareness Android™ app.”

The RDC’s 5.7-inch multi-touch screen, combined with the Dual PTT and MPU5, comprise a complete kit for the tactical operator, allowing that operator to receive voice, video, and situational awareness data directly from every user, unmanned systems, and sensor on the network.

Designed for tactical users who wear gloves, the RDC has physical buttons for ease and speed of use, including the Android™ standard Home, Back, and App Overview buttons. When connected, the RDC appears to Android™ as a Gamepad Input Device, with two (2) joysticks, rocker-switches, A-B-X-Y buttons, and an emulated D-Pad. Tactical users can now navigate their applications faster, using joysticks to zoom in and hotkeys to quickly switch between functions.

Eight integrated high-precision sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, thermometer, pressure, light sensors, and rear-facing camera) feed data into the Android™ Sensor Framework, enabling applications to incorporate motion, orientation, and environmental data.

“We designed the RDC to match the chest-worn formfactor that users were already accustomed to with commercial EUDs, while delivering increased ruggedness and capability,” Soles added. “We contracted Juggernaut.Case to design the chest mount, to provide a unified experience to the end-user.”

Wave Relay® Ecosystem partners and third parties have developed Android™ applications to drive unmanned ground robots, fly unmanned aerial vehicles, and steer EO/IR cameras. The RDC helps achieve Persistent’s vision to deliver those capabilities to every soldier through the networked battlefield.

The RDC is available for purchase. For more information, visit: www.persistentsystems.com/rugged-display-controller

“I’ve found that in order to shoot my best and be competitive at the upper levels, I cannot leave anything to chance. Nor use anything but the absolute best products. Ammunition is a huge factor in this and I am certain much of my success is due to my use of Atlanta Arms’ ammo. Consistency of velocity, the highest level of accuracy, and the absolute lowest recoil possible can only be achieved through non-stop testing, endless experimentation, and rigorous quality control. When I win, it is because I have better equipment than the next guy. Atlanta Arms ammunition is a key ingredient and gives me the edge I need to perform at my best. ” – Rob Leatham

MasterPiece Arms Introduces the MPA Grenade

Thursday, September 17th, 2020

When creating a MasterPiece, sometimes things can get a little messy. MPA Grenades are chassis that pass MPA’s inspection in every way except cosmetically.

Comer, Ga. (September 2020) – MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturers of the MPA BA Rifles and Chassis Systems, is pleased to introduce the MasterPiece Arms Grenade. Sometimes when creating a MasterPiece, things can get a little messy. MPA strives for absolute perfection in every chassis but occasionally, one comes down the line that does not meet MPA’s strict quality control standards. Enter: the MPA Grenade.

MPA Grenades are chassis that pass MPA’s inspection in every way except cosmetically. Whether it be a small ding in the paint, a run-in with a laser that was having a slightly off day, or some other minor cosmetic blemish, these chassis will still function with the same flawless perfection you expect from MPA, but with their own special flair.

The blemishes will all be considered mild and, in most cases, are difficult to identify without very close inspection. The small grenades lasered on them will mark them as the unique MasterPieces that they are. The MPA Grenades launched Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at 9 am. EST with an exclusive social media only flash sale and will continue each day until the first batch of Grenades has been sold.

MPA makes every effort to get the product to the customer as quickly as possible. These are hand-built precision instruments and not production components. Leading Canadian Submersible Robotics Company Launching New Semi-Autonomous ROV System, REVOLUTION NAV

Wednesday, September 16th, 2020

The REVOLUTION NAV package makes locating, tracking and operating an ROV easier than ever before.

August 18, 2020 – Kitchener, Ontario – Taking a big step towards developing a hybrid autonomous vehicle, submersible robotics company Deep Trekker is proud to announce that they are launching a new ROV package, the REVOLUTION NAV. Offering advanced navigation and stabilization, this new package is leading the way in semi-autonomous vehicles. The REVOLUTION NAV package provides pilots with a Google map showing their ROV’s position on screen, allowing users to see where they are, leave a trail to show where they have been and set points of interest to where they want to return to. Furthermore, advanced stabilization features allow operators to station hold against currents, enable auto altitude and pilot their vehicle precisely and accurately through varying water conditions.

Solving harsh environmental situations with fully assembled, tested and ready to use remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), Deep Trekker gets eyes underwater in minutes. With applications in aquaculture, energy, shipping, defense, infrastructure and search and rescue among others, Deep Trekker’s underwater drones are on the leading edge of submersible technology.

“We are thrilled to be launching the REVOLUTION NAV,” shared Deep Trekker President Sam Macdonald. “With this new package, users will be able to know where they are in real time. This advanced navigational tool allows for more complex missions to be successfully carried out by ROV pilots.”

The REVOLUTION NAV’s capabilities are especially useful for applications in open, murky water or when there is significant current. The state-of-the-art features provide benefits across numerous applications for missions requiring precise navigation, location tracking and reporting. Search and recovery teams, for example, will be able to easily see and track what areas have been covered as part of the search.

“The REVOLUTION NAV uses our BRIDGE technology and sensor fusion to provide station keeping, location tracking and intelligent navigation in addition to real time location data,” explained Macdonald. “We aim for constant innovation and the REVOLUTION NAV allows us to continue to provide advancements to our customers and pave the way towards autonomy.”

The pairing of USBL and DVL with Deep Trekker’s BRIDGE technology and sensor fusion bring this intelligent navigation system to life. USBL systems utilize sonar beacons to triangulate the position of the ROV. A GPS chip inside the Deep Trekker BRIDGE Controller allows the system to correlate the data and provide real time latitude and longitude. DVL offers users an enhanced navigational system by providing pilots with the ability to accurately and conveniently determine velocity relative to the seafloor, allowing for easy navigation through the most complex of operations.
