Friday, November 20th, 2020

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – November 12, 2020 – Savage Arms is pleased to announce the creation of a dynamic new series of performance-driven rifles designed for the most rugged and demanding hunts: The Backcountry Xtreme Series. These rifles are purpose-built and define the top tier of the 110 hunting line. Though each is unique, they all embody the most functional refinements Savage builds into its bolt action designs. These 110s can do it all.

“The Model 110 has been evolving for more than six decades,” said Jessica Treglia, Sr. Brand Manager at Savage Arms. “That’s longer than any other bolt-action rifle in production. The new Backcountry Xtreme Series is building on this legacy. These rifles mark the apex of the 110’s incredible journey. These rifles are more capable than any 110’s we’ve ever built. They feature protective finishes, innovative product features, and the best of our patented technologies. These rifles have premium features added and can do it all. The Backcountry Xtreme Series shows what it means to be Savage.”

The extras that define the Backcountry Xtreme Series are all built on the tested foundations that make the 110 so successful. AccuTrigger™ allows users to set pull weights as low as 1.5 pounds. AccuStock™ provides the receiver with the solid bedding needed for repeat accuracy, and AccuFit™ allows for a tailored fit—without the need of a gunsmith.

With the official designation of the Backcountry Xtreme Series, Savage is launching two new Model 110s:

The 110 Ultralite Camo:

Savage teamed up with PROOF Research® to craft a 110 that comes in under 6 pounds. The carbon fiber wrapped stainless steel barrel and melonite skeletonized receiver help minimize weight. This new Ultralite features a KUIU® Verde 2.0 camo for the ultimate concealment.

The 110 Timberline:

The 110 Timberline is built to maximize accuracy with a fluted barrel, overmold surfaces, target crown, and omni-port muzzlebrake. The Model 110 action is secured three-dimensionally along its entire length within the AccuStock internal chassis and AccuFit system lets hunters customize length-of-pull and comb height of the Realtree® Excape synthetic stock. The OD Green Cerakote® on the barrel, receiver and other critical parts protects against corrosion. It will be available in both left-handed and right-handed configurations.

The full line of Backcountry Xtreme rifles can be found here, and include these models:

110 Bear Hunter: A true heavy hitter designed for dependability.

Rapid Growth Leads to Large Expansion for Riton Optics

Thursday, November 19th, 2020

Tucson, AZ (18 November 2020)- Former U.S. Air Force service member and Capitol Police Officer, Brady Speth started Riton Optics in 2013 with the initial consumer sales starting in 2016. What originated with scopes literally being sold out of a backpack, transformed into a well-developed, highly sought after product line that provides consumers with better value and service.

In those humble beginnings in 2013, Speth and his wife operated the company from their Arizona residence, designing and testing products with the support of Speth’s military and law enforcement relationships. In 2016, as enthusiasts became more familiar with this newcomer to the optics market, Riton made its first move into a commercial space on Tucson’s east side. In just one year, an adjacent space was acquired to double the space, in order to keep up with customer demand. Two years later in 2018, the company had again outgrown the building and expanded to a new facility to double their operations space.

After continued unprecedented growth in an additional two year time period, Riton once again outgrew their space and on October 23rd of this year, Riton celebrated the grand opening of their new building. With over 10,000 square feet of space and property for continual expansion, this beautiful new structure features an engaging front lobby area with custom displays, a full studio for media and significant floorspace for operations, quality control and warehousing.

Regarding the new space, Riton’s Chief Operating Officer, Carrie Speth commented, “There’s an indescribable sense of pride and gratitude when reflecting on where we started in the garage of our house to now multiple expansions in a few short years. The expansion allows us to continue our goal of providing consumers with the best value and service in the optics industry.”

Throughout this incredible journey of growth, Riton remains committed to the vision of providing the best value and service in the optics industry.

ZOLL Partners With US Air Force Research Laboratory to Improve How Combat Medics Treat Their Patients

Wednesday, November 18th, 2020

November 17, 2020 — CHELMSFORD, MASS. — ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory announced today the signing of a patent license agreement to make it easier for the deployed medic to document vitals, help administer critical care, integrate patient data and identify exact location of casualties in austere combat environments.

The agreement reinforces the integration of ZOLL’s Propaq patient monitors and monitor/defibrillators into the Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Observation Kit, or BATDOK, point-of-injury software tool. BATDOK is a trademark of the United States Air Force.

According to Dr. Gregory Burnett, airman-machine integration product line lead at the AFRL 711th Human Performance Wing, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, “The ability to monitor and document care for multiple patients from point of injury all the way through to a definitive care facility can improve quality and continuity of treatment for an injured service member.”

The integration of the Propaq monitors and monitor/defibrillators with the BATDOK software tool enables combat medics to wirelessly and automatically monitor multiple patients’ vitals simultaneously at the point of injury through medical evacuation, and follow-on transfer to the next level of care.

“This facilitates maximum awareness and documentation of in-field patient care while providing state-of-the-art patient monitoring and best-in-class diagnostic and resuscitation capabilities to the wounded service member,” said Jonathan A. Rennert, CEO of ZOLL.

The Propaq M and Propaq MD are ultra-lightweight, airworthy and telemedicine-capable monitors or monitor/defibrillators that provide advanced patient-monitoring capabilities. They are designed specifically for the rigors of military and aeromedical operations. Next to ZOLL´s portable ventilators, the EMV+ and the 330 Multifunction Aspirator, the Propaq M and MD are part of the standard patient movement item equipment for the different branches of the U.S. military and are essential critical care devices for many military medical corps worldwide.

For more than 25 years, ZOLL has been a trusted partner delivering acute critical care technologies to the military, Rennert explained. “ZOLL products are extensively utilized throughout the entire military healthcare system in support of the warfighter and casualty care treatment within all roles of operational En-Route Care System, disaster and humanitarian response.”

“ZOLL’s leading resuscitation and critical care technologies are field-proven in all roles of operational medical care on the battlefield, in aeromedical evacuation and transport, in field hospitals and in garrison for definitive care,” he added.

Built in the “wildfire black” colorway with the same zippers, 500D CORDURA® fabric, and detailed pops of orange like our fire packs, 10% of proceeds from these unique packs will fund the scholarship and winning contributors will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Contributors will receive much needed scholarships to support their education and life after firefighting. Winners will be selected anonymously throughout the duration of the campaign.

To qualify for the MYSTERY RANCH Backbone Scholarship, you must be a US or Canadian Wildland Fire employee, retiree, or spouse of a current or retired Wildland Fire employee and a profile contributor for the Backbone Series. B&T Makes A Once In A Lifetime Offer – Own The Sub Compact Weapon Chosen By The United States Army

Wednesday, November 18th, 2020

The Advanced Police Carbine (APC) series was developed to meet and exceed the demands of modern police, special forces, and military units around the world and represents the ultimate in performance, reliability and accuracy. For these reasons, the United States Army selected the APC9K as its Sub Compact Weapon (SCW) to support global personal protective missions.

In recognition of the initial delivery of 333 SCW’s, B&T commissioned 350 SCW-serialized APC9K PRO models, 333 of which will be made available exclusively to US-based collectors.

Commemorative Case Includes:

DEPLOYMENT

The APC9K is expected to be issued to, and employed by, Personal Security Details (PSD) personnel tasked with protecting senior United States Army leaders, and other principles traveling to less secure areas. An operational need was identified for a highly concealable sub compact weapon system capable of engaging threat personnel with a high volume of lethal and accurate fire at close ranges, with minimal collateral damage — a compact submachine gun fills this niche. The APC9K was procured to fill this capability gap in lethality and concealability; essentially bridging the gap between pistol and rifle.

The APC9K accomplishes this, in spades. At less than 15-inches in length, the AP9K is an incredibly concealable platform optimized for low visibility carriage and discreet deployment; use in and around vehicles, and within confined spaces — all while delivering unsurpassed accuracy, controllability and ergonomics.

RUAG International Implements Full Remote Supervision Support for Live Simulation & Training System to Include AAR

Tuesday, November 17th, 2020

Bern, Switzerland, 16 November 2020. RUAG Simulation & Training has confirmed its capabilities for full remote monitoring and supervision support for Live training systems on behalf of a European customer. The comprehensive event specifically featured the inclusion of after-action review (AAR) reporting and analysis and was provided to full customer satisfaction. The remote supervision was supported from Switzerland and enabled the customer’s scheduled training to proceed in keeping with pandemic guidelines. RUAG Simulation & Training supported army and police forces, deploying force-on-force and Mobile Combat Training Center (CTC) services featuring Gladiator Modular Tactical Engagement Training System.

RUAG Simulation & Training’s competency for full remote supervision, including data transfer necessary to AAR, was proven within the scope of laser-based force-on-force training exercises. The implementation of the remote protocols was a prerequisite to ensuring highest training fidelity despite COVID-19 pandemic conditions. Remote supervision offset the need for the standard on- site presence of two to four professional supervisors, assuring that international travel from Switzerland was avoided. The customer experienced a reliable and realistic training and a thorough and accurate AAR debriefing, all within their protected training-site environment.

The scheduled training, featuring a special operations program, proceeded according to plan, with multiple units and their various specialisations included within the Live system. RUAG’s Gladiator Supervision Equipment ensured the data transmitted from positioning and interaction sensors, from the various modules, components and participants comprised in the Mobile CTC Live system, was recorded and analysed for an effective AAR.

This achievement strengthened collaboration in an ongoing series of comprehensive laser-based force-on-force trainings commissioned by the customer. The Training-as-a-Service approach included full rental of Gladiator Modular Tactical Engagement Training System components and local consultants for operational system checks and servicing. Together with the customer, the team from RUAG Simulation & Training defined system configuration and component needs to target highest training fidelity and performance accuracy within budget guidelines.

RUAG Simulation & Training AG is a professional and trusted partner for Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) simulation & training solutions. Combining cutting-edge technology with an unparalleled depth of experience, RUAG develops affordable products tailored to training goals and designed for saving lives and protecting assets in the complex environment of today’s and tomorrow’s battlefields.
