Leupold and L3 Team Awarded Contract to Deliver Prototypes to U.S. Army For Next-Gen Squad Weapon Fire Control Solution

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., provider of the world’s most rugged, lightweight, and clear riflescopes, is pleased to announce that L3Harris has been awarded a contract in partnership with Leupold to deliver 115 production prototypes to the United States Army for the Next Generation Squad Weapon Fire Control (NGSW-FC) Program. The NGSW-FC will replace traditional direct view optics currently fielded by the Army.

The NSGW-FC provides an integrated approach to targeting by combining range-finding capability, ballistic computation, and environmental sensors that increase the probability of accurate targeting while decreasing the time to engage a threat. Leupold and L3 have partnered to deliver a game-changing solution to the United States military. The optic ultimately selected for the NGSW-FC will support many of the current and future weapon platforms utilized by the Army. Both Leupold and L3Harris have held numerous military contracts in the past.

DroneShield Releases RfPatrol MKII

DroneShield Ltd (ASX:DRO) (“DroneShield” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the release of the next generation version of its body-worn drone detection device, RfPatrol MKIITM.

The original RfPatrolTM was released in May 2019, having proven to be a well-regarded product, with purchases by a number of high profile customers around the world.

The device is completely passive (non-emitting), substantially broadening the range of customers to whom the product is lawfully available, and also appealing to use cases where the device cannot be detectable to the enermy forces due to having no emissions.

The next generation of the product is approximately 40% smaller in size, with a reduced weight of 800g (including battery), further ruddedization, as well as a range of further enhancements requested by the end users following last 12 months of in-field deployments.

Mack Defense Awarded Contract from US General Services Administration

ALLENTOWN, PA (April 22, 2020) – Mack Defense has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to supply the full range of Mack-branded products to federal agencies for a variety of applications. The one-year contract, which runs to January 2021, includes two additional GSA-optioned one-year extensions, which could push the contract through 2022.

“With this contract in place, fleet managers in more than 300 federal agencies have a one-stop shop where they can select commercial Mack vehicles and parts to address their needs,” said Nicole Zelno, Mack Defense senior manager, contracts and bid/orders. “We look forward to working with the GSA to fulfill our contract with durable, reliable Mack trucks, all of which are assembled here in the U.S.A.”

Mack Defense has been a GSA contract holder since 2015 and has supplied various federal government agencies with Mack Trucks products as part of these contracts.  

The GSA is an independent agency of the United States government established in 1949 to help manage and support the basic functioning of federal agencies. GSA acquires and supplies products and communications for U.S. government offices, provides transportation and office space to federal employees, and develops government-wide cost-minimizing policies and other management tasks.

The advanced SureFire ProComp muzzle brake, greatly reduces both recoil impulse and muzzle rise so that the weapon tracks straight back to keep you on target for faster shot-to-shot recovery. Its patented Impulse Diffusion design minimizes side blast and rear-directed concussion effects. The ProComp duplicates the design of the SureFire SOCOM SFMB muzzle brake, but unlike the latter it cannot be used to mount SureFire SOCOM suppressors. The ProComp is offered in both 5.56 and 7.62.

Persistent Systems Unveils New L-Band Version Of Integrated Sector Antenna

Easy-to-mount L-Band unit offers affordable, extended coverage networking in remote areas

NEW YORK, New York—Persistent Systems, LLC (“Persistent”) announced today the release an L-Band Integrated Sector Antenna, designed to support high-bandwidth network users on forward operating bases, test ranges, and other remote or sprawling military sites.

The L-Band Integrated Sector Antenna, a part of the Integrated Antenna Series line of products, directly incorporates the same highly scalable Wave Relay® mobile ad hoc network (MANET) as Persistent’s MPU5 tactical networking device. It encapsulates a 10W L-Band RF module within a 12 dBi sector antenna to provide 90° beam width of unprecedented range and performance. With the MPU5, military operators can share voice, video, text, location, and sensor data while on the move.

“The L-Band sector antenna, working in conjunction with a fixed directional antenna, as part of our Integrated Antenna Series, extends the reach of these MPU5 users,” said Louis Sutherland, VP of Business Development at Persistent Systems, “so they can connect all the way back to the enterprise network.”

This gives users access to additional sensors and software, making operators more effective in the field.

The weather-protected L-Band sector antenna can be mounted on a pole, tower or building and can blanket large areas. The combination of the antenna and the network in one device, plus a simple mounting bracket and single cable for power and data, makes it extremely fast and easy to deploy.

Sutherland expects the full range of the Integrated Antenna Series to be a game-changer. “When covering hundreds of miles, speed and simplicity of installation become the limiting factor. These antennas were purpose-built to reduce this time, cost, and complexity,” he said.
