Test Drive an AttackPAK at SOF Week

Tuesday, May 6th, 2025

We’ve improved everything about carrying heavy battle kit.

AttackPAK builds better kit for soldiers, focused on improving the ergonomics of carrying heavy equipment, enhancing human performance, and preventing injury. Too many dudes are living life in pain caused by carrying heavy equipment improperly with all of the weight of their kit on their shoulders and spine, resulting in crushed spinal discs and nerve damage. It doesn’t matter how much you work-out spinal discs and nerves don’t get stronger. One miss step can be a career ender.

The human body is better suited to carry heavy equipment on the stronger hips and legs like mountaineers have been doing for decades. Until the AttackPAK Integrated Load Carriage that hasn’t been possible. Gun belts, body armor, and backpacks are not compatible so soldiers don’t use the pack belt, and tie it out of the way. This design fixes that and improves everything that is flawed with legacy packs.

Improvements:
– Better ergonomics
– Lighter weight
– Less expensive
– Easier to balance
– Quick ditch, easy don
– Mission adaptable
– Upgrades legacy equipment

The system is built with a 2oz Gravity Pocket™ on the back of your gun belt, combined with a 6oz Spine™ that goes into your plate carrier to redistribute the weight of your plate carrier off your shoulders and onto your hips. A 16oz Spine™ goes into your ruck and also plugs into the Gravity Pocket™. Both Spines™ quick ditch and are easy to don by yourself.

Wraith Mod Payload family of RF and wireless solutions to accelerate deployments of
new advanced covert mission capabilities across airborne and maritime UxS platforms

Montreal, Canada — May 6, 2025 — Octasic Inc. and Octasic US Inc. today announced its collaborative launch of Wraith, a portfolio of ‘Mod Payload’ ultra-compact, multi-mission solutions that bring specialized radio frequency and other wireless functions to the modern signals intelligence warfighter.

Purpose-built to meet the USSOCOM Modular Payload Standard, Wraith solves many tactical edge issues all at once, including reliability, interchangeability and maintainability, faster in-field replacements, and a reduction in life cycle costs for all relevant EW/EA, SIGINT, PSYOPS/CMAS, C5ISR, and Cyber systems.

“Wraith embodies our vision for the next generation of modular, mission-adaptable payloads,” said Sébastien Leblanc, CEO of Octasic. “It delivers the advanced wireless capabilities forces need to protect, deter, and respond with precision across today’s complex operational environments.”

“Spectrum dominance starts with the right payloads on the right platforms,” said Greg Gerou, President and General Manager of Octasic US. “Wraith is engineered to help our partners close capability gaps and maintain operational advantage in a fast-moving threat environment.”

Recognized globally by public and national security organizations, Octasic is seeking to expand its wireless signal processing and advanced 5G SA detection, localization, and geolocation capabilities to the defense market.

Wraith solutions address this by leveraging the deep Octasic expertise in highly integrated Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies that offer best-in-class low size, weight, and power payload designs for Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs), Uncrewed Underwater Vehicles (UUVs), and even larger crewed airborne craft.

The Wraith payload system roadmap includes a range of RF Front End options to meet mission altitude and performance requirements.

To reduce the time and complexity for crews to swap capabilities down range ‘modularity’ is the winning strategy. It enables incremental improvements of components, subsystems, software, and mixing-and-matching capabilities according to objectives. The arsenal of the future is a drone fleet that benefits from updatable software libraries and plug-and-play payloads.

Wraith will be showcased at Octasic Booth #1317 during SOF Week in Tampa, Florida, from May 6–8, 2025.

Availability: General availability of Wraith is expected by Q4, 2025.

Viasat Unveils MOJO Mini Next as Latest Advanced Technology for Tactical Military Communications and Situational Awareness

Monday, May 5th, 2025

Company expands MOJO product family with its most compact tactical gateway to integrate disparate air, sea and land communications into a single view

CARLSBAD, Calif., May 5, 2025 – Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), a global leader in satellite communications, today announced the introduction of the Move Out/Jump Off (MOJO) Mini Next, the latest in Viasat’s family of expeditionary tactical gateways. The MOJO Mini Next was designed to deliver a compact and ruggedized Link 16 Tactical Data Link situational awareness capability for at-the-pause or on-the-move applications across environments.

With increasing demand for rapidly deployable and SWaP (size, weight and power)-optimized tactical solutions, Viasat’s MOJO Mini Next provides a cost-effective alternative to larger, infrastructure-heavy, gateway solutions supporting expeditionary, on-the-move communications. Developed under Viasat’s Defense and Advanced Technologies segment, the MOJO Mini Next is a line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond line of sight (BLOS) system, offering increased mobile and tactical capabilities to centralize communications of expeditionary data and intelligence into a common operating picture (COP). This enables heightened situational awareness for command and control (C2), targeting, and real-time decisions that support mission operations and reduce the risk of fratricide.

“As military operations integrate new technologies and applications to support global missions, Viasat is helping connect those technologies to enable seamless, reliable and resilient information sharing to improve situational awareness,” said David Schmolke, Vice President of Mission Connections and Cybersecurity, Viasat Government.

The MOJO Mini Next provides customers with real-time air/ground situational awareness and network functions on the go, and connects into customers’ existing system architecture. Ideal for SWaP constrained applications, including small vehicles and boats, the system can be rapidly set up and deployed by one person in minutes and the low-SWaP design eliminates the logistical needs and cost of transporting, installing and maintaining traditional gateway infrastructure. This next-generation tactical gateway offers the interoperability and modularity to support different mission applications using different waveforms.

Schmolke continued, “MOJO Mini Next can integrate disparate intelligence sources into a common operating picture that enhances customers’ real-time decision-making and C2 in a small, ruggedized form factor for greater flexibility. We collaborate with government customers to really understand the tactical mission requirements and the MOJO Mini Next is another example of how Viasat evolves its solutions to meet changing needs.”

The MOJO Mini Next was developed based on user feedback to respond to dynamic operational demands. Designed to work with the KOR-24A Small Tactical Terminal, this innovative tactical solution will enable rapid network convergence across Link 16, Tactical Digital Information Link J (TADIL-J), and Very High Frequency/Ultra High Frequency (VHF/UHF) networking in a compact package. Using an external host computer, operators can select their own applications and external displays to best suit their situational awareness needs.

Visit Viasat’s website to learn more about Viasat’s Expeditionary Tactical Gateways and the MOJO product family, and see how the MOJO Mini Next can support tactical operations.
