Designed for use when an ultra-compact platform with a minimal stored footprint is required.

MPA-MUTMPA MUT Standard Rifle

Comer, Ga. (February 2018) – MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturers of the MPA BA Rifles and Chassis Systems, is pleased to introduce the MPA Micro Urban Tactical (MUT) 308BA Rifle. This purpose driven rifle was designed to be used when an ultra-compact platform with a minimal stored footprint is required, all while achieving sub ½ MOA accuracy. Watch the video below:

Masterpiece Arms MPA MUT Rifle

The MPA Light Weight Chassis System is machined on MPA’s CNC Horizontal Machining Centers to exacting tolerances from 6061 aluminum. The v-bedding system provides additional clearance for glass bedding action and straight section of the barrel. The chassis also includes a built-in inclinometer, thumb notch, lower mounted Picatinny Rail and is spigot mount ready. The spigot mount is designed to be inserted in the front of the chassis to provide an extended distance between the front bipod and the rear support. A sling stud can replace the Picatinny rail if the customer desires.

MPA-CSR-Buttstock-a

The specially designed folding Compact Suppressor Ready (CSR) Buttstock comes with an adjustable length of pull and can store a suppressor up to 1.5″ in diameter (1.570″) and 8.5″ in length. This can take a suppressed rifle measuring up to 48″ in length and reduce the overall length to 23.5″ with the suppressor stored in the buttsock and folded/locked into a short barreled rifle (SBR) configuration.

The MPA MUT 308BA Rifle includes a precision gun drilled, reamed and honed Spencer / MPA rifle barrel made from 416RQ stainless steel. The hand lapped barrel is bore and land inspected on a video borescope. The chamber is indicated within 0.0001″ or less to the bore of the rifle. The Spiral Fluted One Piece Bolt with DLC coating is hand lapped and fitted to each individual action. The rifle is available as an SBR with a barrel length of 12.75″ or as a standard rifle with a barrel length of 16″ or longer.

PEO Soldier Checks Out LSAT

Wednesday, February 21st, 2018

Originally an AAI (now part of Textron Systems) science project, under the auspices of several different government programs, the Lightweight Small Arms Technology weapon and its Cased Telescoped has been under development for decades (and untold millions in development costs).

Here, BG Anthony “Tony” Potts, Program Executive Officer Soldier, fires the 5.56mm Cased Telescoped Light Machine Gun Feb. 14 during a visit to Textron Systems.

The CT LMG with 1,000 rounds weighs 28.5 pounds vs. an M249 with 1,000 rounds weighing 48.9 pounds. That’s pretty impressive. The favored technology for the Army’s upcoming Next Generation Squad Automatic Weapon program, is the TC round which will not fire from existing weapons in the Army’s inventory and current ammunition will not fire from the LSAT weapon. Although, the ammunition is lighter, you’ve got to have the right weapon to fire it. Conversely, current ammunition could also be lightened by going to a polymer case. And then, there’s the whole issue of reducing stoppages on LSAT, which requires the weapon to be dismantled.

Can’t wait to see how it performs in source selection. The IC criteria set the bar pretty high.

Atlas Gunworks Announces the Nemesis Pistol

Tuesday, February 20th, 2018

North Ferrisburgh, VT – Atlas Gunworks has announced the ultimate competition pistol designed for USPSA Limited Division shooters. The Nemesis double-stack .40 caliber pistol provides shooters with a distinct advantage over those using traditional guns.

atlas-gunworks-nemesis-16-of-17.jpg

The Nemesis’ unique feature is a fixed front sight block. This block delivers the benefits of a shorter lightened slide, less reciprocating mass, improved balance point, additional weight at the end of the barrel, and a front sight that doesn’t move with the slide. “The Nemesis truly is an amazing pistol for Limited shooters. Recoil is softer and flatter than traditional guns allowing the gun to return to true zero. The sight system allows for faster shooting and follow up shots that are always closer to true zero,” said Atlas President Adam Nislon.

The Nemesis shares the features of other Atlas guns including a tri-top and lightened slide, PT EVO grip, X-Line Vario trigger, KKM 5” bull barrel, flared ejection port and competition magwells. A super-hard DLC coating is standard.

Staying true to their commitment to short wait times, the Atlas Gunworks Nemesis ships in less than 3 months. For more information visit atlasgunworks.com/atlas-nemesis-sight-blockor call 855-940-1911.

Q Mini Fix

Wednesday, February 14th, 2018

Q has expanded their firearms offering with the introduction of Mini Fix, seen here nestled between The Fix and Honey Badger. Q founder, Kevin Brittingham, shared some information on this new design with us.

IMG_6494

The Q Mini Fix is a scaled down version of The Fix bolt gun with a receiver that is 1/2″ shorter. Designed to fit M4 magazines, the Mini Fix will be offered in pistol (300 BLK) and rifle (224 Valkyrie) formats.

IMG_6510

The pistol Mini Fix features an 8″ 300 BLK barrel with 1:5 twist and a Q designed Stabilizing Brace built exclusively for this firearm by SB Tactical. The Q Brace is not depicted in any of these photos.

IMG_6500

The pistol has an overall length of 17″ including the mounted Cherry Bomb muzzle brake, which accepts the Trash Panda and Thunder Chicken silencers. There is also a full length top Pic rail and the handguard covers the 8″ barrel. Here are some photos to give you an idea of how long it is.

As you can see, this model with the stock from The Fix weighs 4lbs 11oz, but it will weigh even less once the Q Brace is installed.

IMG_6502

The rifle Mini Fix in 224 Valkyrie will come with a Q match barrel and the folding stock from The Fix.

IMG_6493

As an aside, Brittingham told me that so far, they are seeing the best performance for the .224 when using PRI 6.8 magazines, although they continue to evaluate others. The rifle will ship with what they determine is best.

IMG_6492

Brittingham related that at this point, the final detail they haven’t worked out yet, is whether they’ll incorporate M-Lok or use Q-Sert for attachments. Q-Sert is machined from 17-4 rectangular stock with an anchor at the back and pressed into place. Below is an image which shows two handguard. The top incorporates Q-Sert, while the bottom is constructed to the M-Lok standard.

Both versions are only available in the clear hard coat anodizing seen in the photos. The anodizing will look slightly different with each material so you won’t get a uniform hue across the entire gun, but it’s one of the many features which makes the Mini Fix different from everything else on the market.

1F5D2BAE-79CE-42C1-BFC4-7F1643BE12F4

Mini Fix is an adaptable design and a fixed stock and hinge adapter will be available. This way, a pistol owner may register it as an SBR, if desired. Additionally, Brittingham tells me he expects to offer .223 and 6.5 Grendel barrels.

CF24ACD1-107D-4834-A519-CBE33E39C5A7

Because Mini Fix features 80% parts commonality with The Fix, production is already in progress with shipping planned for late 2nd Quarter, 2018.

To pre-order, you’ll need to first make a $100 donation to Special Operations Care Fund and then pay half of the $2699 up front, to Q.
