Magpul Announces Three New Eyepro Models

Magpul is expanding their line of protective eyewear with three new models: Defiant, Apex and Helix.

All three models will be available in both Polarized and Non-Polarized versions.

Defiant:

• Frames are constructed of TR90NZZ and combine lightweight construction and ballistic protection, providing rugged strength and flexibility
• Ballistic Rating: Z87+
• Medium / Large fit profile
• Anti-slip rubber nose pads and temple pads for increased retention and comfort
• Oleophobic lenses repel water and provide oil, sweat, sunscreen and other chemical protection
• Anti-reflective coating on inside of lenses minimizes distracting reflections
• Anti-fog coating keeps your lenses clear and free from condensation
• Coated stainless steel pins provide simple but dependable hinge functionality
• Low-profile temple design maintains comfort and function while wearing hats or over the ear hearing protection
• Polarized and non-polarized lens options
• Lenses are removable for easy maintenance and changing conditions

Apex:

• Constructed of TR90NZZ, the 8 base frames combine lightweight construction and ballistic protection, providing rugged strength, flexibility, and lateral eye and temple protection
• Ballistic Rated Z87+ and MIL-PRF 32432 lenses and frames meet both high velocity impact protection and safety ratings
• Medium to large fit profile
• Oleophobic lenses repel water and provide oil, sweat, sunscreen, and other chemical protection
• Anti-reflective coating on inside of lenses minimizes distracting reflection
• Padded, low profile temples integrate with over-the-ear-hearing protection and communication headsets
• Coated stainless steel pins provide simple but dependable hinge functionality
• Anti-slip rubber nose and temple pads
• Polarized and Non-Polarized lens options

Helix:

• Frames constructed of TR90NZZ, combining lightweight construction and ballistic protection

Pixels on Target to Launch the Next Generation of Thermal Optics at 2020 SHOT Show

Pixels on Target LLC will formally launch the VooDoo Family of Thermal Sights at the 2020 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV, January 20-24, 2020.  The VooDoo Family of Thermal Sights includes the VooDoo-S Short/Medium Range Multi-Mission Sight, and the VooDoo-M Medium/Long Range Multi-Mission Sight.  Both sights utilize 12 micron, 640×480 resolution cores and provide best-in-class accuracy at less than 1 Minute of Angle (MOA).  Designed around military requirements, the VooDoo Family of Thermal Sights are Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items that are simultaneously available to Law Enforcement, Security, and Precision Shooting customers.

The VooDoo-S, debuted as a prototype at the 2019 SOFIC Conference, is now in full production.  VooDoo-S can be used as a hand-held device, helmet-mounted viewer, stand-alone sight, and true clip-on sight.  At under 10 ounces, the VooDoo-S is the smallest 12 micron weapon sight available, providing effective target engagement range at 500 meters.

The VooDoo-M will debut at SHOT Show 2020, and is now in full production.  It can be used as a hand-held viewer, stand alone sight, and true clip-on sight, providing effective target engagement at 1500 meters.  At only 18 ounces, the VooDoo-M is the smallest, lightest thermal sight to provide this range and peformance.  VooDoo-M also includes dual aiming lasers in near-IR and visible.  

The VooDoo-S and VooDoo-M Sights will be demonstrated at the ATAC Range Day on Monday January 20, and will be on display at the SHOT Show in Booth # 30103 with our distribution partner TSSI, and at Booth # 6503 with TNVC.  ATAC Range Day and the SHOT Show are not open to the public, and require registration.  ATAC Range Day registration can be completed at RANGEDAY.ATACGLOBAL.COM.

Remington Announces Sponsorship of Season 2 of WILDCraft on Amazon Prime

Remington joins Land Rover and BF Goodrich in sponsoring this eight-episode, reality based production, WILDCraft: Texas Overland Adventure.

Following on the heels of a very successful Season One —WILDCraft: South Africa, on Season Two, cast members Ron Spomer, Luke Hartle, Richard Mann, and African professional hunter Geoffrey Wayland, will hunt in West Texas along the Davis Mountain Range with Backcounty Hunts for free-range Aoudad. Viewers will get a realistic look at hunting as the cast overlands across the rugged terrain of West Texas, hunting from and living out of brand new Land Rover Defenders. This eight episode series will be available on demand for streaming, direct from Amazon Prime instant Video in early fall of 2020.

Candice Horner Named Union Sportsmen’s Alliance Digital Communications Manager

The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA) is proud to announce the addition of Candice Horner as the organization’s digital communications manager.

Horner is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, competitive shooter, social media expert, distinguished outdoor writer and avid hunter. She is also a proud labor union member and supporter, having served as a registered nurse and an executive board member for AFGE Local 408 with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

A seasoned communicator, Horner’s most recent role was an editor for RECOIL Group and its companion website, RECOILweb.com. She has also written for a number of other hunting and shooting media outlets. Horner is also a decorated professional shooter, with an extensive track record of top finishes at national long-range and multi-gun matches.

Hailing from Box Springs, Georgia, Horner will oversee the USA’s social media efforts, website, and other digital communications. She will also aid in production and promotion of the USA’s Brotherhood Outdoors television programming and Union Sportsmen’s Journal magazine.
