Advanced Holster, the Fayetteville-based company who you may remember being behind the ‘Snatch N’ Grab’ Modular Loadout Panel, will soon be offering their own ALG Defense 6-Second Mount-compatible holster.

2

Advanced Holster originally developed specialized holsters for use with a select unit. The holsters were designed to have adjustable retention, fit on Safariland mounting platforms, and fit a full-size Glock with the following accessories:

– 6 Second Mount
– External Compensator
– Surefire X-series Weapon Light

3

Now that ALG Defense has released the 6-Second Mount to the commercial market, Advanced Holster plans to do the same with a variant of the holster they developed.

Info From The Glock G43 Live Stream

March 20th, 2015

Today, Glock hosted a live stream event where they revealed details on the recently announced G43 9mm single stack pistol. We took a few notes and screen captures from the event, which can be seen below.

G43

The G43 is not a straight-up GEN 4 pistol. It does incorporate GEN 4 features such as the larger magazine catch and dual recoil spring assembly, however the grip texture is not as aggressive as GEN 4 models, and the grip features no finger grooves. Additionally, the G43 will not feature a backstrap system, but does have an extended beavertail. The G43 also features a 2 pin frame.

G43 G26

When compared to the G26, the G43 is 4oz lighter, and overall a quarter inch smaller.

The G43 reportedly works with most soft holsters that were developed for the G42, however it will not work with hard G42 holsters such as those made from Kydex. This is due to the larger size of the G43.

Extended mag

The G43 comes standard with 2 magazines. One is flushfit with the grip, the other features a grip extension. However, both mags fit 6 rounds. Seen above is the magazine with the grip extension.

serrated trigger

The G43 features a serrated trigger. This is an option that adds points to the weapon for the purpose of importation. The trigger pull is 5.5lbs standard.

Some additional facts brought in by the Q&A session during the stream:

– Night Sights will be available after launch, around May – June.

– The G43 is not California compliant.

– MSRP is $580. In-store prices are expected to be around $450 – $525.

– The slide features the same finish as all current production pistols.

– The G43 will not feature an accessory rail.

dummy rounds

– Glock will be releasing dummy rounds around the same time as the G43. These rounds come in 9mm, .40, and .45 ACP. Edit: These will come in the above packaging, and will include 50 dummy rounds per box.

– The G43 has been tested to handle +P ammo.

Oh, and if you were curious, Glock has no plans as of now to introduce a .40 single stack to the market.

Additional information from the second stream: The G43 will initially be manufactured in Austria and imported to the States along with international distribution. Later on, Glock plans to manufacture the G43 in the USA.

If you’re interested in viewing the stream for yourself, there will be a second stream at 1800 EST today. You can view it here: glock.yourbrandlive.com/c/live_from_glock_2015

SMYRNA, Ga – (Mar. 20, 2015) – Today GLOCK, Inc. announced the release of the new GLOCK single stack slimline 9mm pistol, the GLOCK 43. The G43 is the most highly desired and anticipated pistol release in GLOCKs history. Designed to be the answer to everyday concealed carry needs, the G43 is ultra-concealable, accurate, and comfortable for all shooters, regardless of hand size.

PenCott Camouflage Shows Up On ‘House Of Cards’

March 20th, 2015

Hyde Definition’s PenCott BadLands and GreenZone camouflage patterns are featured in the latest season of ‘House of Cards’. The full release can be read below, and beware, there are some spoilers:

1

Hyde Definition’s cutting-edge PenCott-BadLands™ and PenCott-GreenZone™ camouflage patterns continue to show up in interesting places – this time they are featured in Season 3 of the award-winning Netflix drama “House of Cards”.

Caution, this announcement carries a SPOILER ALERT…

Seen in a crucial and dramatic segment of Season 3; PenCott™ camouflage patterns are seen in use by ‘Russian’ soldiers taking part in a peacekeeping mission in the Middle East. The Russian soldiers are seen wearing BadLands™ uniforms, whereas GreenZone™ uniforms are worn by the Russian officers and by Russian President Petrov. All of the PenCott camouflage uniforms used are the CPU (Combat Patrol Uniform) model made by Polish company Helikon-Tex.

2

In the latter part of Chapter 36, US President Underwood and Russian President Petrov hold a secret meeting in the Jordan Valley to try and resolve a crisis concerning the peacekeeping mission there. In the segment President Underwood (played by Emmy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey) wears an OCP/MultiCam ACU, and President Petrov (played by Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen – renowned for his roles in ‘The Killing’ and ‘Sherlock’) wears a GreenZone™ CPU.

As real Russian Army ‘Digital-Flora’ uniforms are hard to come by, the ‘House of Cards’ costume department selected GreenZone™ and BadLands™ pattern uniforms as stand-ins. Together with help from their retail partners, and with MMI Textiles also helping to supply some spare fabric, Hyde Definition and Helikon-Tex were able to rapidly assemble the sizes and quantities of uniforms and caps that were needed and deliver them in time to meet a tight filming schedule.
