Blitzkrieg Components – Chevron Front Sight Post

Blitzkreig Components has released a replacement Chevron front post for AR-15 iron sights. Precision machined from 416 stainless steel, Blitzkrieg claims the chevron tip gives the shooter a sharp aiming point for precise aiming, while the bold shape is easy to see and pick up without obscuring the target. Seen above is the luminescent green stripe model, which provides an improved sight picture in low light environments. Only the side towards the shooter is painted, so there is no glow towards the enemy.

It’s worth noting that the Chevron post has been tested to fit most AR-15 front sight housings that use a standard threaded post, including those by Troy, Daniel Defense, Diamond Head, PRI, GG&G, and Magpul. It will not work with the MBUS Pro front sight, or LWRC Skirmish sights.

The Chevron front post is also available in all black and white stripe. Comes with a front sight tool.

OFFPISTE: The ‘UltraPack’ That Moves With You On Kickstarter

OFFPISTE is currently seeking funding for an UltraPack currently up on KickStarter. Capable of holding 7 liters + 3 extendable liters, this UltraPack is highly versatile and designed for use with all levels of physical activity.

The triangular shape of the UltraPack and the high degree of modularity makes it a great option for hiking, running, kayaking, or general use. Its shape allows for complete freedom of movement in the chest and shoulders while still allowing easy access to any internal items. It’s also adjustable to be worn on either shoulder by adjusting the main strap to either side.

OFFPISTE has developed multiple modules for the pack such as the LightPack Modular Pouch, a hydration system water bladder, camera pouch, water bottle wrap holder, and more. They will also be offering the finalized UltraPack in multiple colors.

Coast To Coast Ride For The Fallen

Coast To Coast Ride For The Fallen is an upcoming charitable endeavor in which a man named Cris is going to ride his BMW r90 motorcycle across the USA, from California to North Carolina. The trip is in honor of SFC Ryan Savard, who lost his life due to injuries sustained from heavy machine gun fire in Konduz Province, Afghanistan, and other Soldiers like him.

The ride will raise funds for the families of those who lost their lives. Cris will be active through social media, asking other riders to join him on his journey East. He will also stop in key locations to promote the actions of Ryan Savard, and to educate the population on those who sacrificed themselves for their country.

ATS Tactical Gear – Medical Triage Lights

ATS Tactical Gear has released two new medical triage lights, the MTM and P2. Each light measures 3 5/8″ x 2″ and are 1/4″ thick. 3M adhesive Velcro hook backing allows the light to be fixed to anyone or anything which has Velcro loop.

The MTM features a red LED with a 200 hour run time. The light is controlled by an on/off switch. It is capable of operation times of one and three hours. The light can also be turned off at any time.

The P2 is a casualty assessment tool that can run up to 160 hours. It can be switched between four color modes: red, green, yellow, and blue. When initiated, the light will be in a constant on state for 5 minutes followed by a flash once every second for 55 minutes, which indicates that the patient may need reassessment.

FN HERSTAL Adopts A Multi-caliber And Multi-weapon Product Approach For Its Airborne Pintle Mounted Weapon Systems

(McLean, VA – October 13, 2014) FN Herstal, a world leader of small caliber weapon systems, teams with Dillon Aero to add to its portfolio of FN MAG® 58M and FN M3M™ (GAU-21) machine guns, the Dillon Aero M134D Gatling Gun as an additional option to its airborne pintle mounted systems. FN Herstal airborne pintles are now capable of connecting either to the FN MAG® 58M, the FN M3M™ or the M134D, with all three variants being qualified by FN Herstal. AUSA – WL Gore Expands Flame Retardant Offerings

W.L. Gore & Associates has announced it will be featuring its expanded line of FR military apparel, consisting of several jackets. The Improved EWOL now features Pyrad face fabric rather than the Nomex fabric on the current model. I have long been a fan of Gore’s Pyrad technology which retains the performance of the base fabric yet adds FR capability.

AUSA – FirstSpear Demonstrates Equipment with Protective Products Enterprises

Pointblank (Protective Products Enterprises) has a guest in their booth. FirstSpear and Pointblank have entered into an exclusive agreement where FS is only offering PPE armor products in their vests including the new FBI package.

There’s been a lot of interest here at AUSA in the NOC, a low profile soft armorer solution we wrote about earlier this year. The NOC is scalable and offers up to 36 sizes with interchangeable front and rear panels as well as cummerbunds. Interestingly, FS has found that they can fit the 5th – 95th percentile wearer with as few as 9 sizes.
