May 16th, 2014Last year, we wrote about Trident Concepts’ TACOST (TAsk, COnditions, & STandards) card set, a series of firearms training drills based around a standard 52 card playing deck. Since the introduction of TACOST, only pistol drills have been available, however TRICON has now expanded the line to include rifle drills. Although the new set isn’t yet available on TRICON’s website, they did send a deck for us to check out.
Developed by Jeff Gonzales, TRICON’s TACOST (TAsk, COnditions & STandards) card set offers four different rifle training groups: marksmanship, speed, baseline, and dry fire, with 13 training exercises per group. These are kind of like training decks for other sports with different exercises or drills in this case on each card. The drills are clearly explained with information including range, rounds fired, point penalties, and a basic explanation. Additionally, the deck includes Legend and Safety Rules cards. In a pinch, the cards can also function as a full deck of playing cards, as they’re marked with all four suits and 13 ranks.

May 15th, 2014Attendees at today’s change of responsibility ceremony for PEO Soldier’s APM for Clothing and Individual Equipment under PM SPIE from LTC Wallace to the incoming LTC Bryan, claim that an announcement was made regarding the Army’s path forward for camouflage.
This is moving fast and we know some in industry are already receiving notification of the change. In fact, the mills already have fabric orders. Go Army!

TNVC – FUSION CQBL-1 Rail Clamp

Developed as a joint effort between Unity Tactical and TNVC, the FUSION CQBL-1 Rail Clamp is a modular, multi-purpose drop-in replacement rail clamp for the Laser Devices Inc CQBL-1 laser. The rail clamp is made from 6061-T6 aluminum with a type 3 hard coat anodized finish.
The CQBL-1 acts as a mount hub for the FUSION Ring Light Mount, Hub Extension, and Offset Rail, and also acts as a direct footprint for the SureFire M600C, M600U, and M300 Scout Light Series. Windage adjustment is still accessible, regardless of the light mounted.

This week’s post from Tactical-Life.com covers K9s For Warriors. K9s For Warriors, located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, is the largest provider of service dogs to disabled Veterans in the country. Privately funded, K9 For Warriors works personally with five Veterans a month, training and pairing them with a service dog. By December, they’ll have a new facility open which will allow for up to 16 Veterans to go through the program monthly.
