New England Warrior Benefit

June 19th, 2012

Join the New England Warrior Benefit, this July 3, 2012 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston for a celebration and Motorcycle Auction. Not only is the organization celebrating the service of our Special Operations Warriors, it is also honoring our Fallen as well as commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812. The event will include live entertainment as well as the presentation of several awards.

Additionally, the New England Warrior Benefit will raise money for five foundations that exist solely to support the families of our wounded and fallen warriors through a motorcycle auction. The group will auction five one-
of-a-kind Dirico bikes, commissioned to reflect each branch of the U.S. Special Operations Forces with proceeds going to an organization that supports that branch. I’ve got to tell you, the motorcycles are amazing and worth visiting the site just for a look at them alone. Online bidding is available for those who cannot attend the event.

There are still sponsorship opportunities for this once-in-a-lifetime event. Visit newarriorbenefit.org/contribute/ to help out.

Honor. Protect. Remember.
Now is the time to give back.

DDM4V5 300

June 19th, 2012

Daniel Defense is now offering the .300 Blackout version of their popular DDM4V5 unveiled at SHOT Show 2012. The carbine includes the new DDM4 rail we showed last week which incorporates a 4-bolt pattern clamp. The .300 Blackout (7.62 x 35) cartridge has seen increased popularity recently due to its ballistics which are similar to 7.62 x 39. However, the .300 round can be used in an AR platform with the correct barrel and fit a standard 5.56mm magazine. This means you use the same platform you’ve been training on and same manual of arms you are accustomed to. There’s no need to adopt an entirely new weapon.

The recoil is slightly more than a 5.56mm weapon and cartridge manufacturers offer a variety of loads to include subsonic rounds for use with suppressors.

Features include –
-Upper Receiver: Mil-Spec with Indexing Marks and M4 Feed Ramps
-Barrel: Cold Hammer Forged, 1:8 twist, 16″ S2W Profile, Carbine Gas System, MP tested, and Salt Bath Nitride Finished
-Chamber: 300 AAC Blackout
-Flash Hider: Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor
-Bolt Carrier Group: Mil-Spec MP Tested, Properly Staked Gas Key
-Gas Block: Daniel Defense Pinned Low Profile Gas Block
-Handguard: Daniel Defense DDM4 Rail 12.0
-Vertical Grip: Daniel Defense A2 Styling Vertical Grip
-Rail Cover: (3) Daniel Defense low profile rail ladders
-Weight(no sights): 7lbs 1oz
-Available with or without sights
-Made in the USA!

Considering that the .300 Blackout cartridge is idea for use with a suppressor, it would be great if Daniel Defense would offer a suppressor compatible flash hider.

The 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812

June 18th, 2012

The War of Independence may have established these United States as a sovereign nation but the War of 1812 removed any doubt. After years of aggression by British flagged vessels on the high seas, President James Madison signed on this day a declaration of war on the “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and the dependencies thereof.” Sure, the city of Washington was sacked and burned, but we prevailed in the end. Otherwise, there’d be spelling errors all over this website.
