Adams Industries – Vertical Slide Adapter For Existing Rhino Mounts

Tuesday, November 18th, 2014

AB-VSA on helmet DOWN

New from Adams Industries, the Vertical Slide Adapter For Rhino Helmet Mount is just that: a vertical slide adapter for the standard issue A3256368 Rhino NVG Helmet Mount. Designed by AB Night Vision Inc., the Vertical Slide Adapter is CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminum and hard anodized, with stainless steel latching springs and mounting screws. It’s designed to solve the lack of vertical adjustment offered by the issue Rhino mount, and readily installs directly into any standard helmet shroud.

Adams Industries Launches Helmet Mounted Binocular

bino mount 1

At Warrior West, Adams Industries showed me a prototype concept of a Steiner Binocular that had been modified with an adapter to fit on to a Night Vision Goggle Mount. The idea was that some folks in the reconnaissance and Call For Fire business wanted a means to mount a bino directly to the helmet and pulled down for use during daylight hours for magnified optics. After a few tweaks, the final result is the HELM-BINO-ST which includes the adapter and a STEINER 8×24 TACTICAL Binocular. This particular model was chosen as a balance between size, weight, performance and cost. When you need the magnified binocular vision, you pull them down into place and when they are not needed, you flip them up, just like NVGs. No more binos flopping around on your chest. No more wondering where they are, because they are handy. When it becomes too dark to use the binos, swap them out for NVGs.

Warrior Expo – Adams Industries/Norotos Inc RHNO II Helmet Mount

Tuesday, April 29th, 2014

Adams Industries shared their booth with the guys from Norotos, makers of night vision mounting systems. Based in Southern California, I enjoying seeing them each year at Warrior West. They’re both great companies with great products. You’ve probably seen one of Norotos’ shrouds such as the Universal Shroud. Last year, they won part of the Army helmet mount contract with the RHNO II seen here. Yes, it is being delivered in this Grey metal color.

The single most important thing about this mount is that the patented “Glide-right” mechanism is infinitely adjustable within the limits of its range in both the vertical and horizontal planes. No more notches. You can get the device exactly where you want it.

Above you can see the Dovetail Mounting System in a Universal Shroud. It is available in both Horn (J arm) and Dovetail versions.

SHOT Show – Adams Industries

Adams Industries has developed an NV Hero 3 Kit for the GoPro. They had to modify the Hero slightly by replacing the objective lens in order to line up with the NVG. They also make an adapter to mount them to one another, allowing the NVG to be removed via a standard PVS-14 eye piece. The GoPro Hero can be used stand alone as well.

Sneak peek – Adams Ind HDNVG

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014

Here are two pictures taken through night vision on a moonless cloudy night. The one on the left is regular night vision. The one on the right is through Adams Industries HDNVG.

Adams Ind NVGAdams Ind HDNVG

In normal night vision you can see that there’s a car parked in the driveway.

With HDNVG you see:
• Some of the areas you thought were street are actually grass.
• There is a tree behind the car that could provide concealment.
• There is a power pole behind the house.

Oh, and the car’s not parked in a driveway; it’s parked on the grass

Coming to SHOT Show.

New TNV/Sentinel Binocular Night Vision System

Friday, August 9th, 2013

TNV/Sentinel Goggles

New from the Tactical Night Vision Company is the TNV/Sentinel Binocular Night Vision System. Manufactured by Adams Industries, the Sentinel BNVS was designed in direct response to the ground deployment of ANVIS Aviation Goggles and their subsequent breakage due to not being rugged enough for that environment. It’s up-armored when compared to standard ANVIS goggles, constructed with a machined composite housing bolstered by aluminum front and rear plates on the bridge. Unlike the complete lack of waterproofing offered by standard ANVIS goggles, the Sentinel is submersible up to 66 feet.

The Sentinel utilizes worm drive interpupillary adjustment, with none of the creaking and rattling found in aviation goggles and is built using L-3 Infinity OMNI VIII Image Intensifier Tubes, Gen3 tubes which offer unparalleled clarity, resolution, low light performance, and durability. The Sentinel also features a user-swappable mount interface, and can be field-adapted to either standard dovetail mounts or ANVIS-style ball detent mounts. Depending on the configuration, the Sentinel is powered either by a single CR123 battery or a remote battery pack. The Sentinel is available in a corrosion resistant matte black or FDE finish.
