Thursday, August 20th, 2015Ares Gear is actively seeking a new Chief Operating Officer to direct operations and assist in determining the future direction of our rapidly growing business.
Position Description:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a member of the Ares Gear executive management team, and will facilitate, direct, and coordinate operational activities and programs relative to the day-to-day operations of Ares Gear. The COO will be responsible for:
· Understanding the vision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and taking the lead in executing that vision.
· Working in partnership with the CEO to develop and implement organizational goals and policies that maintain and enhance the Ares Gear culture.
· Developing, planning, and directing all aspects of Ares Gear’s operations, objectives, and initiatives to ensure future growth.
· Performing a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
· Leading and directing the work of others.
· Overseeing human resource management.
· Working with sales, production, and shipping operations to plan and execute short- and long-term financial and operational goals.
The preferred candidate will be a bright, seasoned and highly qualified individual whose experience includes strategic/operational innovation and business relationship building.
Position Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
· Experience with proven management/leadership/ personal management achievements
· Entrepreneurial, project management and creative problem solving skills are essential
· Proven track record of building effective business relationships, excellent negotiating, coaching and interpersonal skills
· Excellent grasp of written and spoken English
· Demonstrable understanding of technology (i.e. Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, etc.)
· Exceptional analytical, financial, and management skills
· Able to effectively keep multiple initiatives on track
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Results oriented and bottom-line focused / able to work towards long term goals
· Able to commit to and follow initiatives through to completion with limited supervision
· Strong business acumen / professional attitude
· Team player / Mentally Flexible
· Manufacturing experience a plus

Ares Gear Partners With Uber Group
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014Uber Group has recently announced a new partnership with Ares Gear. Uber Group will now be handling all Unit and Agency purchases of Ares Gear products, while Ares Gear and any dealers carrying their products will continue to handle individual orders. This arrangement was made in response to Ares Gear’s growth as a company – sales of the brand are being outsourced to a trusted partner while Ares can focus on new products and design.
Unit/Agency orders and prospective dealers should email dealersales@aresgear.com, where an Uber Group rep will read it and get back to you as quickly as possible.
Additionally, Uber Group will be holding a Biz Dev day at Academi on Thursday, May 1st.
Ares Gear Announces Aegis Belts
Tuesday, September 17th, 2013Ares Gear has announced the Aegis Enhanced, the first offering in the Aegis family of belts.
With a 4oz stainless steel buckle, and the same proprietary scuba webbing that you’ve all grown to know and love, the Aegis Enhanced is easier to thread (only one tail!), lower-profile both visually and physically, and has only one moving part in the buckle. The buckle is a very beefy version of the roll pin buckle used on military dress belts and unlike anything else out there.
Now, here’s the catch; the Aegis belts on their website are a VERY limited run (the last of the machined buckles). Production buckles will be MIM (Metal Injection Molded), so the ones available for purchase now are the same type used by weartesters.
Once these are gone, Ares doesn’t anticipate having more Aegis belts for sale until 2014 (unless they make that MIM mold REALLY fast), so get one early.
