Crye GunClip Now Available

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

OP Tactical let us know last night that they now have the Crye Precision GunClip in stock in both Tan and Black. Remember, these only fit the Glock 17, 19, 22 & 23 (right hand draw) and were originally designed for use with a can attached to the pistol. As you can see the holster is also molded to fit a mounted light. Additionally, the holster mounting system is adjustable for PALS webbing or various belt sizes up to 2″ and rotates a full 360 degrees. It makes for a great chest mounted rig. The GunClip has been sought after since its debut at SHOT Show 2010.

2011 Crye Precision Catalog

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Crye ran out of these on the first day of SHOT Show so most attendees didn’t even get one. For us, it’s the modern equivalent of the SEARS Christmas catalog so enjoy drooling. Crye is supposed to update their website later this month so you should soon to be able to get a hold of some of the staples. Please wait for the website to be updated before calling. The more you call the less time they have to devote to updating the site.

Crye Changes Everything…Again

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

It seems like just last year we were telling you all about all of these great new Crye Precision products, and just as they are hitting the market, Crye up and does it again.

As we reported some time ago, Crye did in fact win the SOCOM contract for their Low Viz vests. They produced two variants, one for the RBAV armor and the other for the MBAV. They both accept a small chest rig that attaches via SR buckles and the cummerbunds are interchangeable with the skeletonized AirLite cummerbund.

This is the AirFrame helmet with Chops and MultiCam mesh cover.

In addition to the GunClip we wrote about last year and is now available, Crye showed their new MagClip. Weighing a mere ounces, it fits US GI as well as PMAG magazines, clamping around the base of the mag and relies on two fork-style bars that fit around belts or into PALS channels. Unlike other systems, the MagClip remains connected to the magazine.

Crye has also made a couple of changes to their G3 field and combat clothing including larger jacket pockets with huge side entries as well as zippered back pockets and a new tool loop on the trousers. Additionally both field and combat pants share identical pocket layouts. They also are introducing an all weather combat shirt and field pant as well the FieldShell seen above as well as the WindLiner, a simple, lightweight wind shirt. Finally, for clothing Crye is reintroducing the range vest in a much more streamlined form as a cover up for the combat shirt when no armor is being worn.

Crye also introduced FastMits which is a product designed specifically for fast roping. For years, operators have used a variety of solutions including welding gloves which prove to be bulky and difficult to transition from rope to weapon ready. Crye developed an overmitt that is lightweight and is easily stored. They are placed over the operator’s gloves and can be quickly diffed in order to expose the hands to wield a weapon or operate radios or other equipment once safely on the ground.

In the photo below you can clearly see the MagClip attached to the PALS on a Blast Belt in addition to Crye’s dump pouch and zip off back panel.

Seul Military Consulting

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

We met the folks from Seul military Consulting at last year’s SHOT Show and were immediately impressed with what they had going on. They are responsible for the introduction of Crye Precision combat clothing in German Flecktarn for use by German forces (and MultiCam as well). Not only do they rep the top tier US brands in their home country of Germany but they manufacture some of their own home grown designs as well.

Their own brand is called ATLAS and they produce unique stuff like multi-pocket field jackets, boonie hats, Baseball caps with Velcro and more.

Look for Seul Military Consulting wandering the halls of SHOT Show. They will be there looking for new products to introduce to the German market.

Crye Takes Denmark

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

It has been said that Crye Precision is taking over the world and I would answer that with, “one country at a time, my friend, one country at a time.” Denmark is the latest to join the ranks of those sporting Crye. Now, this isn’t the same thing as the Danes adopting MultiCam. Rather, the firm PX-Shop has contracted with Crye to offer Combat Shirts and Pants in Danish M84 pattern. This is similar to what happened in Germany awhile back.

OCP Caps Available for Those Who Missed Out

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

The OCP Caps given away at AUSA and here on SSD by ADS were so popular that they have agreed to release a small number for sale through Tactical Distributors. Manufactured from the same softshell material used in the Level 5 garments of ECWCS Gen III, the caps come in the recently authorized Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern, popularly known as Crye MultiCam. These are great hats and you will surprised at how light they are. This is a first come, first served situation and I don’t believe there are a whole lot available as they were giving them away at AUSA.

For those of you who participated in the contest, winners have been notified and will be announced to the public soon.
