PMAG GEN M3/USGI Feedlip Drop Test

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012

Magpul conducted a demonstration of their new M3 PMAG technology.

This is a video from our feed lip drop testing. With a sample size of one each in this video, it is still an “unscientific” demonstration, but we didn’t think you’d want to see hours of magazines falling. This test is very typical of the overall results. This is the loaded magazine room temperature feed lip drop on concrete, from 6 feet, PMAG 30 GEN M3 vs USGI, tan follower, followed by full auto function fire. All drops were from a fixture to control impact angle and release. Test firearm is an HK 416.

They have also recently developed the recently patented Viper system. Below is the Viper Light. The key to this version is their universal, mechanically stabilized mount. This means accurate rounds on target without a powered system. It will elevate to 72 deg with elevation and traverse controllable via independent release paddles mounted adjacent to the weapon’s grips.

The SOS Super Cell answers the problem Soldiers have with moving quickly in and out of the sun. This goggle is built to US Mil Spec and in addition to an anti-fog coating features a removable photochromatic lens. This allows the wearer to strip away the darkened lens when they go into darkened areas. It also serves as a sacrificial lens to prevent scratching of the SOS Super Cell’s primary lens.

Additionally, there is a silicon nonslip head strap with integrated goggle sleeve.
