SHOT Show – Smith & Wesson Apparel

Smith & Wesson Apparel had a couple of cool garments that are great for LE and gun enthusiasts.

The first is from the M&P line. The softshell Nevada jacket features dual center opening chest pockets along with slash handwarmer pockets. Available in OD Green and Black.

SHOT Show – Massif

Massif is launching their new Insulated Combat Sleeves. This sleeved, insulated garment is designed to be worn in conjunction with armor in cold weather. Insulated with 3.6 oz Climashield APEX, the shell is 70D Zeta from Duro with a Braveheart rips top lining. Also look for 330D Cordura sleeve reinforcements and Polartec gridded fleece in the neck.

SHOT Show – Smith Elite Pivlock V2 Tactical

Based on the commercially available Pivlock V2 the new tactical model integrates ballistic protection and another interesting feature. Notice the FreeFloat technology on the lens near the temple. It’s a relief cut to alleviate optical distortion that occurs when the temples are flexed outward. But its most important function is to allow the lens to absorb a serious impact. The Pivlock V2 Tactical also incorporates rimless, frameless 3-piece adjustable nose. Notice that there is no frame along the top of the lens. That means you get a higher field of vision than other eye pro.

It meets all mil std and industrial protection levels for an eye shield. Available in Tan 499 and Black.

SHOT Show – Princeton Tec Switch Rail

Princeton Tec has introduced a new light called the Switch Rail. It is a Picatinny compatible, waterproof to 1m low output light for structure search, navigation, low level illumination and breaching operations. This light is a collaboration between Austere Provisions Company, Sentinel Designs LLC and Princeton Tec.

The Switch Rail offers 10 lumens for up to 36 hours using 2 each 2016 coin batteries. Available lamp options include IR/Red and IR/White.

SHOT Show – RADAR 1957

This is the new UK Army holster for the GLOCK.

It uses the Locking on the Ejection Port System or LEPS and the initial 2000 holsters are level 2 retention.

The holsters will always be in Coyote but after the first 2000 articles, the Brits are moving to a level 3 system with hood and the buckles on the leg shroud will be side release rather than the circular buckles that come with the initial order.

SHOT Show – Remember the Ronin?

A couple of years ago Magpul undertook a design exercise that resulted in a customized version of a Buell motorcycle called the Ronin. Ronin Motorworks was created to take the concept one step further with the Ronin Warrior. 47 of these customized bikes will be produced and released later this year by Ronin Motorworks. Each will be named after one of the famous 47 samurai warriors.

Blue Force Gear Announces New Signature Pack with Chris Costa

This new Hive pack is a signature item from Chris Costa by Blue Force Gear. It is sling-style pack that is reversible with a small triangular pocket that will accept a pistol. All-in-all it’s about an 8 l capacity.

The pack is dapper compatible and designed to support discreet carry and will accommodate up to subgun sized weapons.

The concept is build this pack in small batches with different colors and fabrics so that they won’t all look alike and most importantly won’t scream, “gun!” The version they demo’d incorporates Tweave, a stretch material around the top flap and is in the Arc’teryx Urban Wolf.

Look for these this Spring, initially in Urban Wolf. Specialty color runs are a minimum of 300.

SHOT Show – Mattock Dry Sock from Arc’teryx LEAF

Arc’teryx has a bevy of new products but one of the standouts is the Mattock Drysock LT. It relies on the same printed Gore fabric as the Alpha Jacket so your feet will stay dry but breath. They are tall enough that they will keep you dry almost up to your knee. Available in MultiCam and Crocodile the Mattock is offered in sizes XSmall – XXLarge.
