TEA Headsets is happy to announce they have just been awarded a $7.5M order for their INVISIO X50 Systems for the TCAPS requirement ran through PEO Soldier. The primary goal of this requirement is to provide soldiers protected hearing in combat, while enabling them to hear the surrounding environment as well as their communications (ex; 2-way radios, intercoms). Noise-induced hearing loss, which is often both permanent and preventable, can directly affect a Soldier’s ability to perform the mission. Noise-induced hearing loss is one of the most prevalent injuries among military and civilian personnel, representing a significant portion of the annual cost for service-connected disability compensation.
According to the Government Accountability Office, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has reported that tinnitus (ringing or other noises in the ears) and hearing loss are two of the most common service-connected disabilities. Approximately $1.1 billion in disability compensation was paid for these two conditions in fiscal year 2009, and this number continues to rise, as Soldiers and civilians support noise-hazardous operations unprotected.
About the INVISIO X50 System: The INVISIO X50 greatly expands the user’s capabilities to effectively communicate on the battlefield with it’s ability to work with practically any 2-way radio, vehicle/aircraft/watercraft intercoms, mobile phones, tablets, and even computers.
The INVISIO X50 system features the INVISIO X5 dual in-ear headset which provides certified hearing protection, enhanced and amplifiable electronic hear-thru and clear speech communications using the patented in-ear bone conduction microphone technology.
At the heart of the system is the INVISIO X50 Control Unit/Push-to-Talk. The X50 Control Unit serves as a communication hub, allowing soldiers to interconnect and control multiple 2 way radios, adjust independent incoming audio levels of each connected radio and also adjust the levels of their external hearing.
The System includes INVISIO X5 Headset, INVISIO X50 Control Unit/Push-to-Talk and modular Communication Cables for specified radios/devices.
Congrats guys!
