See the Caravel Mk2 and Power Scavenger at DSEI 2015 Stand-S4-430

Press Release – 9th September 2015

Following the successful showcasing in 2014 of the prototype Caravel Mk2 and Power Scavenger battery chargers, Lincad is pleased to announce that it has now brought the finished products to market. The company will be demonstrating the capabilities of both chargers, designed in co-operation with the UK MOD, on its stand at DSEI 2015.

Lincad is a leader in the design and manufacture of bespoke batteries, chargers and power management systems for the military and other specialist applications. Operating since 1986, Lincad is a privately owned UK company with nearly 30 years’ experience at the forefront of battery and charger technology and design.

Caravel Mk2 Charger
The Caravel Mk2 Charger is an enhanced, cutting edge replacement for the original Caravel Charger which has seen front line service with British and international armed forces for 15 years. Featuring the very latest developments in battery charging technology and design, it offers multi-chemistry charging of batteries from any original equipment manufacturer, making it possible to bring an entire battery fleet under the management umbrella of a single charging unit. With twin USB ports, it will also charge USB-enabled devices such as smartphones and tablets simultaneously.

Power Scavenger
The Power Scavenger is Lincad’s all-purpose solution to mobile power management in any situation where reliability, light weight and ease of use are critical. Offering the end user true flexibility in charging options, it can charge different battery types of any electrochemistry as well as USB-enabled devices from any DC input such as solar panels, a vehicle or other batteries.

In addition to armed forces across the world, the Caravel Mk2 Charger and the Power Scavenger will also be of interest to any organisation conducting operations in extreme environments.

Brian Soden, Managing Director of Lincad, commented:

“We’re delighted to be exhibiting the Caravel Mk2 Charger and the Power Scavenger at DSEI 2015. Both of these chargers, designed in co-operation with the MOD, demonstrate the strength of our commitment to the continual evolution of our product range and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to demonstrate that to the international delegations who will be attending the show.”

Chuck Vlasek Joins BE Meyers as Business Development Manager

    Thursday, September 10th, 2015

When I heard Chuck was moving to BE Meyers I thought to myself, “That’s a match made in heaven.” Chuck is a quiet, unassuming guy who took me awhile to get to know. He doesn’t brag about his military service or his clients at SureFire and that’s what I like about him. He doesn’t have to tell you how awesome he is, he shows you in his actions. I’ve never questioned anything Chuck has told me and I’ve solicited his advice on matters both professional and private. I can’t think of a finer endorsement.

My relationship with BE Meyers goes back to the late 1990s during my time in the Air Force. Talk about a customer focused company! I can’t say enough good things about BE Meyers products. They are so well designed and built that clients don’t see a need to upgrade to newer models. I don’t if that’s a blessing or a curse, but it sure speaks to quality. Chuck is going to do great things there.

Mr. Chuck Vlasek Joins B.E. Meyers & Co. Inc. as its newest Business Development Manager

    September 10th, 2015 (Redmond, WA) –

B.E. Meyers & Co. Inc. is proud to announce that Mr. Chuck Vlasek has joined the team as Business Development Manager for the Weapons Segment operating out of FT Bragg, NC.

Prior to this position Mr. Vlasek spent 6 years in the US Marine Corps where he was a scout sniper and deployed three times conducting combat operations. After leaving the military in 2007 he went on to become the Military Sales rep for SureFire, where he worked for the last 8 years supporting military, federal, and law enforcement customers around the globe.

“Chuck is a tremendous asset to the team and comes to us with extraordinary operational experience as well as industry experience”, said Matt Meyers, Director of Business Development. “We are very excited and very fortunate to have him on the BEM team.”

Chuck lives in North Carolina with his wife Annie, son Charles, and two Rottweilers.

SilencerCo Announces New Subsidiary: SilencerCo Weapon’s Research

    Thursday, September 10th, 2015

    SilencerCo Weapons Research

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – September 10, 2015 – Continuing in their innovative and roguish nature, SilencerCo has once again thrown the gauntlet in a big way – by forming their own technological skunkworks outfit, SilencerCo Weapons Research.

Located in Austin, TX, SilencerCo Weapons Research, or SWR for short, is based around bringing technology within reach of the Everyman. For too long, technological advances surrounding the shooting industry have been priced out of the attainable range of most citizens, kept a secret, or the public has simply been told that they can’t have them. SWR not only believes that you deserve better – they plan to show it.

SWR will use their expertise in the various arenas of the industry to design their own technology geared toward cutting-edge solutions for the discerning sportsman. The initial product offering will be announced in mid-September, with a steady pipeline of products to follow. Consumers can anticipate products that will enhance the shooting experience and bring into civilian reach capabilities that were formerly only available to government end users.

SilencerCo continues to keep the industry on their toes and test the line of what is considered possible. SWR represents the purest form of that effort, venturing into an uncharted territory with the goal of bringing the best within reach.

John Q Public Discusses ‘Grunts of the Air’ : The A-10 Video The Air Force Doesn’t Want You To See

    Thursday, September 10th, 2015

Fellow Air Force retiree Tony Carr writes the John Q Public blog which keeps the Air Force on its toes. He has been keeping tabs on the Combat Camera-produced, unreleased doumentary, ‘Grunts of the Air’ depicting an A-10 Squadron deployment to Afghanistan in 2014. For some reason, the Air Force hasn’t released it officially. Naturally, Carr wants to know why.

I have no interest in stealing JQP’s thunder, so please read the background story here.
