Warrior Expo – LBX’s Armatus Ver 2

Wednesday, April 29th, 2015

Developed in conjunction with Chris Costa, the Armatus armor carrier has a new variant. Based on end user feedback, they’ve introduced a fully modular MAP system carrier.

In addition to removable panels up front there are also now removable rear panels.

It incorporates Hypalon shoulder straps with removable padding, a breathable mesh cummerbund and a streamlined front design that covers the attachment clips for the MAP.

Although it comes configured with a PALS panel they are also looking at introducing a pouch panel and a backpack panel.

Yep, you read that right; they’ve developed a chest rig, but in natural MATBOCK fashion it had to be something different.

The Berserker Chest Rig is ultralight. Weighing only 1 lbs, it’s manufactured from MATBOCK Ghost, a new fabric for them. In fact, expect a whole line made from MATBOCK Ghost.

The PALS compatible Berserker includes a bib as well as front and rear platebags amd removable cummerbund.

The Transition Tabs (seen below) allow you to cut the plates away while retaining wear of this Rhodesian-style chest rig.

Currently only available in MultiCam, samples are shipping for T&E soon.

Warrior West – Sneak Peek “The Dude”

Wednesday, April 29th, 2015

One of the first things I was shown at this year’s ADS Inc Warrior West Expo at the San Diego Convention Center was this gun case. Its only marking was a decal from Stumpies Custom Guns. Located in Swansboro, NC, Stumpies is a small custom shop run by wounded warrior Marine EOD Vets amd well known to many.

The real surprise is once you get inside the case, and the story behind it. Named “The Dude”, this rifle will be raffled off later this year to raise funds for the EOD Warrior Foundation. The name derives from the nickname of a buddy of Stumpies owner, Brad Lang who was killed in action. As raffled, it will include everything you see here like the Leupold optic and Adams Industries night vision device as well as several other goodies not yet ready.

As you can see in this photo, the .308 AI action has been engraved with the rifle’s name.

You’ll be seeing a lot more of this gun. In fact, it’s scheduled to be a featured article in an upcoming issue issue of Harris Publications‘ Tactical Weapons magazine.
