Force Protection is our Mission: Rheinmetall at IDEX 2019

Friday, February 15th, 2019

IDEX 2019 takes place from 17 to 21 February in Abu Dhabi. True to the motto “Force Protection is our Mission”, Rheinmetall will be on hand with a representative selection of products from its extensive portfolio.

The Group is allocating considerable space to its force protection solutions, which range from hard ballistic inserts for bullet-resistant vests to state-of-the-art standoff active protection systems for armoured vehicles.

For the first time ever, Rheinmetall is showcasing its new Hybrid Protection Module. Combining active and passive protection technology, it can be retrofitted into vehicles or deployed in standalone mode. Furthermore, Rheinmetall is presenting two variants of its tried-and-tested Multi Ammunition Softkill System (MASS) decoy launcher system: MASS_OCR with Offboard Corner Reflector and the standalone MASS_ISS with Integrated Sensor Suite, intended for units lacking an organic reconnaissance system for countering e.g. laser and radar threats.

Rheinmetall’s comprehensive expertise in the air defence domain is also on show at IDEX 2019, embodied in its innovative Skynex system. The Skynex configuration on display at Abu Dhabi features the remotely operated, network-capable Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 – mounted on an HX77 truck – bolstered by an X-TAR3D search radar, a Cheetah guided missile and a high-energy laser effector.

Rheinmetall also numbers among the world’s foremost suppliers in the field of training and simulation, where it makes a crucial contribution to enhancing the operational effectiveness of numerous armed forces and law enforcement agencies. At IDEX 2019 Rheinmetall is highlighting its new “Total Ship Training” system, an integrated simulation-based approach for training entire ships’ crews ashore. The aim of this concept is to increase the operational readiness and to reduce the training costs while taking into account modern demands for longer sea endurance of the fleet and multi-crew concepts.

As a leading supplier for soldier systems, sensors, effectors, networking and C4I systems, Rheinmetall sets extraordinary standards in the digitization of armed forces. The Du?sseldorf- based specialist for security and mobility continues to widen its lead in the soldier system market with solutions like Argus New Generation and Gladius 2.0. On view too at IDEX 2019 are the Group’s cutting-edge TacNet tactical management system and the Rheinmetall Command and Control Software (RC2S).

Furthermore, at IDEX 2019 Rheinmetall is presenting its comprehensive expertise in practically every capability category. Among other things, these include the Group’s tactical vehicles as well as the versatile, high-mobility trucks, the backbone of modern military logistics; weapon and ammunition systems that are a match for the latest threats, enabling a swift, scalable response; and innovative, network-capable sensors for applications on land, at sea and in the air. We look forward to seeing you at IDEX 2019 at our stand 09-A10!

Echo Arms Helmet Light

Thursday, February 14th, 2019

Granted, it’s mounted a bit far back in this image, but this is the Fast Attach Mount w/ Low Profile Integrated Light Body from Echo Arms.

The design utilizes an integrated Magpul M-LOK interface to mount directly to their Fast Attach Mount which attaches to the helmet via Velcro.

It uses the sane thread interface as Surefire E-Series and Scout lights meaning you’ve got lots of head and tailcap options.

With the Helmet Light sharing the same tailswitch, battery and head as the Surefire M300 Scout, pairing the Helmet Light with a Surefire M300 weaponlight provides a backup solution in the event a weaponlight fails and needs replacement parts.

This new helmet light is currently available for pre-order.

Jankel achieves ‘production ready’ status from its Middle Eastern production facility of their latest generation HUNTER Tactical Intervention Vehicle (TIV)

Thursday, February 14th, 2019

World-class specialist in design and production of high-specification armoured vehicles and survivability systems, Jankel, has announced the achievement of ‘production ready’ status for their latest generation HUNTER Tactical Intervention Vehicle (TIV) in preparation for the imminent manufacture of another major order from an undisclosed customer in the Asia Pacific region. The vehicles will be built at JLVM, Jankel’s Jordanian facility, a Joint Venture with KADDB. This announcement coincides with IDEX 2019 taking place 17-21 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), where Jankel is exhibiting on stand number 05-C09.

Jankel’s focus for IDEX will be further sales of their Counter Terror and Special Forces vehicles to complement their numerous vehicle fleets already in service in the Middle East. Jankel will also be promoting their survivability systems, including their range of BLASTech mitigation seats.

This latest order for the HUNTER TIV has been re-engineered to have increased internal and stowage capacity. The vehicle has also received automotive improvements to meet the exact specifications demanded by the customer, delivering versatility, maneuverability and protection for Internal Security missions.

Jankel has enjoyed considerable success in the Middle and Far Eastern regions in recent years. The establishment of the JLVM Joint Venture in Jordan has enabled regional manufacture of vehicles to meet the demanding environmental and capability requirements of this wider geographical area. To date, Jankel has over 350 vehicles in service across 11 countries in the Middle East and neighbouring regions, as well as an established and comprehensive support services network that expands across 14 different regional sites, ensuring the customer can always maximise the capability on offer.

Dan Crosby, Commercial Director at Jankel said: “The Middle and Far Eastern regions continue to be strategically important markets for Jankel and we are glad to announce that we’re ready to put the latest generation HUNTER TIV into volume production for the first time. We’re proud of the fact that we can build vehicles in the region using our Jordanian facility and sell to surrounding countries and the wider-reaching markets beyond”.  He added: “IDEX is an important show for us that will provide Jankel with an excellent opportunity to network further and showcase our products to countries that would not normally be so easy to reach.”

Our brand video walks through the value propositions of our firearms.

Offerings

Brace Built offers the billet MC6 AR15 in 5.56mm, the billet MC7 AR10 in 6.5mm Creedmoor and .308 Winchester, the Barrier Tactical rifle in 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5mm Creedmoor, and .308 Winchester, and the left folding billet Barrier Tactical chassis that is compatible with the Barrier action and Remington 700 actions. MC6s and MC7s come in the customers’ choice of black, tungsten, OD green, or burnt bronze Cerakote for the upper, lower, and slimline MLOK® handguard along with Brace Built’s signature orange highlights for the trigger and the ambidextrous controls. The Barrier Tactical rifles come with the same color choices for the barreled action and orange highlights for the trigger and controls.

Barrier created the signature Barrier action with a 3 lug bolt and 60 degree throw to solve three common precision bolt action rifle pain points – the primary extraction issue found in many bolt action rifles,  the lack of durability of chassis systems, and the nightmare of assembly/disassembly. He combined this action with Bartlein™ cut-rifled barrels in 18”-24” lengths to create sub 1/2 MOA out of the box performance. He then focused on making the best tactical chassis system he could out of billet that was simple, durable, and affordable.

Spectra Group (UK) Ltd to exhibit SlingShot tactical communications system for the first time at IDEX 2019

Thursday, February 14th, 2019

Spectra Group (UK) Ltd is an internationally renowned specialist provider of secure voice, data and satellite communications systems, specifically optimized for use in remote and challenging environments.  Following significant interest from the Middle East and Asia, particularly regarding their battle-winning SlingShot tactical communications system, Spectra Group (UK) Ltd will this year be exhibiting at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX, for the first time.

IDEX is the only international defence exhibition and conference in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region and takes place 17-21 February 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).  IDEX showcases the latest technology across land, sea and air sectors of defence, providing a strategically important opportunity for Spectra to exhibit their unique SlingShot tactical communications system.  Spectra Group (UK) Ltd will be located at stand number 05-C03 in the British Pavilion.

Spectra’s SlingShot is a small appliqué that provides in-service tactical VHF and UHF radios with a Beyond Line of Sight Communications on The Move capability (BLOS COTM).  In addition to standard voice and data C2, SlingShot can facilitate a wide range of capabilities such as remote biometric analysis, fire mission planning, remote tracking, border security and inter-agency operations.  Man-portable or vehicle-borne (land sea and air), useable on the move, delivering flexible channel leasing and with minimal increase in training-burden, SlingShot redefines tactical communication capabilities.

Recent world-wide exhibits of SlingShot have been met with substantial international interest. Considerable excitement has been generated over SlingShot’s capability to significantly extend the range of in-service tactical radio systems, without the need for users to buy new radio systems, carry additional bulky equipment or conduct extensive additional training.

Simon Davies, CEO of Spectra Group said: “Spectra is very excited to be exhibiting for the first time at IDEX 2019.  We intend to maximize this fantastic opportunity to establish and deepen relationships with Partners, regional government departments, defence and security agencies and international businesses.” He added, “We are especially delighted to be able to exhibit SlingShot in the MENA region as a further opportunity to follow up on the significant amount of interest that has already been generated in the system.”

Spectra will be showcasing the SlingShot tactical communications system on Stand 05-C03 in the British Pavilion.
