Safariland Takes Holster Retention to the Extreme

Wednesday, June 16th, 2021

Holster maker captures the security and safety of its retention technology like never before.

Jacksonville, Florida – Safariland®, a brand of The Safariland Group, a leading global provider of safety products designed for the public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets, today debuted a holster video like no other. For years Safariland has set the standard for how firearms are retained in a holster. This extreme video puts new light on proven technology.

“At The Safariland Group, we live for innovation, performance, excellence and legacy every day” said Tim Drnec, VP of Marketing and Commercial Sales for The Safariland Group. “Our team wanted to go out and show our products in an all-new way, and they certainly achieved that-and then some. These scenarios demonstrate the ultra-reliability of our holsters’ function, design, build and of course, retention.”

Secure Against High Force, Jolts and Torque

Strength, power and endurance are all honed in the gym. They’re also qualities of the world’s top holsters. So Safariland took its products to the gym floor to be tested by free will and brute force. When the time came to push the threshold of Level IV retention, they headed out to a maritime playground for a high-speed day on the water. And to remind everyone that retention is critical at all altitudes, the team went to new heights. They also showed these holsters release how and when they should and function in the most dynamic of environments.

Safariland has taken the utmost pride and gone to immeasurable lengths to ensure firearms are secure in all of its holsters. The company is continuously seeking new innovation to add to the premier product lineup. Every effort is being made to uphold and build upon the legacy of protecting law enforcement, military and security professionals as well as private citizens.

More information on the tests, the new video and the results are available at inside.safariland.com/shop-page/retention.

NP Aerospace Awarded NIJ Certification for New Bomb Disposal Suit

Wednesday, June 16th, 2021

NP Aerospace has announced that its new 4030 ELITE Bomb Disposal Suit has been certified to NIJ 0117.01, the US National Institute of Justice Public Safety Bomb Suit standard, by the Safety Equipment Institute.

The official report was received this week after an intensive 18 month development and testing program – opening up opportunities to sell the suit in the US and other global markets requiring NIJ certification. NP Aerospace is one of only two manufacturers in the world to have been awarded this level of certification on a bomb disposal suit.

James Kempston, CEO, NP Aerospace: “NP Aerospace Bomb Disposal Suits are world leading in blast mitigation, survivability and overall comfort and ergonomics. Adding NIJ certification to an already world leading product is a significant accolade for our business and our overall EOD product line. As a global armor manufacturer with over 40 years’ experience in ballistic protection we are well versed in complex testing programs, however reaching this milestone in just 18 months is a major achievement. Users who require NIJ certified Bomb Disposal Suits now have the choice for a highly comfortable, ergonomic option with best in class survivability.”

The 4030 ELITE suit is now part of several program tenders – attracting significant interest from defense and law enforcement organizations. Users at recent US EOD events have commented on the suit’s flexibility and fit at a low weight, advanced blast protection and ability to configure the base suit with a wide range of accessories. Communications, cooling and CBRN systems can be easily added to the suit without costly system upgrades.

EOD and Tactical Search suits are part of the NP Aerospace high-performance defense systems range which includes Ballistic Helmets, Shields, Body Armor Plates and Composite Armor for vehicles, vessels or aircraft.

Cabra – Top Drive Vehicle

Wednesday, June 16th, 2021

Top drive vehicles are generally used by hunters and are often modified pickups. The Cabra from Ultimate Top Drives is something altogether different.

First off, it’s an electric vehicle, making it extremely quiet while moving toward the hide. Additionally, the cab is in the lowered position during transit for stability and then raised into position once at the hide. However, the Cabra can be driven with the cab in the up position during stalking. The 5-seat cab also features a convertible top design sun shade. There are two seats at the front which the refer to as Quail seats which have cups holders and are protected by a brush guard as well as a storage platform at the rear with an integrated game winch. Options include dog boxes and dual feeders.

Interestingly, the lithium ion batteries offer a 35 mile range at a top speed of 35 mph, but they’ve included an onboard gas powered generator to extend the range. It also features 110 and 220v outlets and will accept a light bar. You could even call game via an optional Bluetooth sound bar.

As you can see, the Cabra is offered in several
paint schemes. It is our understanding that the 2021 inventory is already sold out and that they are taking orders for 2022. Contact Lawson to get on the waitlist Lawson@ultimatetopdrives.com.

Tacteris to provide adaptive logistics planning technology in support of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) mission

CALGARY, Jun. 14, 2021 – Tacteris Systems (“Tacteris”), today announced that it was awarded a Phase 1 contract by the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) to develop and deliver a software solution for the “Fast and adaptive logistics planning military missions” challenge of the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program.

Tacteris will develop Forte™, a secure, cloud-based application purpose-built for military logistics planning. Forte™ will address key capability gaps identified by DND, enabling planners to create baseline logistics plans and investigate the effects of foreseeable issues on those plans. The Forte™ application will be fully integrated with Tacteris’s existing Maestro™ technology which provides 3D mission planning, battle management, and situational awareness capabilities.

“By combining the logistics capabilities of Forte™ with the operational planning capabilities of Maestro™, we can deliver a solution at a mature technical readiness level,” said Sean Dunn, CEO of Tacteris. “We have exciting plans to develop novel visualizations, predictive algorithms, and other decision-support capabilities to support logisticians across the full-spectrum of the CAF mission.”
