HSGI Now Offers The Option For Double TACOs

Tuesday, April 19th, 2022

SWANSBORO, N.C. – April 19, 2022 – High Speed Gear® (HSGI®) has recently expanded its most renowned product the TACO® pouch.

HSGI® now offers a side by side, Double Rifle TACO®. Historically, HSGI® has offered a single Rifle TACO®, the X2R Rifle TACO (the official magazine pouch of the Marine Corps), and the TACO® Shingle which includes three Rifle TACOs® in one. The Double Rifle TACO® allows for the user to carry their rifle magazines side by side giving the user a slicker appearance that maximizes the amount of ammunition to be carried while minimizing the amount of gear protruding from user’s belt, plate carrier, etc.

“We have a long history of providing the versatile gear our customers want and need; and we have continued to accomplish that that in 2022.  Additional TACO variations combined with faster turnaround times continue to make the difference for our customer base.” stated Bill Babboni, HSGI® Chief Operating Officer. “Everyone has come to rely on the adaptability of our products so that the user has the option to carry a variety of equipment without having to re-kit their belts or chest rigs.”

The Double TACO®, like the original TACO® line includes both MOLLE and adaptable belt mount (ABM) configurations. These pouches are great solutions for any kind of plate carrier, chest rig or belt mounted system that are used. HSGI® offers the Double Rifle TACO® in a variety of color options and is available now on the HSGI® website.

The Double Rifle TACO® can be purchased through the HSGI Authorized Dealer network or on the HSGI website: Double Rifle TACO®

Coming Soon:

The Duty Double TACO® with HSGI® Universal Clips allowing easy attachment to both MOLLE and belts up to 2”

Honor Patriot’s Day With Us

Tuesday, April 19th, 2022

Each year, we remind our readers of the events of April 19th, 1775. Fabled as the “Shot Heard Round The World,” this was the true beginning of the American Revolution, a worldwide conflict which would engulf the super powers of the day in battles as far away as India, and last for another eight years.

Rebellion had already been brewing on the North American continent for a decade. Finally, in the early hours of the day, North American Militiamen fired on British troops, starting a war that would result in the ascendency of the American Eagle over this land we now call the United States.

This battle is also where we draw our concept of the iconic Minute Man from.

Each Patriot’s Day, we honor those men at Concord and consider what it must have been for them to stand there together, in the face of the world’s greatest army and take up arms in the defense of their colony from oppression.

This militia came together on that morning to protect their arms from seizure by an oppressive government. That is an indisputable fact. We find the roots of the Second Amendment in the events of that day.

“Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”
-John Parker
Captain of Militia

As the initial volleys of fire were exchanged near daybreak on Lexington Green, colonial volunteers fell back in the face of over 500 occupying British troops. But as the battle moved on to Concord, the tide turned, and the redcoats were routed as more and more colonists joined the fray.

The British troops retreated through Concord where they were reinforced. Despite boasting a strength of 1700 men, they remained no match for the determined colonists who forced them to retreat to the safety of Charlestown in Boston. The militiamen continued their pursuit which transformed into the Siege of Boston.

Today, join me in honoring those early American warriors who pledged their lives to give us our hard fought freedoms and this great land.

Tuesday, April 19th, 2022

NATICK, Mass. – Craig L. Rettie, director of Research and Technology Integration for the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center, or DEVCOM SC, has been inducted into the Senior Executive Service, or SES.

In his position at DEVCOM SC, Rettie is responsible for the planning, programming, coordination and external integration of DEVCOM SC’s science and technology program to ensure America’s warfighters are optimized, protected, and lethal.

During the March 31 SES induction ceremony, Douglas Tamilio – director of DEVCOM SC and an SES Level II – hosted the ceremony and administered the oath of office to Rettie. The ceremony took place in Hunter Auditorium at the Natick Soldiers Systems Center, or NSSC.

By becoming an SES, Rettie joins an elite group of men and women chosen for their leadership qualifications and tasked with leading the ongoing transformation of the government.

Tamilio said that Rettie has the right skill set, as well as a wide depth of experience coupled with demonstrated leadership.

“He epitomizes the Army Values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage,” said Tamilio.

Rettie credited the many people who have led, mentored, and supported him over the years.

“Being selected for the Senior Executive Service is an honor that words are incapable of truly describing,” said Rettie. “I certainly never set out almost 40 years ago with the intention of winding up here, in this position. I have been blessed over those years to have the strongest leaders, insightful mentors, and strong supporters. Any credit for my successes belongs to them and the great people I have worked with on this journey. I look forward to continuing to serve the Army and Soldiers, with this great workforce, for years to come.”

New 30 Super Carry Added to Line of HST Ammunition from Federal

Monday, April 18th, 2022

ANOKA, Minnesota – April 12, 2022 – Federal Ammunition proudly offers a 100-grain HST Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) load to one of the biggest new handgun cartridge introductions in decades: the 30 Super Carry. The new 30 Super Carry cartridge bridges the largest performance gap in handgun self-defense ammunition. Check with your local ammo store for availability.

Penetrating performance and magazine capacity are major considerations when choosing a firearm platform for self-defense. Traditionally, users have had to choose between a smaller platform with reduced bullet performance or a larger platform to carry more rounds, while carrying a larger overall firearm. The 30 Super Carry has better terminal performance than a 380 and as much muzzle energy as a 9mm, all with a .312-inch projectile. Users will see performance similar to 9mm Luger with slightly less recoil and additional magazine capacity.

“We are excited to add this new HST Personal Defense handgun load to our overall lineup. A big advantage of the 30 Super Carry is that users get more performance from this offering without having to step up to a larger firearm,” said Jesse Whiteside, Federal’s Senior Director of Product Management. “The 30 Super Carry can hold 12 to 13 rounds in a magazine similar to the size of a 10-round 9mm Luger. Combine these performance features with Federals’ proven HST bullet, and this creates an excellent self-defense option.”

The Federal HST bullet design is matched with the 30 Super Carry for maximum performance. The specially engineered hollow point is designed for deep penetration and larger expansion. To fight against corrosion, the 30 Super Carry uses a nickel-plated case. This makes the HST Super Carry an ideal choice for personal defense scenarios.
