Check Out BERG At Warrior West

Friday, March 31st, 2017

At Warrior West you’ll be able to check out a demo of  BERG’s 20’ expandable E2S2 Dental Shelter used in the National Guard for Periodic Health Assessments (PHA). Use of these shelters has significantly increased mission readiness and decreased the cost of outsourcing medical care. What’s more, these shelters can be setup in 15 minutes or less and are perfect for not interrupting training to conduct field maintenance or medical support.

Generally, these are deployed in sets of four and used in conjunction with one another.

The ANG/Reserve PHA/PDA Portable Solution includes these capabilities:
1. 3-4 Dental Exam chair and stools for PDA.
2. Nomad Pro II x-ray system for PDA.
3. 1 – audiology booth for Hearing Conservation Program.
4. 2 – medical exam tables and portable desk for PHA.
5. 10 – Folding chairs for waiting room.
6. 1 – Desk and Chair for waiting room.

Additionally, BERG will feature the following capabilities in their shelter demo:
1. AMC-20CF Mobile Dental System.
2. NOMAD Pro 2 dental x-ray.
3. NOMAD MD medical and physical security x-ray system.
4. ADC-09 – Hydraulic Portable Dental Stool.
5. ADC-02CF – Hydraulic Portable Chair.
6. ADC-01CS Portable Chair.
7. ALU-40LED-CF – Portable LED Light.
8. AEU-525CF/CFH Transport III Dental System.
9. Talon Litter.
10. Litter Stand.

These shelters can be configured in a wide varieties of ways and combined to create everything from this specialized, mobile medical facility to an entire base camp complete with billets, mess, recreation and work centers.  Because these are shelters and not tents, they can be stacked as well as transported like other shipping containers, with the mission equipment safely stored inside.

BERG will be on hand in booth #1043 at Warrior Expo West, in the San Diego Convention Center, April 19 & 20.

Med Sled – Vertical Lift Rescue Litter

Monday, March 20th, 2017

Another one of the products I got a chance to check out during the Ft Bragg Warfighter Expo last week is Med Sled. It’s an evacuation sled for patients. In particular, this is the Vertical Lift Rescue variant.

Right off the bat, I need to acknowledge the elephant in the room. If you know anything at all about tactical medical equipment, you’re going to take one look at this and say to yourself, “Skedco,” which has dominated the market for decades. The reality is that both use a large HDPE plastic sheet and lots of webbing. The difference, is how each one of those products uses those materials.

The Sled Sled relies on the plastic to bear weight, with the strap system connected to the sheet. Med Sled supports the patient via the webbing which weaves in and out of the plastic. The plastic works to protect the patient from abrasion from ground and webbing alike. When in the vertical lift mode, the patient is secured in the seat seen in the photo below which easily straps into place. The straps all terminate at a bridle at the head of the litter.

They are available in 28″ and 36″ versions. Additionally, they offer an instant float system which straps right onto the litter and actuated via CO2 cartridges.

This video is long, but it is the training video for the Med Sled VL.

The Med Sled 36 VL has NSN 6350-01-608-3195. Med Sled product are available for Unit and Agency purchase through ADS.

Long-Time ADS Employee Promoted To CFO

Friday, February 17th, 2017

Dunn-Rai

John Dunn will now serve as the company’s Chief Financial Officer

Virginia Beach, Va. – Company officials announced the promotion of long-time employee, John Dunn, to the position of ADS Inc.’s Chief Financial Officer earlier this week.

Dunn began his career with ADS as Corporate Controller in 2010, before being promoted to Vice President of Finance in 2013. He helped lead the company’s financing efforts over the past seven years and frequently represented ADS at investor conferences and lender meetings.

“I am excited to engage in this new chapter with the company,” said Dunn. “ADS is an amazing organization and I am extremely honored to serve as its CFO.”

During his tenure with the company, Dunn has worked closely with key vendors and customers in a way that has contributed to ADS’ success and ensured the company maintains the highest standards in financial reporting.

“With the company’s recent refinance of its senior secured notes complete, ADS has the necessary capital and is well-positioned for continued growth,” said the company’s CEO, Jason Wallace. “John was a key part of that effort and I am confident he will continue to have a positive impact on ADS’ success as our CFO.”

ADS also announced this week that Karan Rai, the company’s current President and CFO, will be transitioning away from his involvement in the daily operations of ADS to focus fully on continuing his role as CEO of the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Theodore Wille Intertrade, GmbH.

“Karan has been instrumental in assisting the organization’s expansion into new markets and geographies globally with the acquisition of TWI,” said ADS Executive Chairman, Luke Hillier. “He guided the company through a critical capital markets refinancing and I look forward to his continued role in the growth of our new markets.”

In his role, Rai will be responsible for overseeing TWI, a global provider of integrated supply chain solutions to customers primarily operating in the United States European Command (EUCOM) and the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) regions.

“Over the past 12 months I was heavily focused on our capital markets refinancing process and ensuring post close success at TWI. During that time, Jason and John have been doing much of the heavy lifting in running ADS day to day,” Rai said. “The ADS platform continues to be in very capable hands with Jason and the rest of the management team and I look forward to taking on a more focused challenge of leading our growth platform at TWI.”
