SHOT Show 18 – Crye Precision Follow Up
Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018Based on the pre-SHOT Show release, several questions and comments arose which I will address in this follow up.
First off, G3 is not going away. Although that was the plan initially, there are too many customers using the garments so they will continue to be available.
As for G4, I’ve taken some photos of the new design features to give you a better idea of what is going on. This manikin is a great example of how the designs would be used.
For example, you can see the charge loops.
Also, please consider that the G4 has a better and more consistent fit between Combat and Field uniforms. Additionally, the VTX ripstop fabric, has some mechanical stretch.
There are also new Airflex Impact Pads. The operative word here is Impact
Several commenters were upset that Crye had not introduced MultiCam printed torsos into their Combat Shirts. They are available, for those customers who want them.
Finally, despite not being in the catalog, the original JPC will still be available.

2018 FirstSpear Range Day – Ops-Core Special Operations Tactical Respirator
Monday, January 22nd, 2018It’s been over a year since I showed you the first version of the Special Operations Tactical Respirator, but they are now starting to ship.
Since then, they’ve enlarged the replaceable filter with a larger version which offers more volume which subsequently makes it easier to breathe, particularly while under stress.
The SOTR comes from technology created for use in the F-35 Lightning II Program, this half-mask respirator provides protection against a wide range of oil and non-oil based particulate contaminants encountered by Special Operations Forces, tactical operators or specialized law enforcement officers.
The half-mask respirator filter offers at least 99.7% filtration efficiency against airborne particulates including lead, asbestos, lubricant mist, and explosive gunfire residue.
