MOHOC Cameras issued National Stock Numbers
Wednesday, December 19th, 2018Seattle, WA. MOHOC, Inc., creator of the world’s first military-optimized helmet cameras, has been awarded two NATO/National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for its MOHOC® Camera and MOHOC® IR Camera (infrared model) by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) following requests from multiple NATO Member States.
“We are excited to offer our customers the contracting ease and logistical convenience that comes with NSNs,” commented John Prosser, MOHOC Director of International Sales. He added, “For governments or user groups who are not yet familiar with MOHOC® Cameras, the award of NSNs provides the credibility of knowing major NATO customers saw fit to codify our equipment into their procurement systems.”
Already widely used by Special Forces and tactical law enforcement for training and live operations, the NSNs mark a significant milestone as MOHOC® Cameras are increasingly adopted by conventional military and first responders. The products are cataloged as follows:

UNITY Tactical Announces MARK & SARA Upgrade
Monday, December 3rd, 2018In an effort to continually improve our products, we have upgraded all wire forms in the MARK (Modular Attach Rail Kit) to a standard length with swaged tips. This means that MARK wire forms will allow more vertical adjustment and will be 100% drop-in compatible with 3M Peltor products out of the box. The new swaged tips are also 100% compatible with our SARA (Sordin Arc Rail Adapter) systems for use on MSA/Sordin-based headsets.
The MARK is the most complete system for direct mounting communication headsets and electronic ear protection to modern helmets. It is the smallest, lightest, and lowest profile attachment method for most popular headset systems used by professionals on the modern battlefield, including 3M Peltor, MSA, Sordin, Safaraliand TCI, TEA, and many more. Kits are available to interface with Genuine Ops-Core ARC, Crye Precision ARC, Revision, Team Wendy, and MTEK MLOK rail platforms. The wire forms of the MARK system are designed to put more inward pressure on the ear cups to improbe the seal. This can provide better hearing protection, electronic communication transmission, and overall fit of the helmet. The small hub leaves more helmet rail estate open for attaching other mission critical gear like lights, illuminators, cameras, etc.
MARK and SARA and built in the USA.
MARK Systems are available at www.unitytactical.com/shop/mark-kit.
SARA Systems are available at www.unitytactical.com/shop/sara-sordin-adapters.
Retrofit MARK wires for previously-purchased MARKs are available at www.unitytactical.com/shop/mark-wire-forms.
OWWM 18 – Team Wendy M-216 SKI SAR Helmet Enhancements
Friday, November 9th, 2018With nothing else like it on the market, the Team Wendy M-216 SKI SAR Helmet has become quite popular. But like anything else, users have asked for a few enhancements to the helmet.
First off is the M-216 Counterweight Kit. The unique design is patterned specifically for use with this helmet. It is 1 pound of coated lead with a Grey Cordura skin and attached via some very robust Velcro.
Next is the removable chin cup which converts the under-the-chin sports-style chinstrap to a similar strap found on the Ballistic helmet, offering additional stability when wearing night vision devices. It can be pulled out of the way or removed completely.
These enhancements, along with the Wilcox machined aluminum shroud, are available as part of the M-216 Tactical Ski SAR offering.
Team Wendy Releases EXFIL Ballistic SL Helmet
Monday, November 5th, 2018New Helmet Offers a 15 Percent Weight Reduction from the Company’s First Ballistic Helmet
CLEVELAND, OH (Nov. 5, 2018) – Cleveland based Team Wendy® announced the release of its next generation ballistic helmet and the fifth helmet in its EXFIL® line today: the EXFIL Ballistic SL. The SL has a complete system weight of 2.2 lbs. and features the new low-profile EXFIL Rail 3.0, which has a built-in Picatinny rail at its front, allowing the operator more efficient use of the accessory rail.
“Functionality, protection, weight and scalability are always at the forefront when we design new products,” said Jose Rizo-Patron, CEO of Team Wendy. “Operators must be able to move quickly and safely, and their helmet should provide them a systems-based platform that is both comfortable and stable, allowing them to focus on the mission. Compatible with several new tool-free accessories, the SL is a dynamic helmet that can serve any mission, and provides the utmost protection and capabilities in the lightest package.”
The EXFIL Ballistic SL meets a ballistic rating of NIJ Level III-A (according to NIJ STD 0106.01/0108.01), along with a fragmentation V50 of 2,400 ft/s (731 m/s) against 17 grain FSP, and backface deformation below 25.4mm against 9mm FMJ RN at 1,195 ft/s (365 m/s). It also exceeds ACH blunt impact protection requirements (per AR/PD10-02, 16Dec’13) averaging below 70G across all locations and conditions, less than half the allowable 150G maximum.
The SL provides a 15 percent weight reduction over the original EXFIL Ballistic with the same unique EXFIL shell geometry. The new EXFIL Rail 3.0 accessory mounting system, which is 25 percent lighter than the previous EXFIL Rail 2.0 system, is compatible with all available EXFIL accessories and is optimized to support the new EXFIL® Ballistic Visor and EXFIL® Face Shield, recently released in Aug. 2018. The machined aluminum Wilcox® SL shroud provides a 35 percent reduction in weight from the previous Wilcox W Shroud on the original EXFIL Ballistic, while maintaining full NVG mounting capabilities and lanyard compatibility. The EXFIL Ballistic SL also utilizes the innovative, field-proven, boltless CAM FIT™ Retention System to quickly adjust to individual head shapes while providing even weight distribution.
The EXFIL Ballistic SL size one (M/L) has a shell weight of 1.51 lbs. (0.685 kg) and a complete system weight of 2.22 lbs. (1.01 kg). The SL size two (XL) has a shell weight of 1.59 lbs. (0.725 kg) and a complete system weight of 2.31 lbs. (1.06 kg). Complete system weight includes the helmet shell, accessory rails, shroud, impact liner and retention system, all of which come included in the MSRP.
The EXFIL Ballistic SL is available in four colors: black, coyote brown and ranger green that all retail at $1,395 and MultiCam®, which retails at $1,463. The SL is now available for purchase on TeamWendy.com and through authorized Team Wendy dealers.
