TNVC Announces Zero G Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner for Helmets by 4D Tactical

Thursday, July 21st, 2016

The Zero G Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner by 4D Tactical, is available exclusively at TNVC. It offers the most technologically advanced and comfortable suspension system available for any combat helmet. Originally developed for USSOCOM, the Zero G pads meet and exceed specification for ACH Blunt Impact and Ballistic Protection – even exceeding current standard issue, OEM, and aftermarket suspension system offerings (according to independent and DoD lab testing (USMC SMART-TE ACH Test). What’s more; the Zero G Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner is the most comfortable set of pads available. Let’s repeat that: THE MOST COMFORTABLE SET OF PADS AVAILABLE.

The Zero G Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner is a rate and temperature sensitive material that conforms to the wearer’s unique head shape. The materials provide unparalleled comfort, fit, and stability. All pads are covered in a heat and moisture wicking NanoTech anti-microbial fabric. It is designed to draw perspiration away from the head and will actually cool the wearer through this evaporative process. The Zero G Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner is Berry Amendment (10 U.S.C 2533a) Compliant.

The Zero G Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner was spec’d with input from TNVC to be the ultimate in warfighter comfort and protection. Based on 4D Tactical’s excellent Zero G Standard Kits, the Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner contains more pads for more complete coverage. All pads are independent of each other for complete customization and compatibility with other head-borne mission critical gear. Once installed, the pads conform to each other, creating the feeling of a single, soft insert, eliminating hot spots of pad contact during extended wear.

This is the best investment you can make in your helmet!

Warrior East – Scubapro Helmet Dive Mask

Friday, July 15th, 2016

Scubapro has come up with an adapter for their dive masks which allow them to be connected into Ops-Core’s ARC rail fitted to a FAST Helmet in a manner similar to O2 masks for MFF ops. This device really increases the versatility of the FAST Helmet.

Here, it’s fitted to the Synergy Twin mask but the straps can be used with any of Scubapro’s masks with these quick attach clips. The strap can easily be swapped out for a traditional behind-the-head version when needed.

Look for 4th quarter availability.

Warrior East – Ops-Core FAST Side Armor

Thursday, July 14th, 2016

The Ops-Core FAST Side Armor is a low profile add-on which allows the user to still get a cheekweld on his weapon. Additionally, it is easy to configure the helmet thanks to its simple attachment system.

This is the reverse side of the Side Armor. You can see the hexagonal attachment cleat which slides into the track on the ARC rail. Once it is rotated, the shape won’t fall out of the track. To secure the Side Armor the lever is rotated to lock it in place.

This chart characterizes the FAST Side Armor’s ballistic protection.

Offered in slim or wide profile in high-cut or super high-cut in Urban Tan, Foliage Green or Black.

USSOCOM Selects Revision For Advancement Of Headborne Systems Technologies

Friday, July 8th, 2016

USSOCOM has awarded Revision a contract worth $726,000 for Advancement of Headborne Systems Technologies. This is in response to a Broad Area Announcement issued earlier this year to refine requirements for the next generation SOF helmet. That BAA can be seen below.

Revision

During SOFIC, Revision unveiled their new Multi-Use Bump Shell With Ballistic Capability. It is a multi-component system with a bump shell and two-piece armored appliqué to allow the wearer to increase the protection level in response to the threat.

The rail system is skeletonized to save weight and the suspension system is easily removable to integrate comms.  Below is an artist’s rendition of the helmet with the appliqué mounted as we are unable to share photographs of the actual plates.

Unless there is something up Revision’s sleeve which we haven’t seen yet, we imagine that this helmet wil be used as the basis for this work. Eventually, we hope to see a fully refined requirement for SOCOM’s next helmet. While there is no guarantee that there will be a new helmet requirement or that Revision will eventually be selected, this development contract certainly gives them a leg up on any future helmet solicitation.

Revision Helmet Saved Orlando SWAT Officer’s Life

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

By now, we’ve all seen the photo of the ballistic helmet that saved Orlando SWAT officer Michael Napolitano during the shootout with an Islamic terrorist at the Pulse nightclub a few weeks ago. Now, we know that the helmet was a Batlskin Viper A3, manufactured by Revision in their Newport, Vermont factory on July 29, 2014.

This version of the Batlskin Viper A3 has the midcut ‘Gunfighter’ geometry applied to an ACH style shell. Looking at the photo, the helmet was obviously fitted with a one-hole night vision shroud which was sheared off from the impact of the projectile. It is a NIJ level IIIA helmet made from aramid and was fielded with an ACH-style four-point chinstrap and proprietary pads.

As you can see, Officer Napolitano was injured, but the important point is that he survived. Events like this remond us why Law enforcement officers need access to personal protective equipment, since their jobs are inherently dangerous. Hopefully, they’ll monitor him for TBI.
