Throughout the Expo, Mustang Survival will be showcasing some of its most popular new products, available for sale in its onsite pop-up shop, including:

Rev Young Adult PFD. Built for a serious fishing mission, this vest is as versatile as its owner. Specially designed segmented interior foam panels provide an active, flexible fit, and cooling channels on the interior back keep the wearer cool. Fits better than size small adult vests for enhanced performance both in and out of the water.

Traction Gloves. Engineered for fishing and a first for Mustang Survival, the Traction Gloves were tested in Mustang Survival’s R&D lab proving a 30-50% grip improvement over bare hands. In further lab testing, the Traction Open Finger Gloves also showed a significant dexterity increase over bare hands, and the entire line is designed for enhanced wet grip performance. Whether fishermen are seeking sun protection, or a little extra warmth on cold mornings, there are multiple Traction Glove styles and weights available to provide protection from the elements.

Gear Haulers. Using material and technology knowledge gained from decades of experience designing and manufacturing dry suits for military, coast guard and rescue teams, the new line of Gear Haulers from Mustang Survival will keep your gear dry and protected in the nastiest of conditions.

“We are excited to once again be part of the Bassmaster Classic,” says Jason Leggatt, vice president and general manager of Mustang Survival. “As a showcase for peak performance, the event serves as an inspiration point for our design team to create inspired technical solutions engineered to perform in extreme conditions. It also gives us a great opportunity to interact with our users and showcase our latest product innovations.”

With a passion for keeping everyone safe while on or near the water, Mustang Survival will once again conduct boat yard PFD inspections for Bassmaster Classic competitors. Doing so will ensure all anglers have functioning PFDs in serviceable condition, and its importance cannot be overstated: Past inspections at the Classic have found an average of 5% of units requiring maintenance.

Thursday, March 9th, 2017

Experts from Cohort company SEA will explain how the soldier of the future can be more effective when they present at the Future Soldier Technology conference in London on March 13-14.

The focus on soldier modernisation will include a presentation by SEA’s Laurence Bedford, Senior Principal Consultant Ground Close Combat, and Giles Verwey, Senior Principal Consultant, that will outline some of the technology developed in SEA’s recent Delivering Dismounted Effect Programme (DDE) carried out for the UK Ministry of Defence. In particular, they will look at how to develop the research from technology into capability.

SEA was prime contractor to the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) on the DDE Research project and headed a team from industry and academia delivering integrated dismounted soldier systems research to the UK MoD.

The new systems considered included technologies for the weapon, helmet, torso and night vision systems using each element to develop an integrated soldier system.

In particular, the DDE research investigated the technical feasibility, benefits and costs associated with integrating power and data onto the weapon and helmet. All the systems were designed to meet the challenges required by an adaptable and flexible force dealing with evolving threats and it is envisaged will be part of the equipment and design of the future soldier.

Laurence Bedford has spent the past five years working on soldier systems research and was DDE programme manager. This was preceded by 20 years military experience as an Infantry Officer with significant operational and training experience.

Giles Verwey has considerable experience in defence research. Before DDE, this included work on a range of projects including soldier systems, radar, Electronic Warfare and sonar systems and ranged from concept modelling through development to trials and assessment. He was SEA’s technical lead for DDE.

AOC EW Europe 2017: ‘Advancing EW and Electromagnetic Operations Together’

Europe is one of the most vital areas in the world and the focus of much change in the area of electronic warfare (EW), but with change comes uncertainty. In terms of EW and electromagnetic (EM) operations, how can we make sense of all of these things?

The Association of Old Crows is once again teaming up with Clarion Events to create Europe’s premier electronic warfare event- the only event fully supported by the AOC in Europe. This partnership brings together world-class speakers in a conference programme shaped by industry experts.

AOC EW Europe will consider the future of EW and EM Operations in the changing light of current and emerging threats, including Hybrid Warfare and Anti Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) where potential opponents are out-performing the West. It will consider the possible responses, how thinking and attitudes must change, and examine the new capabilities that will be required across all lines of development, by all services, in all countries in the free world. The Conference will consist of plenary sessions and twin-tracks focusing on operations, defence capability development, and industry inventiveness.

AOC EW Europe will be held in perhaps the world’s most iconic city – London. It will consider the future of EW and EM Operations in the changing light of current and emerging threats, including Hybrid Warfare and Anti Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) where potential opponents are out-performing the West.

Speakers will include leaders and operators from the military, government, academia, S&T and R&D communities and, crucially industry. This is an unclassified truly-global EW networking, exhibition, workshop and conference and not to be missed.
