Gray Fox Strategic Inc -Nightcap

Monday, October 22nd, 2018

This is ingenious. Like many others, Gray Fox Strategic realized that the Surefire X300 Ultra won’t fit in the Safariland 6354DO holster due to its extra length. So, they decided to do something about it. Sure, many just cut a hole in the bottom of the holster, but the cap is there for a reason. It helps mitigate negligent light discharges, and protects the lens of the light.

Installation is a snap. Below, you can see the difference between the Gray Fox Strategic Nightcap and the original, which incorporates the star patterns.

What’s more, they offer multiple color options.

AUSA 18 – SureFire Stiletto

Tuesday, October 9th, 2018

SureFire displayed the new Stiletto rechargeable handheld light.

Stiletto was my favorite 2018 product at SHOT Show. It offers a High-performance LED and MaxVision Beam reflector. Two switches include a primary switch to activate high, medium and low output and the tactical switch activates high only and high frequency strobe. Additionally, the switches are programmable to change activation sequences.

It’s now listed on www.surefire.com but not available yet for order.

It’s been talked about for some time, but SureFire is now offering the XLV2 weapon light/laser combination for government sales.

There are a lot of features packed in this compact light including a 400 Lumen Maxvision white LED, 300 mW Maxvision IR LED, 850 nm Class IIIb IR laser, and 520 nm Class IIIb Green laser (50 mW).

Designed originally as a pistol light, the XVL2 has already been seen on carbines as well as MP7s, flipped upside down.

This is a 3v light and the single cell CR123A is accessible by a clockwise quarter turn of the lamp module.

There’s also a special DG coming this light.

SureFire assures me a civilian variant is coming, but they’ve got to get it certified first.

For now, government customers contact SureFire or Quantico Tactical.

BioLite Launches HeadLamp on Kickstarter

Tuesday, September 18th, 2018

Launching today on Kickstarter is the HeadLamp from BioLite, who claims, “It’s a wearable that’s actually wearable.”

It’s a really neat design. The 3D SlimFit Construction incorporates a 3D-molded housing integrating the electronics directly into the fabric for a SUPER thin front that sits flush on your forehead. This, combined with the power source mounted to the rear, results in a balanced, no bounce design.

The rechargeable design offers 330 lumens in the following modes: dimmable white spot, dimmable white flood, red flood, and strobe. Plus the panel articulates easily with one hand so you can direct your light where you need it.

Offered in limited quantities on Kickstarter. What’s more, early adopters will get a free Light Diffusing Stuffsack with their pledge, turning their HeadLamp into a hangable lantern. These will be delivered by the end of the year. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until Spring, 2019 for them to be restocked.
