Tasmanian Tiger Launches TT Modular Combat Pack 24 SL in the U.S.

Highly modular combat backpack with adjustable Y2 Carrying System now available to American customers.

Knoxville, Tenn. (March 2025) – Tasmanian Tiger®, a tactical nylon line of products distributed exclusively for the US market by Proforce Equipment, Inc., announces the availability of the TT MODULAR COMBAT PACK 24 SL in the U.S. Market. This small yet highly modular combat backpack is designed for adaptability, featuring the newly developed Y2 Carrying System that allows for an exceptional range of back-length adjustments, accommodating both petite and very tall users.

The 24-liter TT MODULAR COMBAT PACK 24 SL is built for mission readiness, offering a laser-cut MOLLE system and MOLLE hook-and-loop on the inside for limitless modularity. It features three front pockets with dividers for customizable gear storage. The lower front pocket is specifically designed to fit three magazines, ensuring quick access in high-pressure situations. The main compartment holds 19L, while the upper front pocket holds 2L, the middle front pocket holds 1L, and the lower front pocket holds 2L. The adjustable shoulder straps allow the pack to be worn comfortably over protective vests. It also has a removable hip belt, padded fins with zippered pockets, and removable hook-and-loop.

Designed for light load-outs and extended wear, the innovative Y2 Carrying System provides a fully adjustable back-length system that accommodates users of all sizes. The reinforced Y-shaped harness design features shoulder straps that can be fine-tuned for height and length, ensuring an optimal fit. A removable rear panel with an aluminum support rail enhances stability and load distribution while maintaining a low-profile design that integrates seamlessly with a padded back construction. The system’s ergonomic padding offers enhanced comfort, even during prolonged use in rugged environments.

Additional features include hydration system compatibility, side compression straps, and internal mesh pockets for organizing small essentials like batteries.

The TT MODULAR COMBAT PACK 24 SL weighs 60 oz. / 7.75 lbs. and measures 21.25 x 11.5 x 7 in. / 54 x 29 x 18 cm. It is made from Cordura® 700 Denier (Multicam 500 den) and is available in Black, Olive, and Coyote for an MSRP of $329 and Multicam for $379.

Tasmanian Tiger x TACWRX – Flektarn Exclusive Packs

During Enforce Tac our friends at TACWRX showed us several Tasmanian Tiger pack styles which they are offering exclusively in Budeswehr Flektarn, the woodland version which is now often referred to as Fünf Farben Flecktarn or five color.

Seen here (clockwise) are the Mil Ops Pack 30, Pouch 8.1 Hip, and Survival Pack. Everything is made with 500D Cordura.

They are also offering the Modular Hip Bag in the pattern.

Enforce Tac 25 – Sneak Peek: Savotta Kantamus 40L

Coming later the spring, the Kantamus is a 40L internal frame pack which introduces a new suspension system.

The width of the shoulder straps is adjustable and buckles can all be replaced in the field.

The lid can be removed and used as an assault pack and there’s a roll-down collar.

The Lowe Alpine Systems Vector 1 Pack

Chuck Taylor wrote a lot of great stories for gin magazines in the 70s and 80s. One of my favorites was published in SWAT magazine in 1984 regarding the Lowe Alpine Systems Vector 1 pack which combined a large main pack with an internal frame and a combination waist belt / rappelling harness which could be separated quickly from the pack to create a relatively lightweight pack solution.

The Lowe brothers, Greg and Mike, were members of Reserve Special Forces and used their experience to build packs.

The LOCO, Vector 1, and LCS-84 were all procured by SOF units via local purchase and the LCS-84 design ultimately became the Field Pack, Large Internal Frame of the Individual Integrated Fighting System issued in the early 90s.

PocketUp Transitions Sales to Social Media Platforms

I’ve known Mel Terkla for over 25 years, since before his days with Kifaru. He and his wife Rena own a great small, home run business called PocketUp. Like many other small businesses, things are tight and they’ve chosen to transition how they interact with clients. He shared the following statement regarding PocketUp which does a great job of explaining why they’ve made the choices they have:

As most of you know, we were having major website issues! Our friend set up our website 6 1/2 years ago and the software had become completely outdated as we knew nothing about software updates and such. This past week has been a headache and I won’t even get into all the details, but there is no longer a PocketUp website! We’re just a small mom and pop shop and decided not to spend the money building a new website, as we plan on retiring PocketUp in a couple years anyway! The good news is that PocketUp is still in business as usual, with new products on the way!

We’ve decided to go with the old school business plan on how it used to be before the internet, but with the advantage of now having the internet and social media! In the old days companies advertised in magazines and had catalogs, and you ordered over the phone or by mail! We will be using social media and the internet as our “magazines and catalogs”, and I will be posting about our products on our PocketUp FB page and my group page Field Packs and PocketUp! After the holidays, I will start posting more pics and details of our PocketUp gear! Actually, it will become more personal as our customers will be dealing with me for one on one service! I will be available to answer all questions in detail and supply all the photos and/or videos you need to make your decision on what PocketUp products you want! You will be able to do this on our PocketUp FB page, on Field Packs, on Messenger, by email, texting, or the old fashioned way by phone! When you have decided what you want to order, I will send you a PocketUp PayPal invoice that you can pay with a credit card or PayPal.

This pack was designed by current serving Australian SF members and tested to its limits on multiple selection courses and in all conditions on multiple deployments.

It offers seven external pouches with extra room to customize your pack four columns of PALs webbing on each side. It also features bottom access to your sleeping gear which easily fits the issued sleeping bag and bivvi bag.
