XTECH Tactical Introduces 5rd Magazine Extender and Complete 20rd Magazine for HK VP9

Good news for those of you with H&K VP9s who feel the standard 15-round magazine doesn’t carry quite enough rounds for your liking: XTECH Tactical has announced both 5-round extension magazine plate for the VP9. Additionally, XTECH will also be offering their own 15 and 20-round complete magazines for the same pistol. The full release can be read below:

First up is the new 5rd Magazine Extender for VP9 magazines. The XTECH Tactical mag extender adds an additional 5 round capacity to the VP9 magazine for a 20 round total. The mag extender is super simple to install with absolutely no tools needed.

Jeremy Deadman, Director of Sales and Marketing for XTECH Tactical explains how they have eliminated reliability concerns that plague many other mag extenders.

“The biggest thing for function is that we have a 100% consistent ID within the extender portion AND the ID within the extender is less than the ID of the magazine. The benefit here is that it is impossible for the extender to cause a Fail to Feed which is a known issue in extenders.”

MARSOC to Receive New Breast Insignia

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina —
Marines serving in the military occupational specialties of critical skills operators (0372) and special operations officers (0370), are now authorized to wear the newly created breast insignia.

This change will be reflected in updates to Marine Corps Orders 1200.17E and P1020.34G.

The new uniform item, now referred to as “Marine Special Operator Insignia,” will be awarded to Marines at the completion of the Individual Training Course (ITC). ITC is an extensive five-phase training program that prepares selected Marines for global special operations duties, roles and responsibilities, for 196 days before heading to more specialized curriculums. In total, these Marines complete no less than 268 days of training before joining the operating forces.

“The individual MARSOC operator must be trained and educated to think critically and function in an increasingly complex operating environment — to understand and interact in dynamic, dangerous and politically-sensitive battlefields,” said Maj. Gen. Carl E. Mundy III, commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command. “Our rigorous training pipeline ensures that a newly minted critical skills operator has developed the skills required for full spectrum special operations. This badge serves as a visual certification that they have trained and prepared to accept their new responsibilities.”

The center of the 2” x 2.75” insignia consists of the bald eagle, representing the United States, with outstretched wings to symbolize the global reach of the U.S. Marine Corps. A dagger clutched by the eagle reflects the emblem of Marine Raider Battalions and the Marine Special Operations School. The Southern Cross constellation superimposed on the dagger represents the historic achievements of the Marines serving during the Pacific campaign of WWII, specifically those actions on Guadalcanal. The Southern Cross remains a part of the legacy of modern-day Marine Corps Raider units.

“It’s a representation of the pride and legacy that dates back to the Marine Raiders of World War II. This badge will distinguish a SOF-qualified Marine, just as the combat crew wings distinguish an aviation crew chief or the jump wings and dive bubble distinguish a Recon Marine,” said a critical skills operator.

The Latin phrase “Spiritus Invictus” is inscribed on the scroll above the eagle’s head, translating to, “Unconquerable Spirit.” Marines must demonstrate that spirit during their arduous curriculum in order to attain the MOS and be awarded the Marine Special Operator Insignia.

The device the Marine Corps actually chose is quite a bit different than the variant seen below which was developed by some CSOs a couple of years ago.

Armor Express Hosts Saves Retreat at Northern Michigan Headquarters

CENTRAL LAKE, MI – Six Police Officers and their families, which credit Armor Express body armor for saving their lives from death or serious injury, have descended upon Central Lake, Michigan to partake in a company sponsored Saves Retreat.

The Saves Retreat kicked off Thursday at the company’s global headquarters, announced Matt Davis, CEO and President of Armor Express. “We view our Saves as the true life-blood of our company,” explained Matt. “This retreat gives us the opportunity to give a little back to these heroes that sacrifice so much to protect everyday citizens.”

The company has a formal Saves Program which tracks those Officers who have been positively impacted by the protective qualities of their products. Heading up the program is Armor Express Save Lt. Brian Murphy, who was the first responding Officer to the 2012 Sikh Temple massacre in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Brian was shot 15 times during the altercation with the assailant. His body armor absorbed 3 of the rounds.

“Only these Officers and their families know exactly what they have gone through. By bringing them together we want them to know that they aren’t alone. They form life long bonds and friendships which are part of the healing process,” noted Brian.

“What these families go through is all too often taken for granted. These guys are true heroes but little focus is given to their own personal healing. We try to foster an environment where that healing can take place,” added Davis.

During the retreat the families have an opportunity to tour the Armor Express facilities, meet the employees, and share their life saving stories. Following the tour the company is hosted a picnic for all the Save Families and employees as a gesture of gratitude.

Davis continued, “The Saves wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the hard work of our employees. They take a lot of pride in what they do and they deserve a lot of thanks.”

After that, the group moved to a home on Torch Lake which was donated for their use by a generous family from Central Lake. For the next three days they have the opportunity to relax, build relationships and enjoy some camaraderie.

INVISIO interim report January–June 2016: Continued profitable growth and strong order book

INVISIO (IVSO) has today published its interim report for the period January–June 2016. The company continues to grow with good profitability. Both sales and operating profit rose in the first six months of the year compared with the corresponding period in 2015. At the same time a new order from the US army contributed to a strong order book at the close of the period.
