Mission Accomplished: Canoo Delivers Light Tactical Vehicle to Army for Analysis & Demonstration

Tuesday, December 6th, 2022

Justin, TX – (December 1, 2022) – Canoo (NASDAQ: GOEV), a leading high-tech advanced mobility company, has delivered its new Light Tactical Vehicle (LTV) to the United States Army for Analysis & Demonstration in fulfillment of the contract awarded in July 2022.

The LTV is engineered for extreme environments and includes stealth configurations. Designed to be durable with a focus on passenger and battery safety, the LTV incorporates carbon Kevlar for strength without the added weight. As with all Canoo vehicles, the LTV is designed for passenger ergonomics, taking body motion and height into consideration, as well as multi-tasker components.

“The LTV is another milestone proving the power of our technology and how it can be used, even in tactical situations,” said Tony Aquila, Chairman & CEO at Canoo. “This is a winning algorithm for our customers and company.”

Modular for Multiple Use Cases: Convertible Flatbed, Mounting Racks, Ramps & Tactical Systems

A jack-of-all trades, the Light Tactical Vehicle can be converted from a pickup to a flatbed truck, a cargo vehicle and more. With a convertible flatbed platform, the LTV can easily carry standard sized plywood, construction and oversized materials, as well as tactical equipment or attachments for the required mission.

Canoo’s proprietary modular attachment system and accessories quickly interchange the flatbed walls with many other types of mounts including racks, ramps, storage boxes, tents, or tactical systems. The modular upfitting enables the LTV to have mission-specific configurations at a lower total cost investment.

Enhanced Performance: Powertrain + Suspension to Get the Job Done

The LTV has a proprietary all-wheel drive system with up to 600 hp. To support the increased demands of off-road environments, the LTV incorporates air-springs, a raised suspension, and 32-inch all-terrain tires to build higher ground clearance suitable for extreme or rugged conditions.

One Platform, Many Variants

Canoo vehicles are based on the company’s proprietary multi-purpose platform which integrates all the critical components of an electric powertrain, so it is as flat and efficient as possible, while maximizing cabin and cargo space.

Full specifications will be revealed closer to production. Canoo’s line of battery electric vehicles are purpose-built to help customers be more productive and achieve a higher return on capital while reducing total cost of professional ownership.

FN’s First Commercial Pistol Suppressor Designed for Reduced Blowback and Effective Sound Suppression Delivers an Unmatched Shooting Experience

(McLean, VA – December 6, 2022) FN America, LLC is pleased to announce the release of its first commercial pistol suppressor, the FN Rush™ 9Ti. This highly reliable, durable and versatile 9mm pistol suppressor is made from a lightweight Titanium-hybrid construction and was developed for an unmatched shooting experience with the FN 509 tactical line of pistols and other 1/2×28”-threaded firearms. The unique booster assembly, blast baffle and baffle stack design provide a tight gas piston seal and even gas distribution that flows the gases forward to deliver reduced blowback to the user’s face, reduces recoil and provides effective sound suppression.

“The FN Rush 9Ti is the first introduction in FN’s portfolio of firearm accessories that enhance the end user’s shooting experience,” said Chris Cole, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FN America, LLC. “Our goal with developing the Rush 9Ti was to give consumers a reliable and durable 9mm suppressor that met FN’s rigorous quality standards and would integrate seamlessly with the FN 509 and other 9mm hosts. We tackled some of most common complaints about suppressor performance like blowback and recoil reduction to deliver a final product capable of mitigating both.”

Perfected for performance with the FN 509 tactical line of pistols and other 9mm hosts, the FN Rush 9Ti delivers smooth, reliable function while maintaining the accuracy standards that FN owners depend upon. The overall slim design and lightweight Titanium-hybrid construction provide the perfect counterbalance to reduce recoil and maintain a clear sight picture with suppressor-height sights. The simple design also breaks down for maintenance with the included front/end cap assembly tools.

The included 1/2×28” booster assembly is entirely unique and is the smallest, most lightweight on the market. Its tight gas piston seal along with the unique gas flow through the blast chamber and baffle stack perfectly time the gas flow back into the firearm and through the suppressor tube. This enables near neutral impact to slide cycle speeds that drastically improve reliability, allowing users to have a more enjoyable shooting experience with dependable feeding and extraction across a wide array of commercial loads from light training rounds to subsonic loads. Additionally, the design dramatically improves system durability with reduced back pressure into the firearm, thus reducing overall wear and tear along with felt recoil.

“When selecting a suppressor, customers often have to choose between effective sound suppression, reduced blowback or felt recoil; you very rarely get all in one,” said John Ryan, Director of Product Management for FN America, LLC. “Our team developed a suppressor that delivers an unmatched shooting experience straight from the box. You no longer have to settle for one or the other with the Rush 9Ti.”

The FN Rush 9Ti is a highly reliable, durable and versatile 9mm suppressor that can mount easily to any 1/2×28” host and doesn’t compromise on sound suppression, gas blowback or recoil.

Specifications:

• Caliber Rating: 9x19mm
• Overall Length: 7.3 inches
• Tube Diameter: 1.375 inches
• Weight: 10.8 ounces excluding piston
• Included 1/2×28” piston

Speer and CCI Ammunition Announce Production of Catalyst Lead-Free Primers

Monday, December 5th, 2022

LEWISTON, Idaho – December 5, 2022 – Speer and CCI Ammunition announce the implementation and production of market-leading Catalyst lead-free priming technology in their Lewiston, Idaho facility. The proprietary Catalyst primer was initially developed by Speer and CCI’s partner company, Federal Ammunition, starting in 2016.

“We are extremely proud of this new production capability which continues the rollout of an incredible primer technology,” said Federal, CCI and Speer President Jason Vanderbrink. “This product has proven to be the best in its class after nearly seven years of continuous production. Its consistent performance has been tested over hundreds of millions of rounds. Most notably, the product is featured in Federal’s innovative Syntech Range ammo and American Eagle Lead-Free.”

The extremely clean-burning Catalyst primer creates more uniform and complete propellant combustion, yielding minimal velocity variation and consistent bullet launch for improved accuracy. It is also non-hydrophilic, so it does not attract water molecules like DDNP-based mixes found in most lead-free primers, resulting in better reliability.

“Catalyst lead-free priming technology provides the cleanest, most consistent ignition possible. We are excited that our Lewiston plant is now set up to run Catalyst priming in our target pistol products,” said Speer and CCI’s Director of Factory Operations Mike Overberg. “The Anoka facility has proven this to be the best lead-free priming technology available. Our staff here has done a fantastic job of working across factories to extend this product into Speer and CCI Blazer ammunition products made in Lewiston, Idaho.”

Speer and CCI Ammunition can be found at dealers nationwide. For more information on all products or to shop online, visit www.speer.com and www.cci-ammunition.com.

UF PRO Unveils New Tactical Winter Suit for Sub-Zero Environments

Monday, December 5th, 2022

KOMENDA, SLOVENIA (30 NOVEMBER 2022)—Tactical clothing manufacturer UF PRO today announced the release of its Delta OL 4.0 Winter Jacket, to be followed before year’s end by the release of the Delta OL 4.0 Winter Pants. Together, the jacket and pants comprise UF PRO’s Delta OL 4.0 Winter Suit, the latest iteration of the company’s popular line of tactical winter garments for military and LE operators engaged primarily in stationary work when temperatures drop below zero. “The Delta OL 4.0 Winter Suit features superior thermal insulation,” said UF PRO Head of Product Development Armin Wagner. “The tactical winter jacket and pants consist of a dense G-LOFT® filling that creates the suit’s heat-preserving properties, making the Delta 4.0 the ultimate thermal insulation winter suit for sub-zero temperatures.”

Thermal insulation is but one of the key attributes of the new Delta 4.0 OL’s jacket and pants. According to Wagner, the suit also boasts a polyurethane membrane lining that blocks out wind and repels water. “This means the wearer enjoys full simultaneous protection from wind chill and moisture, and as a result is able to spend a prolonged time in cold environments.”

The Delta OL 4.0 Winter Jacket’s groundbreaking Hood/Harness® system provides waterproof head protection without obstructing the wearer’s line of sight, while the Delta 4.0. Winter Jacket comes with a detachable powdered skirt that prevents snow penetration, Wagner said.

The novel design of the Delta OL 4.0 Winter Pants permits unprecedented freedom to move, Wagner indicated. “They feature schoeller-dynamic® stretch fabric with an extra four-way stretch membrane to keep out wind and moisture.” he said. “And it’s our UF PRO® Flex/Zone® that makes sure the volume of the G-LOFT® insulation stays the same and doesn’t shrink as the pants stretch. As a result, you’ll feel as nice and warm kneeling or sitting as you do when standing.”

Wagner expressed confidence that the Delta 4.0 Tactical Winter Jacket and Pants will be appreciated by even the hardest to satisfy operators. “We understand the risks associated with working in extremely cold weather. In particular, we understand that thermometer readings alone don’t tell the true story of how cold it really is at any given moment in any given location—wind speed and external moisture levels also affect temperature and can make it feel a lot colder than the thermometer would suggest. Because of that, people out working in those conditions are at greater-than-they-think risk of hypothermia, frostbite, chilblains, and hives.

“We created the Delta 4.0 Winter Suit to address this problem. One of the reasons we are excited about this release is that we know it will benefit thousands of professionals worldwide.”

Team Federal’s Alysia Burrows Shines at the 2022 PCSL 2-Gun Championship

Sunday, December 4th, 2022

ANOKA, Minnesota – November 29, 2022 – Federal Ammunition congratulates Team Federal sponsored shooter and brand ambassador Alysia Burrows, who recently too took home 1st Lady Practical Division at the 2022 PCSL 2-Gun Championship.

“This was Alysia’s first major match returning to the action shooting sports after a 6-month break taken to recover from rotator cuff surgery immediately after winning 1st Lady in 2-Gun Division at the Superstition Mountain Mystery match this past March,” said Federal’s Marketing Director Brian Anderson. “It doesn’t appear as if she has missed a beat, getting back on the clock and ready to tackle anything the stage throws at her. With this win, she secured the top Lady position in Practical Division for her second year in a row. We congratulate her and everyone on Team Federal for their excellent performances this fall.”

Burrows relies on Federal Syntech Action Pistol 150-grain 9mm in her handgun; American Eagle 55-grain .223 Rem and Federal Premium Gold Medal 69-grain Sierra MatchKing .223 Rem in her rifles.

“I was excited to get back and shoot at this event. This match is known for attracting some of the best around, and it’s always a privilege to shoot alongside them,” said Burrows. “What really gave me my edge at this match was Syntech. This handgun load has low recoil, but also has strong power to knock down all the large heavy steel. And in a match like this, the long range can make or break your game, the 69-grain .223 Rem. Gold Medal rounds worked fantastically well. It’s nice to have ammo that you can depend on to get the job done.”

Federal ammunition can be found at dealers nationwide or purchased online direct from Federal. For more information on all products from Federal or to shop online, visit www.federalpremium.com.

Milrem Robotics to Deliver 14 THeMIS UGVs to Ukraine in Cooperation with KMW

Saturday, December 3rd, 2022

The leading European robotics and autonomous systems developer, Milrem Robotics, and the German defence company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) have signed a contract to deliver 14 THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) to Ukraine.

Of the 14 vehicles, seven will be configured for casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) and are scheduled to be delivered by the end of this year. The other seven, to be delivered in the second quarter of 2023, will be configured for route clearance with payloads from the French defence manufacturer CNIM Systèmes Industriels.

The effort is being funded by the German Ministry of Defence.

“Casualty evacuation and route clearance are two labour-intensive activities that require the engagement of several people who remain in constant threat of enemy fire. Automating these tasks with unmanned vehicles alleviates that danger and allows more soldiers to stay in a safe area or be tasked for more important activities,” explained Captain (res) Jüri Pajuste, Defence R&D Director at Milrem Robotics.

Milrem Robotics delivered one CASEVAC THeMIS to a Ukrainian charitable organization earlier this year that has proven to be a valuable asset.

“The deployment of the THEMIS UGV to Ukraine means that the Ukrainian forces can increase the safety of their soldiers and let the UGVs handle tasks that are an immediate threat to humans. That is the ultimate purpose of robotic systems. Milrem Robotics is proud to be able to contribute to Ukraine’s fight against the aggressor,” said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.

“This important project gives evidence of our common ability to provide advanced technology to Ukraine. We are determined to support Ukraine with protective and lifesaving equipment. The fast delivery of 14 THeMIS UGVs proves that KMW and Milrem are partners you can rely on,” said Ralf Ketzel, CEO of KMW.

THeMIS is a multi-mission unmanned ground vehicle with an open architecture that enables it to be rapidly configured from having a transport function to being weaponized, performing ordnance disposal or supporting intelligence operations according to the nature of the mission.

The THeMIS UGV is already part of different programs in 16 countries, including eight NATO members: Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the UK, and the US.
