PCP Tactical Selected to Produce Lightweight Polymer Cased Ammunition for the U.S. Army

Friday, June 10th, 2022

PCP Tactical LLC, a defense contractor headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida has been awarded an Ordnance Technology Initiative Agreement (OTIA) from the National Armaments Consortium – DoD Ordnance Technology Consortium (NAC-DOTC) to produce 7.62mm lightweight small caliber ammunition for the US Army.  This award directly supports Project Manager Maneuver Ammunition Systems (PM MAS) efforts to reduce weight for Army soldiers over-burdened by their combat load. The introduction of lightweight small caliber ammunition in a polymer case material will improve the soldier’s mobility on the battlefield to increase soldier’s lethality and survivability.

“PCP Tactical/Gorilla Ammunition has been designing and delivering weapons and lightweight polymer cased ammunition solutions to the Department of Defense for almost a decade,” said Lanse Padgett, Chief Executive Officer of PCP Tactical and Gorilla Ammunition, “and we are extremely pleased to be chosen by the Army to collaboratively develop polymer cased ammunition.”

The agreement requires PCP Tactical to produce lightweight polymer cased 7.62mm M80A1 and M62A1 ammunition that can function properly at the extreme environmental conditions anticipated on the future battlefield. The ammunition is expected to meet or exceed the internal ballistic and terminal performance requirements of current brass cased ammunition, while reducing the weight by approximately 30 percent. The M240 machine gun is the primary weapon for this effort, but the lightweight polymer ammunition is also compatible with the M14 Semi-Automatic Rifle, M110 Rifle, and the M134 Mini-Gun.

“PCP Tactical has developed an incredible working relationship with the Army over the past ten years,” said Padgett, “we have provided legacy ammunition calibers as well as next generation calibers to include armor piercing rounds to the Army.  We have also provided enhanced new weapons systems and barrel conversion kits for legacy guns to reduce weight while increasing lethality.  Over the last several years polymer case technology has progressed tremendously, and we are anxious to get the ammunition qualified for use by our soldiers and allies.”

For questions feel free to call PCP Tactical at 772-564-0777.

True North Concepts Racker

Friday, June 10th, 2022

“The Racker” is designed to avoid the extreme damage done to holsters during one-handed pistol manipulation drills. The commonly trained technique of catching the rear sight of a pistol on the curved top edge of a holster is both precarious and often damaging to the holster. Alternatively, some shooters choose to rack their pistol’s slide off of their belt buckle, which can damage the firearm’s rear sight or the lens of mini red dot sights.

The True North Concepts Racker provides a level and robust edge that captures the rear sight and facilitates racking/charging the firearm, with one hand. The Racker is constructed out of high strength polymer, and will wear instead of damaging your sights or firearm finish. Avoiding damage to your firearm is important, and for this reason The Racker was designed. The Racker mounts to any belt up to 2.25? wide, and will also thread through MOLLE/PALS webbing. The mounting bar is the same pattern as the proven Modular Holster Adaptor, and is cross compatible with the MHA mounting bars.

“The Racker” will assist those training in providing a more reliable reference point for single-handed manipulation of the pistol’s slide. The central location of mounting the Racker on the gun belt allows for repeatable reps, which builds confidence, speed and repeatability. When mounted, The Racker will stay firmly in one place on the belt, without sliding or moving around to worry about. Small and light, The Racker can be used on either side of the shooter’s belt, or two ran in mirrored tandem. Often there are few good points on the shooter’s “Support side” of their gun belt to manipulate pistol slides off of. The compact size of the Racker allows the product to be mounted in front of spare magazines on the “Support” side, or immediately in front of the holster on the “strong” or gun side of the belt.

A secondary feature factored into the design of The Racker, is the ability to remove a magazine stuck in the magazine well of their pistol. The inboard side of the racker has a flat edge to allow for the lip of the magazine’s base plate to be caught, using downward pressure applied to the firearm. After catching the magazine onto the racker, the shooter simply pulls out and way from themselves, allowing the magazine to slide out of the firearm’s mag well, and fall freely to the ground. This technique is extremely difficult to near impossible to accomplish one handed without the aid of the Racker.

Since the “The Racker” is designed for one-handed pistol manipulation, it works for more than just the tactical use of one handed pistol manipulation drills, as is taught for a wounded limb. It can also be used to enable a person with certain disabilities to operate a semi-auto pistol with one hand, such as those with limited or non-existent mobility in one arm. It can bolt directly to any desk, cabinet, shelf, workbench, wheelchair or nightstand to assist in chambering a cartridge for individuals with mobility or dexterity issues.

With time and use, the shooter will notice wear and scratches form on their Racker. This is the evidence of the abuse that would have been placed on their pistol’s sights or expensive holster, if manipulating their firearm one-handed in the traditional manner.  The Racker is designed to be a disposable part, however it will provide years of reliable, continuous use until replacement is needed. The worn face of the Racker can be quickly cleaned up periodically, by using a knife, razor, file or sandpaper to restore the profile of where the pistol’s sights impact the product.  Again, “The Racker” is designed to wear with use so you don’t place damaging wear on your firearm’s sights or holster.

Stay in the fight and save your holster.

New Product from AXL Advanced: The IInnocuous Rifle Mag Pouch – Available Now

Friday, June 10th, 2022

AXL Advanced releases a new product in their lineup – The Innocuous, a horizontal rifle mag pouch designed to interface with their Eclipse Belt.

Similar in construction to the Node Pistol Pouch, the Innocuous shares the same concept of a semi-structured pouch that is both rigid enough to easily reindex magazines, but flexible enough to flatten down when empty.

A horizontal mag pouch prevents unwanted interaction between the magazine and plate carrier, and reduces discomfort when bending, kneeling, or sitting.

The Innocuous mounts via the Eclipse buckle assembly and included Node hardware, using only one molle slot, and is right-hand configurable only at this time.

Offered in Multicam, Ranger Green, Coyote, Black, and Wolf Grey.

A-TACS Original AU Returns

Thursday, June 9th, 2022

COLUMBUS, GA.- A-TACS® answers the call with the rerelease of the company’s flagship pattern: Original AU®.  The decision to bring Original AU back to market was made by consumer demand. “It was through discussions with our brand partners and end-user inquiries for product availability in A-TACS AU, that we felt the timing was right to rerelease,” said Phil Duke (owner, pattern designer).

Production of A-TACS AU in a variety of substrates (50/50 NYCO, NYCO Extreme – available in pigment print or VAT dye, 500D cordura, and webbing) have begun stateside with additional overseas production coming soon.  Phil Duke, owner of Digital Concealment Systems, LLC. (DCS) also added, “we are truly excited as a company to bring Original AU back and look forward to seeing new uniform styles and cutting-edge tactical gear on the market.”

A-TACS Original AU (Arid/Urban) first launched at the inception of the A-TACS brand in 2009.  Being the first company to introduce the “pattern within a pattern” concept, which utilized micro patterns segmented into larger macro patterns.  The use of effective color grouping combined with innovative camouflage design enhanced the pattern’s natural ability to break up the human outline and create visual distortion at a greater distance.  Patterns developed within the A-TACS brand are utilized worldwide by military personnel, Special Operation Forces, Law Enforcement, private contractors, government agencies, as well as recreational enthusiasts.  A-TACS continues as a trusted name in the camouflage industry long known for the development of creative theatre specific concealment solutions.

Digital Concealment Systems (DCS) is the only company in the concealment industry developing patterns for all facets of the market.  In 2007, founder and pattern designer Phil Duke left a marketing and pattern design position at one of the top two camo brands in the outdoor industry to form his own camouflage company NEXT Camo®, LLC.  Where the company introduced a series of successful traditional realistic “leaf and twig” camouflage patterns and later founded it’s two sister companies A-TACS Camo and Raider Concealment®.  DCS specializes in bringing both hunting and tactical camouflage patterns to market in a wide variety of applications.

A-TACS Camo, since beginning in 2009, has deployed with various Tactical Professionals, Law Enforcement and Special Operations personnel in a wide array of hotspots around the globe.  The camo patterns are designed for maximum effectiveness in the widest possible range of operational environments worldwide.  A-TACS Camo patterns are created using a far greater range of inter-mingled natural colors that are blended and overlayed into one another creating a more naturalistic appearance.  Our goal from day one has been to provide head to toe Total Concealment and Protection for the end-user.

Building on over 20 plus years of experience in the design and development of comprehensive concealment solutions, A-TACS is pleased to announce the rerelease of Original AU.
