Raven Concealment Systems Announces Two New Perun Holsters for Modular Handgun System

Raven Concealment Systems announced today the release of two new holsters for the Sig M17 pistol.

Both holsters are line extensions of their popular Perun family of outside-the-waistband (OWB) concealment holsters.

First is the Perun for the M17. The Perun is ambidextrous, has adjustable retention, and completely enshrouds the safety selector on the pistol. The pistol can be holstered with the safety in either position, and also works with standard P320 models that do not have manual safeties. New Force on Force Training Magazine

A U.S. Marine died late 2006 from a gunshot wound during an urban combat training accident. The Marine responsible was an experienced, well-trained Sergeant. The next day all of Camp Pendleton was briefed about the incident. This brief however, did not solve the design flaw that allowed live ammunition to become commingled with blank ammunition.

The Army and Marines have lost approximately 10 Service Members from negligent discharges since 2002, one just recently at Fort Polk last October, and hundreds more have been injured. This begged the question, “Why is there not a separate magazine for non-lethal ammunition for when Soldiers train?” That is where the Safe Tactical Magazine idea was born and is what drives SafeTacMag, LLC today.

New and Improved Pictinny Rail Gripstop from True North Concepts

Since its release in 2013, the Gripstop has gone through a series of improvements and design changes based off user feed back. True North Concepts has taken the opportunity to fine tune these changes for the re-release of their Picatinny rail mounted variant. As the firearms industry has moved away from the 1913 Picatinny mounting interface, it still remains the standard throughout the U.S. Military and most allied nations. The majority of issued weapons are already bulky and heavy, and TNC wished to reduce the weight of the Gripstop while improving performance. The result is the lightest, strongest Picatinny variant ever built. This new Gripstop weights just 1.7 ounces, and is built from 6061 T6 aluminum for maximum durability. It is currently available in both Earth Brown and Black colored Milspec Type 3 hardcoat anodized finishes. The included mounting hardware is built from tool grade steel, and is black nitride finished for maximum corrosion resistance. After years of feedback from the field the design now features a specialty flat-head, flush fit mounting screw, allowing any common screwdriver or multitool to be used for mounting and maintenance. The Picatinny rail Gripstop carries the same lifetime “No questions asked” replacement warranty as the rest of the Gripstop family, and is available now on the True North Concepts website.

This compact, pocket sized, weatherproof storage capsule is machined from 6AL-4V titanium billet and features a built-in 100M depth rated button compass, knurled cap, o-ring sealed, anti-roll body, neck down design for wrapping Type 1 cordage, Dyneema, to fishing line, and a built-in recessed striker strip for strike anywhere type matches.
