Ed Brown Products Introduces Evolution Series of Custom Pistols

PERRY, MO – Ed Brown Products, Inc. is proud to release the KC9 as the first new model in the Evolution Series of pistols.

Nearly 20 years ago the Kobra Carry took the industry by storm giving the world the first look at the Ed Brown Bobtail®, which later became the most widely copied option on the 1911. The combination of Snakeskin treatment and the Ed Brown Bobtail® are now legendary and are fully incorporated into the KC9, the first model in the Evolution Series. Completely optimized for 9mm, the KC9 is smaller, thinner, and lighter than its predecessor. The new pistol retains the comfortable and proven 1911 controls, so there are no new muscle memories to develop. The KC9 retains the standard 1911 grips, provided they are cut for the Ed Brown Bobtail®, which are now available virtually everywhere, and ships with the Ed Brown Exclusive Labyrinth Grips to make for a great looking package. Some parts were completely re-designed to take advantage of modern improvements such as the new external extractor, easy-to-change front sight, smaller ledge-style rear sight, bull barrel, and a flat wire recoil spring system. The re-engineered slide has been shortened to 4″, thinned substantially for weight reduction, and includes a unique 7-top custom cut, with special front and rear serrations. A recessed slide stop completes the package, making for the perfect custom 9mm 1911.

Like all other Ed Brown 1911’s, the KC9 is hand-built from fully machined components, loaded with custom features, and backed by a written Lifetime Warranty. What is also unique is the ground-breaking price. These pistols will be built in small, custom, identical batches, utilizing all latest in machining equipment and techniques to get every last bit of efficiency from the build process. The result is an MSRP of $1895, which is a 30% savings as compared to a one-off custom built to order.

B&T USA Awarded Contract To Supply US Dept of Homeland Security With The GL06 40MM Launcher For Deployment With US Customs And Border Protection

Tampa, FL – B&T USA, LE Division, recently won an IDIQ contract to supply US Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection Agency with B&T’s GL06 40mm Launcher. B&T will deliver 329 of their SIR (Safe Impact Round) launchers to DHS, the first US agency to adopt the GLO6.

The GL06 from B&T has been proven and deployed throughout Europe by law enforcement agencies. Ideal for border security and crowd control, the GL06 40mm Launcher uses SIR (Safe Impact Rounds). The DHS contract GL06 Launchers will be custom configured with shorter barrels and iron sights.

ZEV Technologies Unveil Two New Gen5 Slide Designs

For those looking to upgrade their Gen5 G17 GLOCK® slide, the wait is over. ZEV Technologies, known for creating the market for GLOCK upgrades, has unveiled their two newest slide designs, named the Orion and the Omen. Initially released for G17 Gen5 to meet demand for Gen5 upgrades, both slides will be produced in the popular G19, G17 and G34 sizes for Gen 3, 4 & 5 models in the very near future.

The Omen slide follows the “less is more” philosophy with angled side and top serrations to create a solid grip during slide manipulation. Front windows further reduce slide weight and provide an elegant, yet aggressive look.

The Orion slide features the most futuristic design ZEV has ever produced. Its unique styling provides for an all-over, non-slip grip. The pattern incorporates greater recessed surface areas, enhancing the grip for the un-gloved hand with less pointed edged serrations.

All ZEV slides are manufactured in ZEV’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility from a single billet of 17-4 stainless steel. ZEV’s proprietary design and tight tolerances deliver increased consistency in barrel lockup which improves accuracy. ZEV’s slides also weigh less than factory slides which reduces fatigue and reciprocating weight, allowing for faster follow-up shot placement. These two new slide designs are preconfigured to accept Trijicon RMRs and feature ZEV’s patented threaded post optic cut and include an RMR adapter plate pre-installed.

Norwegian Police Adopt SIG SAUER P320 X-Series as Standard Service Pistol

Newington, N.H. (November 8, 2018) – SIG SAUER, Inc. is pleased to announce the Norwegian Police have selected the SIG SAUER P320 X-Series as the standard service pistol for select agencies within their organization. The Norwegian Police is comprised of 8,000 police officers and 8,000 civilian personnel responsible for domestic law enforcement, border control, coordinating search and rescue operations, counter-terrorism, highway patrol, judicial orders, criminal investigation and prosecution.

The Norwegian Police conducted a very demanding, rigorous, and stressful testing protocol that lasted several weeks with firearms from multiple manufacturers. Testing for accuracy, speed, performance and ergonomics was conducted by select agencies within the Norwegian Police with whom the pistol would be in service with, and a third party was used for evaluating technical qualities. In all areas, the SIG SAUER P320 X-Series outperformed the competition, making it the pistol of choice for those agencies.

The P320 X-Series pistol is a modular, striker-fired pistol with a serialized trigger group available in varying grip sizes and adaptable to multiple calibers. The intuitive 3-point takedown requires no trigger pull for disassembly, and safety features include a striker safety, disconnect safety, and optional manual safety.

Fibrotex USA Selected to Deliver the U.S. Army’s Next-Generation Camouflage System

• Battle-winning, lightweight technology will be made in the USA to protect soldiers on operations around the world

WASHINGTON, D.C., November, 08 2018: Fibrotex USA Inc has won the contract to supply the U.S. Army’s Next-Generation Ultra-Light Camouflage Netting System (ULCANS), proven to deliver world-leading protection across the electromagnetic spectrum. The contract is a 10-year, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity award, with a total value of USD480 million. Full-rate production is expected to begin in early 2019.

Fibrotex USA’s new ULCANS contract is the result of a nearly two-year long period of highly competitive testing, trials and data collection conducted by the U.S. Army’s Natick Soldier Systems Center (PM-FSS), which assessed camouflage technologies from major global manufacturers against the Army’s most advanced battlefield surveillance sensors.

Ultra-Light Camouflage Netting System (ULCANS)The combat-proven technologies underpinning the new ULCANS are based on technology developed by parent company Fibrotex Technologies Ltd (FTL) over the last two decades, but have been specially modified for the U.S. Department of Defense. ULCANS will be manufactured in a new state-of-the-art vertical manufacturing facility in McCreary County, Kentucky – the only such facility in the U.S. – creating and securing hundreds of new skilled American jobs over the next ten years.

Kentucky Congressman Harold ‘Hal’ Rogers said “I firmly believe we have the best workforce in the country and that their hard work and dedication has earned these new jobs, helping deliver a vital new military contract from McCreary County. I take great pride in knowing that our people are crafting these products to keep our warfighters and allies safe, giving them an edge on the battlefield.”

The new facility is being established next to Outdoor Venture Corporation (OVC), which is a strategic partner to Fibrotex USA, and has been delivering soldier support systems to the U.S. Army for decades.
