PR experts Solkoa have transitioned their survival modules to the commercial market. Developed for military survival kits, the modules combine items to conduct various survival activities into single packages such as signal, shelter, medical, etc.
Additionally, they offer full kits such as the Core Kit shown below. Everything in that display case is contained within the kit seen at bottom right.
In years past, Crye Precision has used SHOT Show to unveil a whole host of new technologies. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, those products don’t always make it mass market that same year. This has not frustrated not only customers but Crye as well. So this year, there won’t be as many new products on public display.
AVS 1000 Pack
First off, Crye Precision has a pack designed for use with the AVS. It can be used as a stand-alone or attached to a platform via PALS or you can use it as a plate bag.
The padding on the back of the pack can be removed via Velcro.
JPC 2.0
Lighter than the first model, the new JPC 2.0 has stretchier plate bags in order to accommodate a wider range of armor plates.
It incorporates a new release mechanism and has four different front flap options compatible with AVS.
There are also pull handles at the cummerbund.
Hitcoat Shoulders and Yoke
Last year, CP released the Hitcoat.
This year, they’ve introduced the Hitcoat Shoulders and Yoke, a single size armor system (vice the Hitcoat’s 5 sizes) which offers simple to doff protection for the upper arms and shoulders.
SIX12
The SIX12 has received a little bit of a facelift.
The barrel and cylinders are now Titanium and there is a QD mount.
They’ve added a Remington choke to the 22″ barrel Bullpup model.

Las Vegas, NV (January 20, 2015) – CamelBak announces the launch of the Rubicon and Skirmish as part of its Maximum Gear line for 2015. Utilizing a unique 100 oz. (3L) Mil Spec Antidote Lumbar Reservoir, these packs re-invent the way water is carried in tactical hydration packs. The low profile, baffled lumbar reservoir integrates into a specially-designed insulated hydration compartment at the base of each pack. The Rapid Targeting and Ranging Module (RAPTAR) – Solver is a joint project between Applied Ballistics and Wilcox Industries. It is an improvement over the original model providing IR Laser, Visible Laser, IR Flood, and Laser Range Finder along with the Applied Ballistics Solver. The system also takes into account Temperature and Humidity, Inclination, Cant, and Heading Reading as well as optional GPS inputs.

The new Vertical Envelopment Pack or VEP was developed to attach directly to an armor platform. It can easily be flipped from the rear to the front in order to access gear or to get it off your back such as when riding in a vehicle.
They’ve developed a couple of mag pouches that integrate into the pack as well. Look for a write up soon.
