Wednesday, January 16th, 2013Yesterday, we were shown a prototype mag well for the GLOCK 19 and 23 by Sentinel Design and www.austereprovisions.com.

These use installed mag wells are compatible with factory GLOCK +2 baseplates and copies, Arredondo +2 and +5 extensions, Magpul Speedplates, as well as Dawson Precision’s excellent extended tool-less magazine extensions and Ez-Off baseplates.
They’re almost there and hopefully we’ll see these late Spring.

SHOT Show – Smith Elite Pivlock V2 Tactical

Based on the commercially available Pivlock V2 the new tactical model integrates ballistic protection and another interesting feature. Notice the FreeFloat technology on the lens near the temple. It’s a relief cut to alleviate optical distortion that occurs when the temples are flexed outward. But its most important function is to allow the lens to absorb a serious impact. The Pivlock V2 Tactical also incorporates rimless, frameless 3-piece adjustable nose. Notice that there is no frame along the top of the lens. That means you get a higher field of vision than other eye pro.
It meets all mil std and industrial protection levels for an eye shield. Available in Tan 499 and Black.
SHOT Show – Princeton Tec Switch Rail

Princeton Tec has introduced a new light called the Switch Rail. It is a Picatinny compatible, waterproof to 1m low output light for structure search, navigation, low level illumination and breaching operations. This light is a collaboration between Austere Provisions Company, Sentinel Designs LLC and Princeton Tec.
The Switch Rail offers 10 lumens for up to 36 hours using 2 each 2016 coin batteries. Available lamp options include IR/Red and IR/White.
SHOT Show – Remember the Ronin?

A couple of years ago Magpul undertook a design exercise that resulted in a customized version of a Buell motorcycle called the Ronin. Ronin Motorworks was created to take the concept one step further with the Ronin Warrior. 47 of these customized bikes will be produced and released later this year by Ronin Motorworks. Each will be named after one of the famous 47 samurai warriors.
