Massif Unveils New Civilian Clothing

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

For years, the name Massif was synonymous with FR. But last years they began a new line of non-FR clothing, initially with the Integrated Tactical Jacket and then the follow up Diamond Peak Field Pant and Lightweight Tactical Shirt. They’ve combined performance fabrics with innovative design to create clothing that offers a professional appearance with features you’d expect from high end outdoor brands.

Now, Massif adds several new civilian styles to the line during SHOT Show 2012. Designers have paid a great deal of attention to detail. For example, the Pilot Rock Polo isn’t your standard blocky fit polo. It features a napoleon-style chest pocket and also integrates a slot for a pen or sunglasses on the vertical flap. Additionally, it happens to be very comfortable.

The new styles include the long sleeve Snake River Field Shirt, short sleeve Hells Canyon Field Shirt, Pilot Rock Polo, Battle Ax Combat Pant, and Klamath Technical Fleece. There are a few other surprises coming as well including a puffy jacket and hardshell.

For all of the samples we were able to try, sizing was spot on or maybe a little large. Nothing came across as “athletic” cut, meaning there is plenty of ventilation going on and the garments can be layered. The Klamath Technical Fleece was a huge hit and someone immediately absconded with it. Two of us have worn it and agree that it is very comfortable and doesn’t give that synthetic feel. It also shed some pretty serious wind the other day.

See the entire line at SHOT Show in booth #26003.
