The X400 Ultra with Green laser is coming this summer after unveiling at SHOT Show.
There are numerous advantages to Green lasers. They are easier to pick up and you can see them farther. These are made with near green laser diodes and look much more green with the naked eye. Both SureFire’s Don Alexander and I noticed that it appears more blue under an iPhone or iPad camera.
It also features a 500 lumen Ultra head and remains compatible with all existing switching options. And, even though they integrated the Ultra head, it will still fit in X400 compatible holsters.
The HALO PDW from SIG SAUER utilizes a short stroke pushrod and will be offered in multiple configurations including barrel lengths, multiple calibers and even comes in an integrally suppressed model.
Shooters can easily switch between 5.56, 7.62×39 and .300 AAC. The upper is said to be compatible with any Mil-Spec AR style lower and as you can see in these photos, due to the operating system, it will accept side folding and collapsible stocks.
You may notice the 3D modeled brass deflector. This is so that they can rapidly test multiple versions in order to determine the most effective size, shape an angle for use with this weapon.
It’s amazing how folks continue to use and modify their EXFIL Bump helmets that were just released just last year.
To help them along, TW has introduced an add-on Velcro kit.
But the big news is that Team Wendy has just unveiled a major new helmet system. The EXFIL LTP for Lightweight Tactical Polymer features an injection molded lightweight shell, a new rail design that will be the standard for all TW helmets in the future, and an integrated shroud with a machined aluminum insert from Wilcox Industries.
Additionally, they are introducing a new liner called Revolve. Taking technology from the HEaDS UP program, these small discs compress during impact. Think of it as a bumper crumple zone but for your head.
TW sets up arrays of these discs in three sections that Velcro into place in the helmet.
The system still uses the Cam-fit Boa system and can be retrofit into most helmets. Although, I haven’t found one yet that won’t take the TW suspension. Alternatively, TW will be offering an H-style harness for those seeking something more traditional. Since they’ve introduced so many new options they’ve loaded a suspension selection guide on their site.
Look for Revolve available in June and the EXFIL TLP in late summer.
Coming Memorial Day from Oakley SI is the Fuel Cell POW/MIA Limited Edition. This design honors those who never made it home. The detail is amazing, with barbed wire and the image of a guard tower. Additionally, the Red Oakley “O” integrates the lines from an MIA bracelet first made popular during the Viet Nam war.
These really mean a lot to me as I wore a MIA bracelet for much of my career until the Soldier I honored’s remains were returned home. Oakley will make a substantial donation to the National League of Families for this project.
Avon Protection has expanded their role in the market by introducing the Morpheus semi-closed rebreather from recently acquired VR Technology.
Designed for use by divers who are involved in shallow water work (<40m/130'), it is available in single gas (nitrox) or dual gas (nitrox/oxygen) changeover configurations. Avon-Protection.com
Rogue Gunfighter launched their MOAB armor carrier today at SOFIC.
Here you can see the small “wings” they’ve added to the front panel which will accept radios, med gear, etc.
RG has developed Clamshell Pouches which are MOLLE Adapters that slide into place over the cummerbund.
You can preconfigure them to rapidly set your kit up and they stay in place via internal Velcro on both the Clamshell and Cummerbund.
The MOAB accepts clip on backpacks. In the same vein, the MOAB also accepts clip on chest rigs.
We’ve mentioned the Rocky S2V Jungle Boot several times in the past but I’m happy to say that these have moved from the T&E phase and have entered production.
The production model, available beginning in June will be in a darker Olive Mojave than the Tan seen here. The upper is 1000D Ballistic Cloth Cordura and integrates a thorn proof liner in the forefoot to prevent black palm punctures as well as a stainless steel mesh screen vent to prevent debris from entering the boot. It also features an anti-microbial orthotic insole.
