Speer Introduces New Gold Dot Carry Gun Ammunition Designed for Compact Personal Defense Handguns

June 18th, 2020

LEWISTON, Idaho – June 17, 2020 – Speer has taken its law-enforcement proven Gold Dot G2 hollow-point bullet and modified it to create a new product line called Gold Dot Carry Gun. This specialized ammunition is designed to provide superior feeding, ballistics and terminal performance through compact handguns. Speer’s new Carry Gun lineup includes 9mm 135-grain, .40 S&W 165-grain, and.45 Auto +P 200-grain loads. Shipments of this new product have begun to arrive at dealers.

“Most shooters believe that a defensive bullet—any defensive bullet—will perform well in typical self-defense situations. But a duty bullet that is designed and optimized for a full-sized duty handgun may not perform to the same standard when shot from a short-barreled carry or backup gun,” said Federal Handgun Ammunition Product Manager Chris Laack. “By taking the Gold Dot G2 bullet and customizing it to function in short-barreled defense pistols Speer has created a self-defense load truly optimized for the guns in which it will be carried.”

Gold Dot Carry Gun features the original G2’s exclusive bullet nose design. Instead of a large hollow-point cavity, it has a shallow dish filled with a high-performance elastomer. On impact, the material is forced into engineered internal fissures to start the expansion process. The result is extremely uniform expansion, better separation of the petals, and more consistent penetration across barrier types. Speer Gold Dot Carry Gun also utilizes the use of quality nickel-plated cases that feed dependably, advanced powders that perform consistently, and a sealed CCI primer that is sensitive and reliable.

Features:
• Gold Dot G2 bullet design optimized for compact carry pistols
• Shallow dish nose cavity filled with elastomer and structural-plated, pressure-formed core improve performance through barriers
• Extremely uniform expansion and penetration when fired through short barrels
• Exclusive Gold Dot construction virtually eliminates core/jacket separation
• Quality, reliable components and consistent accuracy and performance

PDW CC12 Cargo & Storage Duffel

June 18th, 2020

Grab-and-Go Duffel Bag for Camp and Home Organization

Prometheus Design Werx introduces their new CC12 Cargo & Storage Duffel system. Made with rugged, durable, weather resistant 1000D tarpaulin material and designed to be used with or without the common industrial 12 gal tote/bin which nests perfectly inside for scalable versatility. Filling a niche between soft bags and hard cases, the CC12 is a versatile storage system in a standardized format that is ideally suited for overlanding, expeditions, camping, and home storage of gear and supplies. Many 4x4s can fit three CC12s across in their cargo areas. Gear and supplies in CC12s can be kept in storage at home or garage when nested with the standard 12 gal bins.

The Design and R&D Team at PDW states:

“We saw a gap between the typical soft duffel bag and hard case storage options being used by today’s overlander. We also wanted to have a uniform storage system that could easily go from 4×4 to home storage areas. The standard, industrial, rigid wall 12 gal tote/bin is just about available everywhere and many of us use these at home, work and for camping. We created the CC12 around this 12 gal bin so these bins could be more user friendly when carrying to and from the vehicle. The multiple carry handles and shoulder strap allows for a much easier time when carrying and transporting these bins when nested inside. Each CC12 duffel can store your select camping gear and supply load outs so they are easy to grab and go for the spontaneous outdoor adventure or stored emergency supplies and food for sheltering in place or egress to a safe zone. These duffels are sized so one person or two can easily handle them when it’s a heavy load. The loop area on the front of the CC12 allows users to use our optional Morale Patch ID Tags to identify the contents inside. If ever needed, this duffel used in conjunction with the 12 gal bin can be un-nested and instantly double storage capacity. ”

The Prometheus Design Werx CC12 is a smart, user friendly and easy to adapt storage system for today’s overlander and prepared user. Available in Universal Field Gray.

The PDW CC12 Cargo & Storage Duffel is available for $199.00 on prometheusdesignwerx.com.

The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Trusted Capital, in concert with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), and the Department of Energy (DOE), will host an AI-focused Trusted Capital Virtual Venture Day.

Trusted Capital events are designed to bring together DoD-critical companies and capital providers to align their existing capabilities with national security interests.

The goal is to facilitate funding of companies with critical technology to provide risk mitigation against adversarial influence in supply chains and funding channels.

The Catalyst Accelerator Unveils Next Cohort: Cyber for Space Applications

June 17th, 2020

Discovering Innovative Tech to Keep our Nation’s Cyber-Physical Systems Secure
Colorado Springs, Colo – June 11, 2020 – The Catalyst Accelerator (CA) announced its next cohort, Cyber for Space Applications, launching September 1, 2020.  The goal of the CA is to increase Space  Force [TS1] awareness and rapid acquisition of commercial, dual-use space technology by providing relevant business development training to Accelerator companies and connecting these entrepreneurs with users, decision makers, and potential new customers in the DoD and commercial realms. Eight companies will be chosen to participate in the program held at Catalyst Campus in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“How might we apply cyber technologies to secure the next generation of space operations and increase resiliency?” the problem statement poses.  Cyber-physical systems are becoming more integral than ever before, introducing new sets of unique problems in both public and private sectors. It is vital that we come together to identify, understand and limit areas where threats could arise before they are exploited. The Cyber for Space Applications Accelerator, powered by the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Space Vehicles Directorate, will be a 12-week, semi-residential program. Participating companies will receive a $12K-grant through the Catalyst Accelerator’s Corporate Sponsor, Booz Allen Hamilton, with an additional $3K available at the end of the Accelerator program when all deliverables have been met.

At the end of the program, all participating companies will have the opportunity to pitch to government stakeholders, industry leaders and commercial investors during a demonstration day. This enables cohort companies to raise awareness of their capabilities in order to solicit additional capital or follow-on government funding for further technological development.

KiMar Gartman, the Catalyst Accelerator Program Director, states, “We are excited to assist the Air Force and Space Force in finding companies with unique cyber solutions that will secure the next generation of space operations and increase resiliency.  We look forward to collaborating with our dynamic space community to offer the very best program possible!”

Captain Keith Hudson, Government Lead for the Cyber for Space Applications cohort, stated, “As we face increasing cyber resiliency challenges in space, the upcoming Accelerator provides an opportunity for the USSF and AFRL to connect with small businesses to develop the necessary solutions to those challenges.”

Applications for the Cyber for Space Applications Accelerator will be closing August 3. The Catalyst Accelerator will be holding “Ask Me Anything” sessions on June 18 and July 23 to address inquiries related to the current CA Problem Statement along with other general program questions potential applicants may have.

For updates and other relevant announcements regarding the Cyber for Space Applications Accelerator, follow this cohort on social media with #CACSA. Interested applicants may learn more about the program and apply on the Catalyst Accelerator’s website, CatalystAccelerator.Space/Cyber-for-Space-Applications/.
